Chapter 3: Not How You Think It Went
What does he mean Renar is dangerous? Thinking for a bit she asked, "Can you squat down?"
No screen popped up but he did as she asked, crouching with his elbows on each knee and Zara cradled in between his arms, he stiffened up when the others crowded around.
"Hold out your wrists." Zara said calmly, ignoring the awkwardness of being cradled with care.
As the seven left held out their hands palms down with their gems like a watch sent a pang through her heart, reaching out her gloved hand she initiated a trade.
[Zara Requesting Trade]
They all accepted it as everyone's inventories became apparent to everyone but hers was filled with a lot of different berries, fiber, thatch, stones, and silk.
"What can we make with these?" One asked curiously.
"Can we even craft stuff without machines?"
"Don't tell me we have to do every single forgotten process to make things!"
Chuckling Zara makes them quiet, "Do you see the tab up top next to inventory that has numbers on it? It should be Engrams! That's where you use points to buy blueprints to craft things in your gem!"
Their faces distorted between fascination and confusion as they tried to prioritize the limited points.
Zara on the other hand was baffled, with being a level 1 with a star behind it she had all the Engrams unlocked but was missing the materials to craft anything.
Once they chose what they could craft they began to chat about who crafts what and transferred the materials to the correct person.
They each sent some berries to Zara as well as all the silk and some fibers and thatch. Puzzled, she tried to refuse them as they ignored her refusal getting the hang of crafting.
"How do we build?"
"Uhm… Seeing as there's no quick menu… Try to imagine what crafted item you want to place and where?" Zara guessed as she tried to figure out what the star behind her level was as Shadurel looked at her screen while keeping vigilance towards the floofer haired being sitting off to the side engrossed in his screen.
After many failed attempts of vision, poses, and calling commands with their hand raised like a wizard, one gave up and just finger gun pointed in defeat at the ground and said,
"Thatch Foundation!"
A squared thatch foundation appeared before everyone!
Startled, his hand wavered and the foundation disappeared like it was never there. Flickers of hope shone of their faces as each took a turn to finish a single sentence,
"What. Did. You. Do. To. Do. That!"
"I-I-I don't know!" Looking at his hand and back where the foundation had appeared he thought hard about what he did.
Reached out my gemmed hand in a fist towards the confused person and calmly said, "Let me try."
He fist bumped mine,
[Added x5 Thatch Foundation]
Pausing for a second as I recalled what he did. Double Finger Gun pointed to the ground, "Thatch Foundation!" As it materialized I kept my hand steady as gasps arose, seeing it had a red glow I turned my hand and it moved where I pointed until it turned green. Having an idea I pulled one finger,
"Bang."
It became solid but spun in place if I twisted my hand even slightly. Angling it to align with the wall of the cave I 'fired' my last finger with flare with my thumb still in the air,
"Bang!"
A thud noise was heard as it came into being, pointing my two fingers back out I 'reloaded' aiming slightly next to it as another green foundation appeared.
"Bang, Bang!"
It came into being quickly as I laid out the last three making a wide foundation. Another person who had made walls got up on the foundations and copied me as walls materialized with each thud. Cheers erupted as some dashed out to get more materials and others sorted through engrams and they started to plan their base layout.
In a smooth motion Shadurel got up without making a sound a green screen appeared before my face,
{Since they are now settled, your safety is priority.}
Shadurel moved sharply backwards as Rengar appeared in a cloud of dust where we were just at, his face showed no emotion like a drone, and he had an stone ax in each hand as his eyes never left my body.
"Wish we could do this the easy way, old friend." He cracked an eerie smile as his voice was very monotonous, "But that Avatar of yours isn't normal and is getting in the way."
He disappeared from view as the others who stayed peaked out their heads in confusion as my vision blurred as Shadurel dodged his every move with ease as the sound of metal clashing with stone as Rengar was sent flying into the wall.
Looking towards the hut I screamed, "RUN!"
They did, though pity filled their faces as they kept looking back at me, stopping those who had gone out who had just returned just as rocks were sent flying in all directions.
[Join Clan: Shadow Crafters] Appeared before them and their faces became serious as they nodded and darted out with new vigor.
Clan chat kept dinging in my ears as what I guessed they were giving an update and trying to find safety and back up.
Focusing on the golden screen to keep from being dizzy as Shadurel effortlessly kept me from being touched.

I made a low whistle and Shadurel softly squeezed me in acknowledgment,
With tears threatening to fall a pang in my voice I turn my head into his armored chest, "Do it."
Shadurel paused sharply, coming to a complete stop in the middle of the cave with the entrance in front of us and the darker part of the cave behind us.
