Chapter 6: The mysterious woman
The woman's voice was low and sultry, sending a shiver down my spine. She was dressed in a long, black coat that seemed to swallow her whole, and her piercing green eyes seemed to bore into my soul.
"Who are you?" I demanded, trying to keep my voice steady.
The woman smiled, her lips curling up into a sly grin. "My name is not important," she said. "What's important is that I have information about your past."
My heart skipped a beat. "What do you know about my past?"
The woman took a step closer to me, her eyes glinting in the dim light. "I know about your family," she said. "I know about the tragic events that befell them."
I felt a surge of anger and fear. "How do you know about that?" I demanded.
The woman shrugged. "Let's just say that I have my ways," she said. "But I'm not here to hurt you, Elvis. I'm here to help you."
I raised an eyebrow. "Help me? How?"
The woman smiled again. "I can help you uncover the truth about your family's past," she said. "I can help you find out who was responsible for their deaths."
I felt a surge of hope. Could this woman really help me uncover the truth?
"What do you want in return?" I asked, my voice cautious.
The woman's smile faltered for a moment, and I saw a glimmer of something else in her eyes. Something that looked almost like... sadness.
"I want you to do something for me," she said. "I want you to meet someone."
I raised an eyebrow. "Who?"
The woman hesitated, and for a moment, I thought she wasn't going to answer. But then, she spoke.
"Someone who can help you uncover the truth," she said. "Someone who has been watching you from the shadows."
I felt a shiver run down my spine. Who was this person, and what did they want from me?
"Okay," I said finally. "I'll meet them. But I need to know more about what's going on."
The woman nodded. "I'll tell you everything," she said. "But first, you need to come with me."
I hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to do. But then, I nodded. I had to know the truth, no matter what it took.
The woman turned and walked away, beckoning me to follow her. I did, my heart pounding in my chest.
As we walked, the woman told me more about the person I was going to meet. She said that they were someone who had been watching me for a long time, someone who had information about my family's past.
I listened, my mind racing with questions. Who was this person, and what did they want from me?
We eventually arrived at a small, nondescript building on the outskirts of town. The woman pushed open the door and gestured for me to enter.
I did, my heart pounding in my chest. What was I getting myself into?
As I walked into the building, I saw a figure standing in the shadows. It was a man, tall and imposing, with piercing blue eyes.
"Welcome, Elvis," he said, his voice low and gravelly. "I've been waiting for you."
