DC: Leave my Cat alone

Chapter 44: Chapter 43: Uncle

Chapter 43: Uncle

"Hi Mr. Morningstar, Ms Blair is inside her room." Blair's maid, Dorota told me as she opened the door to their house.

I had met Dorota before, when she came in Blairs car to pick her up from my place.

Then she observed the little girl with pink hair sitting on my shoulder and felt slightly confused.

"Oaaahhh!" Anya exclaimed in shock as she looked around the massive house.

"This is…"

"Ah, Dorota, this is Anya, Anya say hi."

"Hello." Anya said with a monotonous voice and raised her little hand to shake Dorota's hand.

Dorota shook her hand, still surprised about why I brought a child with me.

"Papa, who is that lady?" Anya whispered very softly into my ear.

"She takes care of the person I am about to meet, helping her with chores around the house"

"Wow! So she is a super hero!" Anya said, this time very loudly.

"And why would she be a superhero if she helped with chores?"

"Because Anya hates chores!" She said with complete conviction.

While walking up the stairs, I could see a small smile on Dorota's face, clearly happy for the compliment of the pink haired kid.

"Me too Anya, don't worry though Tom does all the chores." I told her, to which Anya became very happy.

We eventually stood right in front of Blair's room, and I waited outside it for a moment before turning towards Anya who was looking at me with anticipation.

I felt like I could almost read her thoughts. The little girl was probably thinking something along the lines of 'this is a boss fight, how exciting.'

"Remember our deal Anya."

"Yes, Anya will not call you Papa outloud!"

However, the second she said that, the little girl quickly closed her mouth in shock, almost as if not believing what she had just said.

I couldn't help but facepalm.

"Who's outside?" I heard Blair's voice call out from inside of her room.

"Urm…it's me, Lucas."

It literally didn't even take long for the room's door to open.

Blair was wearing what seemed to be a nightgown, what she did usually wear when she came to stay over at my place more often.

Her hair was tied into a messy bun, and she didn't have any makeup on but she still looked…

"Wahhhhh, pretty!" Anya said my thoughts out loud.

Blairs eyes first laid on mine, and slight tears formed around her face.

I didn't really know how to react, since I had been ghosting her message for the past day or so.

I wasn't really one who was great with dealing with my emotions. I mean, for the past few years, I have rarely talked to people often.

Any problem I had was not emotional, but rather something that could usually be solved with time.

But things I found out about Blair is not something time would heal.

While I would love to think of myself as someone who doesn't judge a person based on their past, unfortunately no matter how far you run away from your past, it is a part of you.

I would know that.

But as long as a person shows that they have matured from their experiences, I could care less about how one behaves in their past.

Hearing Anya's childish voice broke her out from her stupor and the tears stopped forming.

Blair turned to see Anya whose pupils were currently massive and she looked at Blair with mock worship.

Anya covered her mouth again, looking at me apologetically. She promised to me that she would stay quiet, but she kept letting her intrusive thoughts win.

'It's okay Anya.' I told her through my thoughts to which she seemed to calm down a little, but still had her little palms covering her mouth.

You know, just in case she made another mistake.

"Who's this?" Blair asked as she looked towards Anya.

"Urm…it's a bit complicated to explain, but her name is Anya. Anya say hi, this is Blair."

Anya took one of her hands that was covering her mouth and leaned slightly forward towards Blair and mumbled some incoherent words.

I raised my hands to remove Anya's hand from her mouth and asked her to speak again.

"My name is Anya, nice to meet you Princess Blair!"

"Princess?" Blair questioned as she raised her hand to shake Anya's hand.

Anya nodded and then continued, "Yes, I keep hearing that you are a princess."

"Did you hear that from Lucas?" Blair questioned the little girl and turned to look towards me.

Anya looked to the side, her face completely hidden from Blair, and then she covered her mouth a little, clearly trying to not get caught in a lie.

"Yes."

Well that was because technically I didn't say it out loud, so Anya read my thoughts, she didn't hear me say those words out loud.

Blair couldn't help but chuckle at Anya's cute antics which made the little girl confused.

"We…I need to talk to you." I told Blair.

"Alright, let's go on a walk then. Give me 5 minutes to get ready."

"How long do we have to wait?" Anya mumbled, as she continuously kicked rocks that were on the floor.

It had been 30 minutes since Blair said she would be here and we were still waiting.

"Anya, do you find this annoying?" I questioned.

"Anya will never take this long to get ready." The little girl declared, as she pounded her fist to her chest.

"Pinky promise?" I questioned, with my finger out. The little girl quickly moved towards me and stuck her pinky finger out too.

"Promise."

Now that's checkmate.

I will use this against her for the rest of her life.

Reading my thoughts, Anya realized she made some type of mistake.

"No, I'll take it back!" She quickly said, pointing her finger at me accusingly.

"Promises don't work that way Anya, you can't break it when it is convenient. That will make you a liar."

Anya began to grumble, but didn't say anything further.

Currently we both were at the entrance of Blair's house, right at the steps of her entrance while waiting for her.

As we were waiting, a man draped in a form-fitting bodysuit entered the house. The suit clung to his skin, accentuating his bulging muscles that seemed to ripple with every movement.

His skin was a deep brown, and he was completely bald, with a pair of dark sunglasses shielding his eyes. Despite the lack of visible expression, he exuded a menacing vibe that sent a shiver down my spine.

His every step was deliberate and powerful, each one echoing with an air of silent authority that commanded the room's attention, as if…as if the world was bending to his will.

The moment he spotted me, a wild, almost deranged grin spread across his face, making him appear even more intimidating.

His lips stretched wide, revealing teeth that gleamed unsettlingly in the dim light. It was a smile devoid of warmth, filled instead with a sinister glee that hinted at some unspoken threat. I felt a cold sweat break out on my skin as his gaze locked onto mine, the tension in the room thickening with each passing second.

Anya turned towards the new visitor and instantly ran towards me and hid behind my legs in fear while she began to tremble.

That was already a bad sign to me.

The man's grin slowly faded, his expression becoming stoic, as another person walked in front of him.

The moment I saw this second person, my body instinctively reacted.

My posture straightened, and I found myself staring at this man, my mind suddenly clear of any unnecessary thoughts. His presence commanded my full attention, an automatic response that I couldn't control.

"Ah, well if it isn't my favorite nephew!" The man with dark hair greeted me warmly as his eyes fell upon me.

He had a head of thick, raven-black hair that contrasted sharply with his pale skin. His eyes, a piercing blue, twinkled with a mixture of amusement and affection.

He was dressed impeccably in a tailored suit, the kind that bespoke both wealth and an unerring sense of style.

His voice was a striking contrast to the tension that had filled the room moments earlier, carrying a familiar, almost affectionate tone that momentarily dispelled the unease.

But I knew that tone was full of shit, and this man was a master manipulator who didn't give a shit about anything but advancing his goals.

One of many people I didn't want to see again.

"Hello Mathew."

Authors note:

Unfortunately this isn't a continuation of the fanfic. I simply had a couple of spare chapters I wanted to upload.

I am currently trying a new project, which is basically my own novel but I will be uploading it as a fanfic since honestly I write mainly for interaction with people.

I write to share ideas and run through scenarios with people, so I hope you will try my new project out.

It is called "Eternal Heir."

Do not subscribe to patreon for this fanfic anymore thanks.
