DC HERO AT MARVEL

Chapter 141: Chapter 141The Trailer!

As Jim had said, Superman foundational premise is that of a superhero from another planet.

Although he looks indistinguishable from a human, Superman possesses extraordinary abilities far beyond those of any ordinary Earthling, earning him the title of "Superman."

Superman also embodies an extraordinary sense of justice and empathy, blending divine and human qualities.

In short, Superman is a character of immense charisma—a quintessential superhero.

Based on Jim extensive experience in the film industry, Superman story is rich in narrative appeal. Even if the movie weren't being released during such opportune conditions, it still had the potential to become a blockbuster. Under the current circumstances, however, the film marketing possibilities were through the roof.

A superhero from another planet!

This single hook was enough to set expectations sky-high.

Moreover, in the film lore, Superman is one of the major figures in the Justice League, a comrade-in-arms of Batman!

Jim had no qualms about leveraging Batman popularity to bolster Superman appeal.

After all, they were both under the same DC banner.

"How much time will you need for promotion?" Anton asked after some thought. "The movie production is completely wrapped up?"

"One week! Just one week for promotion! We need to ride this wave and be the first to seize the moment," Jim said seriously. "You don't need to worry about the movie itself. Quentin outstanding direction has elevated its quality to a whole new level."

"Alright, go ahead with your plan. The company will fully support you," Anton replied with a nod. "This Superman movie is critical. It impacts the trajectory of our next projects and absolutely cannot fail."

"Don't worry."

Jim was brimming with confidence.

Even before arriving at the office, he'd anticipated that Anton wouldn't turn down his proposal. He had already sketched out a plan in his mind and was ready to execute it as soon as he returned.

Jim didn't disappoint.

That very evening, promotional materials for Superman began appearing across media outlets affiliated with DC.

Of course, the Daily Bugle played a pivotal role in spreading the word.

On the Daily Bugle website, a forum dedicated to DC characters highlighted Superman as its most enticing topic.

The trailer received countless clicks.

[A Superhero from Another Planet!]

The title alone struck a chord.

Given the ongoing buzz surrounding the alien invasion, people couldn't contain their curiosity and flocked to watch the trailer.

Among those viewers was Eddie.

A man stands atop a unique spire-like tower, gazing into the distance.

Around him, explosions rage, shockwaves and flames stretching to the farthest edges of the horizon, as if the world itself faces annihilation.

"Farewell, my son!"

The camera shifts to reveal the man placing an infant into a spacecraft. Beside him stands a woman, clearly his wife, her face etched with sorrow as she gently caresses the baby soft, pale cheeks.

"Our hopes and dreams will travel with you," the man says, offering his son his most heartfelt blessing.

"He will be an outcast," the woman interjects, her voice heavy with worry. "They will kill him."

"No," the man replies firmly. "They will revere him as a god."

Their exchange ends.

The infant is secured inside a small pod, which hovers upward and enters the spacecraft.

Boom!

The next moment, the spacecraft ascends into the skies, breaking through the atmosphere, navigating past countless planets and asteroids, until it heads toward the blue sphere of Earth.

Behind it.

A planet explodes.

A massive shockwave ripples silently, its energy surging outward before fading into an eerie calm, as though nothing had ever happened.

At this moment.

The camera pans outward, revealing the vastness of space.

A planet, in the grand scale of the universe, is but a speck of dust—insignificant.

The scene transitions to Earth.

A large hand opens the infant pod and gently lifts the baby.

"Today, you are my son," a warm voice says. "From now on, you are Clark Kent."

The trailer lasted only 45 seconds.

Yet Eddie was completely captivated.

As a loyal fan of DC, he wasn't just blindly supporting his boss.

He already knew Superman story in great detail, having read the novels and comics DC had released.

Now watching this movie trailer, he wasn't necessarily surprised by the plot.

It was the special effects!

In just a few seconds, the destruction of a planet, the ascent of the spacecraft, and the depiction of alien technology left him feeling the movie would be spectacular—a two-hour visual feast.

[Man of Steel, coming next week. Stay tuned!]

The trailer ended with this simple text on screen.

"Just one week of promotion, and they've prepared five trailers in total," Eddie muttered, impressed.

Based on the coordination between the Daily Bugle and DC, five trailers had been planned.

However, with time running short, only one had been completed. The remaining trailers were still being fine-tuned by Jim and his team.

Though Eddie wasn't deeply entrenched in the film industry, as a journalist and editor-in-chief, he had enough insight into the process to understand just how tight this schedule was.

Especially when it came to editing.

Five trailers.

It sounded simple, but it wasn't.

They needed to be engaging enough to grab attention while withholding major plot details.

"We're all just workers slogging away!"

Eddie sighed.

Even so, he found himself increasingly curious about the next trailer.

Downstairs.

Anton also watched the trailer and was reasonably satisfied with Jim work.

To be honest, Jim had gone all out to ride the wave of interest sparked by the alien invasion.

In just one day, he had coordinated with numerous media outlets and drafted a fairly comprehensive promotional plan.

Bringing Jim, an experienced producer, into the company had clearly been a wise decision.

After the trailer was released, Anton checked the system for the current fan count for Superman.

[Superman Fan Count: 4.61 million]

This number wasn't particularly high—in fact, it was somewhat low.

But considering that DC was still a relatively new company, Superman lacked an existing fan base, and unlike Green Arrow, he couldn't ride Batman coattails, the figure was understandable.

It was clear that the movie release would likely bring a significant surge.

Still, no matter how impressive the growth rate, there remained a vast gap to the 100 million fan points required to unlock Superman in the system.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

Success comes one small victory at a time.

Anton had never expected to instantly unlock Superman as his "next big thing."

That why he had set himself a two-year deadline.

If Superman could be unlocked within two years, it would already be a monumental achievement.

After the trailer dropped, the Superman movie garnered substantial attention, thanks to the public heightened interest in aliens.

Although the promotional period was limited to just one week, Jim high-pressure, resource-maximizing approach introduced many people to Superman and the upcoming movie.

Over the next few days, the fan count grew steadily.

By the day before the movie release, it had surpassed the 6 million mark.
