Dawn of Light - Reincarnated as a villain

Chapter 13: Eldritch Bloodborn

Drusilla stood before me, her face a mixture of shock, awe, and something else I couldn't quite place—concern, maybe. Her crimson eyes were locked onto me, studying me as though she could see into the very depths of my being. Finally, she asked the question that had been nagging at her.

"Have you finally become a vampire?"

I stared at her, confused by the way she asked it. My transformation had been far from ordinary, but still, I didn't expect this level of question from her.

"Yeah, why?" I replied, still trying to process everything.

Her lips tightened, and she shook her head slightly, as if trying to convince herself of something. "Because your change is somewhat... different than usual," she said, her voice trailing off with uncertainty.

I already knew that my transformation had been far from any other normal vampire transformation. But still, I couldn't help but ask, "What do you mean?"

Instead of answering directly, Drusilla reached into her storage ring and produced a large mirror. For a moment, I was puzzled, wondering why she even kept a mirror in her storage ring. But I didn't ask aloud—there were more pressing matters to focus on.

When the mirror was in front of me, I froze, my breath caught in my chest.

The reflection staring back at me was... different. My skin was paler, the usual sign of vampirism, but that wasn't what shocked me. My hair, still the same stark white, framed a face that was undeniably more handsome than before. But the real surprise came when I looked into my eyes.

My left eye—previously a calm blue—had now turned a deep, glowing crimson. The right one, however, remained blue, just like before.

"Your eyes," Drusilla murmured, her voice filled with a trace of disbelief. "Both eyes should have turned crimson red, but only one has." She sounded genuinely puzzled.

Then, her curiosity piqued, she asked, "What category of Vampire are you? Because I can tell that you didn't become a Crimsonvale Vampire."

Her question seemed so natural. In most vampire lore, when someone was turned, they gained an innate understanding of their new vampiric category, an understanding that came naturally and I have also received innate understanding but I have to focus on it but I can simply ask the system about it.

After a beat, I replied, "It's something like... Eldritch Bloodborn."

Drusilla paused, clearly surprised. She tapped her chin thoughtfully, considering my words. "I don't know this category," she said, her voice tinged with mystery. "Maybe my father will know something about it."

At the mention of her father, my interest piqued. Drusilla's father was the sole ruler of the vampire race, the one and only primordial vampire before I have transformed.

She continued, her tone turning serious. "What skills did you receive after the transformation?"

I paused, needing a moment to collect myself. "Wait, let me receive the information that came with the category first. Then I can tell you," I said, trying to focus inwardly.

"Okay," she responded, her eyes never leaving me.

"But first, can you clean this place up?" I asked, gesturing to the bloody mess that was still lingering in the room.

Without a word, Drusilla waved her hand, and in an instant, all the blood and gore vanished into her storage ring.

"Do you use that storage ring as a dustbin?" I asked, more out of curiosity than anything else.

She shrugged nonchalantly. "Yes, why? Everyone has a storage ring for garbage, right?"

I blinked at her, a bit taken aback. "No... not everyone has that kind of storage ring."

She tilted her head. "Did you say something?"

"No, nothing," I muttered, rolling my eyes.

I then sat cross-legged on the now-clean floor, closing my eyes in an attempt to show her that I am receiving the information that had come with my new category while internally calling out to the system.

"System, show the description of Eldritch Bloodborn."

[Okay, host.]

After that , the system panel materialized in my mind with a description about my category.

[Eldritch Bloodborn: Category of vampire which was not heard before. This category is specially formed for the host. The more the host grows, the greater the potential of their power will become.*

Skills:

- Crimson Renewal: The host regenerates rapidly from injuries. Small wounds, severe injuries like broken bones or organ damage heal in seconds. Fatal injuries to the heart or brain take minutes to heal.

- Shrouded Insight: The host can sense life forms, emotions, and supernatural presences within a limited radius of 100 meters.

- Crimson Wielding: The host can weaponize their own blood, forming spikes, tendrils, or weapons for offense or defense.

-Vital Surge: The host can sacrifice their own blood to temporarily increase agility and strength. However, they will feel weak based on the amount of blood they sacrifice. Sacrificed blood will not regenerate till 24 hours.]

I opened my eyes, the overwhelming flood of information still fresh in my mind. I looked at Drusilla, who was waiting expectantly.

"These are the skills I received," I said slowly, choosing my words carefully. "Crimson Renewal allows me to heal from injuries rapidly. It's like a constant regeneration ability. Shrouded Insight lets me sense life forms and supernatural things around me. Crimson Wielding lets me turn my blood into weapons. And Vital Surge lets me sacrifice my own blood to become stronger temporarily."

Drusilla's expression shifted as I spoke, her emotions shifting like a rollercoaster. She seemed impressed.

"Crimson Renewal... Regeneration skill that can compete with our family's regeneration ability,"

"Shrouded Insight is useful, especially in forests or when enemies are closing in on you."

"But Crimson Wielding... that's a unique power. Vampires can't usually manipulate their blood. Our family is the only exception but we also can't use our blood but the blood of dead foes or allies. This could be your main weapon with the help of regeneration you can always regenerate your blood."

"Vital Surge..." She paused, her eyes glowing with admiration. "It's an overpowered skill. You can use it whenever you're losing, to turn the tide of battle or escape. If you learn to control it, there will be no one who can stop you."

I felt a chill run down my spine at her words. Drusilla's emotions were difficult to read, but one thing was clear—she was excited for what I could become.

Then, with a soft smile, she said, "As you are my disciple now, from tomorrow will be your training."

I froze, a sense of dread creeping into my chest. Despite her soft smile, there was something unsettling about it. A cold shiver ran down my spine as I nodded in response.

"Okay," I said, trying to keep my voice steady.

At that moment, I had no idea how much my life would change. But one thing was certain—future Zephyx would curse the present one for accepting Drusilla's training today.
