Chapter 11: Chapter 11: Abbyssian And Merlan
Azure's eyes narrow in thought. "Are there any other species showing similar promise? Maybe not the same as the Vorrans, but… something with potential?"
For a moment, there's silence. Then, Nexus speaks, its tone carrying a hint of intrigue. "Yes, Host. There is another species that has caught my attention."
Azure raises an eyebrow. "Show me."
Without a word, Nexus transmits a vivid mental image into Azure's mind. It's like a video, but richer—more immersive. Azure sees a different kind of creature, their golden skin shimmering in the light. They are humanoid in shape, but smaller than the Vorrans.
Unlike the Vorrans, these golden-skinned beings don't communicate through spoken language yet. Instead, they use complex, fluid movements—gestures, postures, and signals that convey meaning without a single word. They move gracefully through their environment, their golden skin glistening under the sun of their small world.
Azure watches, fascinated. "They can't speak… yet they communicate so clearly. What are they saying?"
"Much of their communication is centered around basic survival," Nexus explains. "Hunting, gathering, avoiding danger. However, I have observed signs of deeper interactions—non-verbal expressions of unity, warnings, and even rudimentary forms of leadership. They are primitive now, but they show immense potential."
Azure watches as one of the golden-skinned beings signals to another, pointing out a source of food hidden beneath a rock. The other responds with a series of swift gestures, acknowledging the discovery. Despite their size, they move with purpose, their coordination almost as fluid as the Vorrans.
"They're beautiful," Azure says softly, his eyes narrowing. "So different from the Vorrans, and yet… I can see the potential in them. They're still in the early stages of development, but with time… they could evolve into something extraordinary."
His mind buzzes with ideas as he continues watching the golden-skinned beings. They are so different from the Vorrans, but both species carry a unique potential that excites him. One day, they might develop into civilizations as complex as those in his own world—or even surpass them.
Azure stands at the balcony, staring out at the vibrant domes of the mini-worlds. His mind is still filled with wonder after witnessing the Vorrans and the golden-skinned beings, but something nags at the back of his thoughts. He remembers a strange, revitalizing sensation from when he first entered one of the mini-worlds. A surge of energy coursed through his body, lifting his fatigue, almost as if it had erased the years of wear and tear on his old bones.
"Nexus," Azure suddenly says, his voice cutting through the silence. "What was that energy inside the mini-world? I felt it when I entered—like all the exhaustion and pain I'd been carrying just melted away. It… it made me feel younger, stronger."
Nexus said."It's called prana, host. Similar concept of mana."
Azure's eyebrows shoot up. "Prana? It felt... incredible. I've never felt anything like it. Is there any way you can bring that energy here, to my house?"
There's a brief pause before Nexus answers. "Host, as much as I understand your request, I am unable to infuse your entire residence with prana at this time. You, my Host, have not yet reached the status of a tier-1 life-form, and such an enhancement requires a higher level of vitality and resonance with the energy."
"But," Nexus continues, cutting through his thoughts, "I can attempt to concentrate the prana energy in one location of your house. Perhaps, a small area of your balcony, where you spend much of your time observing the mini-worlds."
Hearing this, Azure's eyes light up, his tired expression shifting into excitement. "You can? That's… that's perfect!" He almost jumps in joy, barely containing his enthusiasm. "The balcony is where I need it the most anyway. Just that small space will be enough for now."
"Very well, Host. I will begin the process of infusing prana into your balcony," Nexus replies, its calm tone unchanging despite Azure's excitement.
Azure leans against the railing, looking out over the landscapes below with a wide grin. He can already imagine the vitality, the strength he will feel every time he steps onto his balcony, bathed in the same energy that invigorates the creatures in the mini-worlds.
"Thank you, Nexus," he murmurs, his voice filled with anticipation. "This changes everything."
Another day passes, and Azure stands on his balcony, occasionally glancing at the domes of his two mini-worlds. He's become accustomed to observing the Vorrans in the first world, who, for now, seem content as they continue their hunting and village-building. Their world is quiet today, the usual hum of activity unchanged. The second world, the water world, is also still—its creatures swimming peacefully, ecosystems flourishing under the surface of the ocean.
But on the third day, something unexpected catches Azure's attention. As he peers into the water world, he notices a strange shift in behavior. Entire schools of creatures are moving in unison, gathering around one particular area. His gaze sharpens as he focuses on the scene unfolding before him.
There, in the depths of the water, a massive creature looms. Its body is a terrifying sight—hulking and grotesque, with dark, scaled skin and tendrils that twist and pulse in the water. Around it, smaller creatures are approaching cautiously, each of them offering what seems like tribute—fruits of the sea, coral, and strange oceanic plants. The smaller creatures seem to tremble as they offer these gifts, and the hulking monster accepts them with a low, guttural rumble that vibrates through the water.
Azure narrows his eyes, watching closely. "What's going on here?" he mutters. "Why are they acting like that?"
He turns his attention to Nexus. "Nexus, what's happening in the water world? There's… something major going on with these creatures."
Nexus responds calmly, its voice resonating in Azure's mind. "Host, the creature you are observing is known as an Abyssian. It has assumed a position of dominance in this section of the ocean. The smaller creatures you see are called Merlans, a humanoid species with fish-like features. The Abyssian has established itself as a ruler of sorts, terrorizing the Merlans and forcing them to offer tribute in exchange for safety."
