Cherished Marriage

Chapter 15: Chapter 15: I'm Determined to Get Married_1

Ye Che hadn't anticipated that a reporter would infiltrate the birthday banquet, and the day after these photos were leaked, he acted swiftly to shut down the entire magazine company and bought these photos at a high price from the reporters.

Usually, for minor celebrities or daughters of the wealthy, who are only interested in stirring up scandals to attract public attention, he couldn't be bothered to take action.

But Yiyi had always been well protected by him, never appearing in the media or public eye, so of course, he wouldn't allow such photos to circulate in society and cause trouble for Yiyi.

He hadn't expected that these photos would prove useful right now.

Xia Weiyi was speechless, her lips parted, staring motionlessly at the man before her, her complex gaze shifting from shock to panic then to grievance, and finally settling into a trace of disappointment.

He was actually using these photos to threaten her?

This brother, who in the eyes of others was a cold and decisive man, but had always been so caring toward her, was now using such means to deal with her?

It was laughable that she had never truly understood him.

The disappointment in Xia Weiyi's eyes deeply stung Ye Che. She must hate him to death now, right?

But when he thought about it, she had never loved him, had she?

She felt completely entitled to bask in his affection while indifferently watching him with other women, even using his supplementary credit card with full confidence to get some messy VIP tickets.

A candlelight dinner, too?

Did she really take him as a father whose only job was to make money to satisfy his daughter's every whim?

Now, was this "father" a villain, heartlessly disrupting a loving couple, an unforgivable bad person?

Ye Che found the irony so laughable.

"Xia Weiyi, the invitations have already been sent out. This marriage, whether you like it or not, is set in stone."

"And another thing, a kind reminder for you, stop thinking about Xu Ziliang. Do you think he can truly accept you without any qualms, accept you, a woman who has been with me, Ye Che?"

"Can he? Does he dare?"

...

After a deafening noise came from the room, the servants in the old house hurried upstairs.

Upon opening the door, they saw a shattered vase with glass fragments scattered across the floor.

Xia Weiyi, like a broken puppet, was crouched in the corner, clutching her shoulders with her head hanging low.

And Ye Che stood stiffly in front of the window, with a cigarette between his fingers, continually puffing smoke.

The entire atmosphere seemed tense and claustrophobic.

"Young Master, Miss..." Aunt Xu stood at the door, hesitating whether to enter or not. Taking one look at the two of them, it was clear they had been arguing fiercely.

Ye Che crushed the cigarette in his hand, turned to glance at Weiyi, and amidst the swirls of smoke, his gaze flickered with a slow-spreading tenderness and pity.

"Yiyi—" He sighed, squatted down, and attempted to pick her up.

But Xia Weiyi slapped his hand away and, raising her head, her eyes flashed with indifference and fatigue: "Don't touch me, get away!"

Ye Che's hand froze mid-air, and his demeanor became somewhat repressed as if a surge of anger was being forcibly contained.
