Cursed family

Chapter 25: Chapter 25: No way out.

Eli shoveled the food into his mouth as quickly as possible, his eyes darting towards the door every few seconds. He couldn't wait to get out of there and avoid any more awkward encounters.

As he finished his meal, Eli pushed his chair back and stood up, his eyes fixed on the door. He took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing heart, and made a beeline for the exit.

He opened the door slowly, peeking out into the hallway to make sure the coast was clear. Satisfied that no one was watching, Eli slipped out of the room and began to make his way down the hallway, trying to blend in with the other guests.

But just as he was starting to feel like he was going to get away with his little escapade, Eli heard a voice behind him.

"Mr. Vanderbilt!"

Eli's heart sank as he turned to face the speaker. A tall, imposing figure in a tailored suit was striding towards him, a confident smile plastered on his face.

"Good evening, Mr. Vanderbilt," the man said, extending a hand. "I'm Reginald, the event coordinator. I see you're enjoying the... ah... hospitality."

Eli's eyes darted back and forth, trying to come up with an excuse for his presence. But before he could say anything, Reginald continued.

"I trust everything is to your liking? The food, the drink, the... ah... accommodations?"

Eli's face turned bright red as he realized he was in trouble. Big trouble.

Reginald looked at Eli from head to toe, his expression a mix of surprise and amusement. "Mr. Vanderbilt, I see you're not dressed yet. Please, the party is about to start. Your attire for the night is in the wardrobe, right beside your shoes, in the room. Please, hurry."

Reginald started walking back towards the room, gesturing for Eli to follow. "Uhn, Mr. Vanderbilt, please come inside. You can't be seen dressed like that yet."

Eli hesitated, unsure of what to do. But with Reginald waiting expectantly, he reluctantly followed him back to the room.

As Eli entered, Reginald stood behind the door, a patient smile on his face. "Mr. Vanderbilt, I'll be here waiting for you. Please, take your time."

Eli's mind was racing. He had thought that once he entered the room, Reginald would leave immediately, giving him the perfect opportunity to escape. But now, with Reginald waiting outside, Eli was stuck.

He looked around the room frantically, searching for an escape route. But the windows were too high, and even if he could manage to climb out, he would likely injure himself on the way down. And besides, he couldn't fly through the window because... well, he wasn't exactly Superman.

Eli let out a deep sigh, feeling trapped and helpless. He knew he had to think fast and come up with a plan, or risk being discovered and thrown out of the party. But for now, he was stuck in the room, with Reginald waiting patiently outside.