The sudden pause made Rengar faceplant into his metal back, holding his face he backed off a few feet ready for Shadurel to strike.
With a slow turn of his head Shadurel surveyed the surroundings, calculating faster than Rengar could notice.
Shifting me to nuzzle the crook of his arm, he flexed his other arm in slow circles before clenching and unclenching his fist.
Not even looking in Rengars direction Shadurel suddenly disappeared and reappeared behind him with a backwards elbow strike in a single step without even a grunt or change in breath, hitting Rengar squarely in the back sending him flying forwards towards the entrance wall.
Shadurel had transferred all momentum to Rengar, coming to an abrupt stop keeping me from whiplash and sending Rengar through the mountain wall and beyond like a shooting star with skid marks.
Scoffing in triumph Shadurel barked a few barks as his Paracer trotted lazily into view barking back.
Putting me on the large dinosaur's back gently, even though he could ride it like a horse with ease, handing me the reins he setted off in a fast jog in the opposite direction further into the darker part of the cave, the Paracer kept pace on his heels at an easy trot.
As the darkness grew Zara tightened her hands of the reins and closed her eyes for her eyes had started to play tricks on her.
Shadurel noticing her change in breathing picked up the pace a bit as he expertly maneuvered past the cave dwelling creatures so fast that they hadn't noticed them yet, ignoring specific pathways that led to large creatures lying in wait as he navigated the maze of tunnels with swift ease, so that the girl of his dreams won't be frightened.
Leading further down until the space grew spacious enough for dragons to mosy around with room to spare, Shadurel headed for the Lava Pit, quickly hoping to get there fast enough that the heat waves wouldn't hit her until they were inside.
Metal ground soon arose and thundered with heavy footsteps as he led the Paracer through a fake lava fall leading to one of his safest bases.
Unaware of the situation of the one he launched, he looked at his chat screen in the Clan with a small smile tugging at his lips.
{She's Safe Now! Locations Marked Should Be Safe For You To Use Until You're Strong Or Fast Enough To Make It Down Here!}
As he gently picked up Zara who still had her eyes closed, Rengar finally came to stop his flight by killing a few high ranking dinosaurs by making a person sized hole in them and finally hitting the side of a volcano, even though he still made a human shaped hole.
Grunting from pain and effort as his glitched health bar was down to 5 points of health. Sitting on the edge of his hole he pulled up his screen and noticed that he didn't get any experience from those he flew through.
Pissed off, he pulled up another screen with a very detailed map and tried to locate Zara from the tracker he had placed on her when she fell from an asthma attack.
He huffed, "Must not be in the same biome as her?" As he scanned multiple times. Zooming in to see his current location did he finally see the pink blink of the tracker he had placed.
"YES!" He cheered as he bolted down the mountain. Taking another look at the map then at his surroundings he became confused.
While watching the map he walked in a random direction, only for the tracker to follow him… Sprinting in zigzags the pink dot followed his pattern!
Without paying attention he got hit in the back by the tail of a Fire Drake as it lazily swung its tail as it was munching on another dinosaurus corpse. It raised its head to see what it hit, it looked directly at Rengar, but didn't see what it hit so it went back to eating.
With an eerie grin, "At least 'That' still works!" His face dropped as a white streak-like hair extension was atop the swinging massive tail, "That Fuker!"
Looking in the direction of the carnage he came from with malice, "You can run! But you can't hide!" Green towering beams appeared scattered as Players died and respawned somewhere else, "I just have to wait till you die! Then I'll play with you as long as we want, for you'll be under our control!"
Sighing in anger, he started to walk towards the carnage and collect all the materials he could as no dinosaurus paid him any attention, grumbling as he cursed his luck he failed to notice the very few Golden towering beams that shot up in the Volcanic Sector.

Zara looked at the newest alerts that rang through as the doors to the lava pit closed and the massive heat wave dissipated. The Paracer shook itself making her cling to the large saddle in fright. Looking up I saw a massive metal cavern with things that could rival the technology from the ones who kidnapped her. It looked like a large lobby with panel towers and walkways higher up and empty dark doors on the side that gave off a feeling that the shadows were alive.
Amazement showed on her face as Shadurel smiled under his helmet, putting the top half of his armor into Inventory his black hair draped down over half his blue eyes, with an ungloved hand he reached towards her with his palm up.
{This way!"}
The green screen popped up in front of her eyes as she looked towards him in confusion now that she saw him in proper light and a clear head.
Seeing him up close and in real life seemed different from the window version when she selected him. His large stature radiated safety, his muscular body rippled with strength as he tried his best to be gentle with this being almost half his height.
