Chapter 4: X Plan
Of course, the idea of one person having everyone at their feet is bound to be met with some disapproval. The idea of the clans themselves being the ruling giants of the world is frowned upon by many, most notably 'The Rebellion'.
At first, like everyone else, they were nothing compared to the Clans and were easily suppressed, or perhaps oppressed is the correct term, but in short, they were powerless against the Clans and their power, before the Clans slowly began to separate and the internecine fighting and murder for the title of Crown began.
Eventually, the Clans became so focused on one of their own becoming the Pinnacle of Power that they unconsciously turned on each other and lost control of the Rebellions, allowing 'him' to rise to power as the Pinnacle of the New Age, as the Rebellions like to call him, Denso Moore Nolahan Falcon: The Blade of the New Age. And one of the biggest thorns in Dolffie's side.
The Rebellion will and has done everything in its power to prevent the rise of a Crown from all the clans, slowly infiltrating them and preventing the gathering of strong warriors and pirates with the potential to become powerful jewels or aspiring Crowns.
It's slowly spreading its influence by exposing the incompetence of the clans and their blind hunger for power and control.
In short, they are slowly putting the Giants in their graves.
"We must work together and come up with a plan if we are to succeed, and as your First Jewel, I want to fight by your side, fight for what you want, so that you can fight for what I want, but to do that, you must tell me what it is you want in the first place. What do you want in the Iron Fortress, what do you want as the crown... my crown? "
Carrot looked straight into Dolffie's eyes and once again they lit up like a golden flame, this time more powerful... and more determined to burn forever.
He knew he should have asked that question before becoming Dolffie's Jewel, but it wouldn't have made any difference, the only difference is Dolffie's answer. The answer that will either send him back on his fruitless path to the jaws of death or .... to the door of vengeance.
Dolffie looked at him speechlessly. His heart was pounding, but his eyes remained fixed on Dolffie's.
Dolffie's eyes suddenly darkened, their silver glow completely gone, and he looked at Carrot but did not see him. He pressed his lips together and clenched his fist before replying, "I seek only the pinnacle of greed for glory and envy from the Fortress, but from the fruits of the Crown...I seek all."
A dark and intense aura now surrounded him as he sat in silence, his clenched fist on the table, his gaze looking at all but seeing none.
Carrot was left speechless as his heart beat faster and he realised that there really was more to Dolly .B. Dolffie, the Storm of the Calm Sea, than met the eye. Something truly terrifying.
And just as quickly as it had gone, the warm glow returned to Dolffie's eyes and he was back to his silly self.
The scene took Carrot by surprise, but his eyes quickly softened, revealing hints of a warm smile under that little piece of cloth as he looked at Dolffie, his crown... and the key to unlock his special door.
To Dolffie, it looked like Carrot was satisfied with his answer and it made him a little happy, it was the first time anyone had given him such a warm reaction, especially when he told them about his goal, it was.....nice. But of course, he didn't care!
His body relaxed, his muscles loosened, but Carrot was the opposite, he was now even more fired up, determined to help, no, to serve Dolffie with all his might. He clenched his fist, looked at the map again and began to formulate a plan.
Getting past the Rebellion's security would mean outsmarting Falcon's predictions and strategies, which was almost impossible, for although the Clans were falling mainly due to their impotence and blind greed, Falcon's involvement was making them fall faster and harder. He's a clever and calculating man, up against three giants... and so far... he's winning, but there's a key word; 'almost'.
First they had to gather their thoughts and go back to the beginning, back to Baby Island itself.
Baby Island, also known as Bogo Island or the Floating Island, is a small and remote island all the way to the east, so there is no way Falcon would make a move as stupid as sending some of his strongest men all the way out here. He may be winning against the clans for now, but even he knows he is up against Three Giants... he needs as much loyal power as he can get to bring them down and make sure they never get up again.
This means that the Rebel Security guarding the Fortress will most likely have strength in numbers, not experience or individuality. There is a chance, however, that seals and/or guardians are involved, but it is slim.
Carrot began to make mental notes as he studied the map, his eyes wide open and sharp like a hawk watching its prey. The scene impressed Dolffie as he watched without a clue as to what was going on.
----
Strong (Human) Opponents ☓
----
There is also no way that Falcon would give them weapons strong enough to do serious damage, as he would most likely expect their numbers to overwhelm the intruder(s).
----
Weapons dangerous enough to cause too much concern X
Weapons dangerous enough to cause at least some form of incapacitating damage *.
----
Finally, the Iron Fortress was home to some of the Dolly Clan's most dangerous criminals, meaning that only a fool desperate enough to go there in search of a jewel would do so, and fools usually work alone or in pairs, rarely more, meaning that the Rebellion must not expect to face strong or clever opponents.
Carrot's eyes flickered to Dolffie for a moment before returning to the map. He could feel it the moment Dolffie 'washed up' on the deck of this island; he is strong, though seemingly a bit stupid and rational, his possession of the ancient map stolen from the heart of the Dolly Sea made Carrot sure of him. Their meeting was no accident, he had to do everything in his power to make sure Dolffie didn't throw him out, not before he opened the door.
He clenched his fist and gritted his teeth before looking straight into Dolffie's eyes.
There was a crimson flicker in his eyes before he spoke and he grinned.
"I have a plan..."
