Chapter 10: Welcome To The Academy
"Come with me," Annie said approaching Rohan from where he stood, glued to the floor. 'He must be bewildered by all these discoveries." Annie thought, "I'll show you around." As she waved at him to follow her.
Rohan escorted Annie as they both exited the auditorium into a hallway, everywhere looked clean compared to what Rohan had expected. It seemed the Captain was doing an excellent job at keeping his priced piece healthy. The lighting system inside the hallways had sensors that enabled them to come on when they felt the presence of someone coming, as they flickered deeper both Annie and Rohan walked into the hallway taking a turn. The new hallway they walked into had holographic displays on the walls, it showed people and events that were recorded.
"This is the hallway of fame if you are wondering what those holographic displays are," Annie said, interrupting Rohan from his obvious lust in the holographic displays. "The individuals displayed there are all the people who helped to put this place in order, they all had the best systems if I may say," Annie concluded as they left the hallway of fame.
"Next stop the training field."
Annie arrived at the training field with Rohan almost immediately, like the field was just behind the corner when in reality they had to take an elevator down.
The training field was exactly the opposite of the name it took. Its floor was made of fine metal with different colors. There was also the area tagged the pit, which was filled with grey sand, there was a caution sign placed just in front of the pit, that stated clearly, 'Keep off.'
"The noob is finally here, let's see some action." Came a hoarse voice from the crowd of recruits that was training. Rohan was shocked, 'were they expecting me.' he thought as he walked to a nearby seat.
A voice startled Rohan."Hey, that there is my seat so if you don't mind, I'd like it if you picked another seat." The voice sounded all too familiar.
Rohan raised his head in fear as he faced him. His suspicion was correct, Caperon was standing right in front of him, though he looked different, Rohan could still know who it was from his bullying attitude that he seemed to put on display right in front of everyone.
"I don't need no trouble." Rohan acknowledged as he walked away from the seat seeking another one.
"Come here you noob, you haven't acknowledged the rights to passage and so you aren't welcome here in the training field," Caperon said, pointing at the floor. It seemed he was already dominating the training field since no one spoke against him."Now scramble out of here before we crush you."
"Let him be," Annie said, coming to Rohan's rescue.
"And how are the units coming along." The brown-haired lady asked as she walked through the hallway with her escorts. A young girl walked beside her, holding a folder in her hands.
"So far, the units have not been able to identify their systems and we are yet to perform the systems test. We do not want to push them so hard." The young girl answered as they arrived at the training field.
Caperon rushed at Rohan landing on his cheek a decent blow that sent Rohan falling to the floor.
"Stand up noob, we have a lot to catch up on." CCaperons'svoice echoed throughout the training field.
Recruits gathered around Caperon and Rohan to witness the events.
Rohan tried to get up but was brought down by Caperon with a blow to his stomach. He was not expecting his first day to be like this. Just now he was lost in awe of the marvelous wonders in the academy and next thing he was now in a brawl with his enemy from his past life. 'Why would the first battle be against him.' Rohan thought.
The screen activated in front of Rohan, blocking his view. 'What do I do now.' Rohan thought. "Summon Quad." Immediately the wolf with four eyes materialized beside Rohan.
"You must be kidding me," Caperon said as he withdrew his attack from Rohan. "Let's see! summon Shinro." Immediately a small animal that looked like a raccoon materialized beside Caperon. Its color glowed with a bright red in the middle. The raccoon seemed to be feeding when Caperon called since it held a brown nut in its mouth.
"Shinro attack that beast that stands against us," Caperon ordered.
Everyone gave way as the battle between Rohan and Caperon escalated into summoning beast companions.
Shinro attacked Quad, Wandiflashed it a wastandininifrfronttQuad holding out its nut. The next minute it was back with Caperon but without its nut. The nut was left behind in front of Quad when suddenly it exploded. Sending both Rohan and Quad flying away into the air, before Rohan could reach the floor Caperon appeared above him kicking him hard under his foot as Rohan pummeled on the floor.
Rohan was weak as he felt his body heavy on the ground, he raised his head to see Quad on the floor badly injured. The nut that was left on the floor by Shinro, Caperons beast companion seemed to have done more harm to Quad than Rohan since the nut was directly in front of Quad.
Caperon walked up to Rohan with triumph. He had brutally defeated the noob and was not ready to let go of him just yet.
Rohan seeing this quickly materialized his mallet using it to smash into Caperon's stomach as hard as he could sending him flying into the pit.
"Wow!" The crowd gasped, Caperon had landed directly into the pit.
Just then the resounding clapping of hands together could be heard from the entrance of the training field.
"So many tricks up your sleeves I see." The brown-haired lady said as the recruits made a passageway through the Crowd for her to come through.
"And what do we have here? A new contender in the pit." The general arrived in front of Rohan.
"Welcome to the academy, let's have some healers here to tend to you."
