Crime Prison Island

Chapter 16: Chapter 7 Breeding

Sasaki waved his long sword and casually pointed, and a group of people had to be arranged to sign their life away.

Their fate was thus decided; they would likely sleep forever on this island. How fucked up was that?

The ones with sentences under ten years came forward to sign? For a moment, you looked at me, I looked at you, none of us moved.

Seeing that the crowd had not budged for a while, Sasaki's expression turned cold.

"Damn it!"

"Itchy for a beating, huh!"

He stepped forward and slapped a few people in front, dragging one to the table: "Sign now!"

The person dragged forth wore a morose expression, hemming and hawing, standing in front of the table, thumbprint on the contract.

Instantly, a light beam shot from the ceiling, scanning his entire body.

"Number KR3208059, remaining sentence 1825 days, extended to 10950 days, redemption currency earned 9125 points."

"Signing complete."

"NPC account established."

As people saw the projected text, indicating that the sentence was really extended to thirty years, they all broke out in cold sweat.

Gao Xin's eyes were bloodshot, the man originally had only five years of a sentence. Perhaps it would pass by enduring a bit, but on the very first day falling into the hands of these people, his servitude was directly increased to thirty years!

At this rate, they could never leave here in their lifetimes.

No wonder no one had ever heard of anyone being released after serving their sentence, thirty years! Crime Prison Island had only been established for just over twenty years. God knows how many people had signed up for this thing.

Luo Yan muttered softly, "The redemption currency is the difference between the thirty-year sentence and one's remaining sentence, which means, the shorter the remaining sentence, the more redemption currency one gets."

"It's like a lump sum severance payment, no wonder they call for people with less than ten years to sign; the shorter the sentence, the larger the 'severance' they receive."

Gao Xin said somberly, "Redemption currency is definitely the hard currency here, likely all the food and materials for building the village here depend on it."

"Your sentence is twenty years, and you've got the appearance of an Oiran; they definitely won't make you sign. I'm probably screwed..."

Luo Yan was stunned, then cursed under his breath, "screw the Oiran looks, I'll disfigure myself right after this."

Just then, Sasaki was happily dragging the first person who signed, chuckling, "Not bad, not bad, randomly catching one and he only has a five-year sentence, quick, transfer the redemption currency to me, my number is... never mind, just cash it out."

The man's eyes widened, extremely reluctant.

But he was in Sasaki's hands, what could he do?

"How... how do I withdraw?"

"Just say it."

The man, looking dejected, said to cash out, mentioned the amount, and finally withdrew all 9125 points of redemption currency.

Zizzi, a stack of bills resembling paper money flipped out from beneath the desk.

They shone with a golden hue, adorned with Angel motifs, various patterns, and the words redemption currency, with denominations in the corners, available in 1000, 100, 10, and 1 points.

Everyone recognized the material; it was nanosilk, an extremely expensive type of paper that couldn't be burned, soaked, or even pierced by rifle bullets.

The man withdrew a stack, and Sasaki took it directly, smirking as he called the next one up.

"Hurry up, don't make me pick each one of you out, we can check sentences here! Be smart!"

Gradually, a few more people stepped forward, signing in a dazed state.

Their sentences were merely three, five, eight years, not severe crimes, yet their situation seemed more miserable here!

Some laughed tragically, their spirits somewhat broken.

Gao Xin stood nervously, still not moving; he had a ten-year sentence, naturally, he wasn't going to volunteer.

Before long, all who honestly came forward had signed, still short of eight people, yet no one else stepped forward.

Sasaki's face darkened: "Damn it!"

He stepped forward and began grabbing people, testing their sentences.

At that moment, someone hiding in the crowed shouted, "Run, this must be an official place, he can't kill anyone here."

That cry lit a fire under the crowd, and a bunch of people at the back of the line turned and ran.

Sasaki scoffed, too lazy to chase.

However, several Japanese near the hall took initiative, a few punches and kicks, and the escapees were knocked to the ground.

"Murder! Murder! Doesn't the official care?"

"Help!"

The fleeing people screamed, and no one in the hall tried to stop the beating.

Some people not from Yamaguchi Village also looked over but didn't interfere.

This was Yamaguchi Village; the entire silver building was enclosed within the village, it could even be said that the village was constructed around this building.

Outsiders wanting to participate in the redemption game here had to go through Yamaguchi Village's territory. Who would dare provoke the local snakes?

"I'll sign, I'll sign... stop hitting..."

The fleeing people were quickly subdued, realizing truly that no one would intervene; they obediently went to sign, handing over their redemption currency to Sasaki.

Among these people, there were not few with ten-year sentences, which shook Gao Xin deeply. If everyone just obediently let Sasaki pick, he was also within the ten-year sentence range, likely to be picked as well.

It was because these people had run and were directly caught to sign… that he narrowly escaped.

A total of nine people had run, but the NPC count was short by only eight; this left one person over.

That person showed a relieved expression, thankful for his good luck.

Who could have expected Sasaki to turn around and strike him, blood splattering everywhere.

The crowd was horrified, was he really killed just like that?

Sasaki even shouted, "Number 97, clean up!"

The projection from number 97 didn't speak, but an invisible, colorless strange force suddenly appeared in the hall, sweeping the floor clean of bloodstains; the body, as if hit by a shockwave, was pushed directly out of the hall, thrown outside the building.

Gao Xin and the others gaped, this was... a controllable electromagnetic force field.

The equipment for this technology was incredibly expensive, clearly, this place was either officially established or by a major corporation.
