Chapter 8: 18 Thrilling [Pleasure]
Chelsea likes flying.
The most thrilling part of being a (half-)ghost was flying at crazy speeds. One night, Danny pushed Chelsea to see how fast she could go. Tucker stood by with a speed camera.
"One twenty-three!" Tucker called out.
"That's faster than your first speed, Danny," Sam teased.
"You're a natural at flying!" Danny said to Chelsea.
Chelsea blushed and hovered in front of the group. (She still wasn't used to using her legs.) "You're just saying that. I'm not that good."
"It took me a while to get control of flying," Danny said. "'Course, it took a while for me to get control of all of my powers."
"Oh yeah," Chelsea agreed, "I keep dropping things 'cause I go intangible without meaning to. How long did it take you?"
"Oh… maybe two months?" Danny said casually.
"Two months?" Chelsea gaped. "How did you hide it for two whole months?"
Danny looked at Sam and Tucker and shrugged. "We worked together and chalked what we couldn't hide up to clumsiness."
"And people believed you?" Jacob asked.
"There have been many close calls," Danny said. "But, yeah, people believed us. Still do, as a matter of fact."
"Except for Jazz," Sam said.
"She doesn't count," Danny said. "She paid too close attention." He clapped and rubbed his hands. "Anyway, let's get back to flying!"
"Yes!" Chelsea cheered.
