Chapter 5: Chapter 5: clark learned flight
At the moment, he wanted to know where his strength stood in the DC universe.
Shazam's strength is as erratic as that of the rest of the superheroes. When he is a superhero, he matches Darkseid's strength. He and Darkseid are wielded as the two unstoppable forces of magic.
But when Shazam, as a superhero, actually struggles with third-rate villains, although there might also be reasons why Billy Batson is immature,.
But it also shows that Shazam's combat power is not stable. Clark listened to Dane's proposal, thought about it carefully, and agreed. In fact, he has always been curious about where his limit is.
"Are we going to fight here?" He looked at the Rock of Eternity, and it didn't feel like a suitable place.
"Come with me." Dane said, walked through the long corridor, and came to the secret room with countless doors suspended.
He randomly selected a door and walked in, and Clark followed after seeing it. Through the door, the two came to an empty valley.
"So that's the meaning of your reminder earlier." Clark exclaim.
"Not bad. I plan to set up portals in various places around the world so I can travel wherever I want in the future."
Dane looked at the surroundings carefully and was relieved only after making sure that there were no human settlements nearby.
"Then shall we begin?" Dane felt excited as he prepared to engage in combat. It was "Achilles' courage," a constant presence, that fueled his strong fighting spirit and optimistic outlook.
Huh? Is my compatibility with Shazam's power that good?
"Let's begin!" Clark's reminder spurred Dane into action as he dashed forward at superhuman speed.
Dane chose not to rely solely on air superiority, instead opting to land on the ground and face Clark on equal footing.
Both possessed superspeed and reflexes. Dane could discern the trajectory of Clark's fist, even as it moved at supersonic speeds.
Raising his right fist, Dane tapped into "The Power of Hercules," granting him strength rivaling Superman, while "The Courage of Achilles" fortified him with an indestructible steel-like body.
Their fists collided, unleashing a shockwave that obliterated everything in its path, sending Clark hurtling backward.
"Clark, don't hold back. I am a 'God'; I will not die," Dane declared.
Having realized this truth, Clark relinquished his restraint. His eyes glowed red with thermal vision as he unleashed.
Though Dane knew Clark's abilities well, he intentionally tested his own limits, refusing to back down.
Gathering the divine power within him, Dane called forth the lightning of Zeus, a force capable of shattering even the mother box.
Empowered by Dane's will, "Zeus' divine power" surged through him, enveloping his body in thunderous energy and illuminating his eyes with white lightning.
As Clark released red rays, Dane countered with his own blazing white lightning.
The clash of energies caused massive explosions, scorching the earth with intense heat and sending shockwaves rippling through the air.
Both Dane and Clark were propelled upside down, coming to a halt simultaneously.
Dane's feet carved deep furrows into the ground as he observed Clark's tattered clothing, evidence of the ferocity of their battle.
"Come again?" Dane challenged.
Clark, brimming with fighting spirit, replied, "Okay!"
Once more, they faced each other, fists poised. The valley ruptured, and the river flowed in reverse. Clark was propelled backward, his steel-like body shattering a distant hill as he passed through to the other side.
Suspended in mid-air, Clark spotted Dane hurtling towards him from a distance. Unable to evade Dane's oncoming fist, Clark found himself without solid ground to anchor him.
In a desperate move, he halted his descent, defying gravity and causing Dane's meticulously aimed punch to miss its mark.
"Oh?" Dane, thrown off balance, fell back to the ground and looked up at Clark, who remained suspended in mid-air.
Feeling excited, Dane propelled himself skyward, matching Clark's elevation.
"It looks like you've learned to fly too," Dane remarked.
Indeed, Superman possessed the ability to fly but had never consciously utilized it until now, inspired by Dane's effortless flight.
Observing Clark's newfound skill with a smile, Dane offered his assistance. "If you want to fly well, you have to practice. I'll help you."
The battle was far from over. With those words, Dane surged forward, recalling a scene from the movie "Man of Steel" and executing a move he dubbed Fist.
Harnessing the momentum of his flight, Dane delivered a powerful blow to Clark's face, sending him airborne once more.
Though the punch landed, Clark's resilient Kryptonian physiology ensured minimal damage. With renewed vigor, he swiftly regained his composure.
Dane sighed, realizing the impending challenge when Zode's gang arrived. The battle ahead would be arduous.
Clark adjusted his body, mastering the technique of flight with increasing ease. With a powerful blow from his fist, he struck Dane with force. The impact echoed colliding, sending Dane crashing down and carving out a massive crater.
He heeded the warning and retreated, narrowly avoiding Clark's fist as it sliced through the air, grazing the tip of his nose.
"Heh, didn't expect a sneak attack?" Dane quipped, swiftly retaliating with a kick to Clark's abdomen.
The force of the blow propelled Clark backward, soaring into the sky. Meanwhile, the ground beneath Dane's feet sank as he exerted his strength to free himself.
As Clark remained disoriented in the air, Dane seized the opportunity, ascending swiftly to deliver a fist to Clark's jaw, adding momentum to his ascent.
Dane, undeterred, maneuvered his body to evade the incoming rays. Then, with a flick of his left hand, he conjured a bolt of lightning that struck Clark with precision.
Would Dane have missed such a great opportunity? So he quickly flew up and struck Clark in the jaw with his fist, adding another force to his height.
Though Clark stiffened momentarily, he eventually plummeted to the ground with a resounding thud.
Perplexed, Dane wasted no time and swiftly landed, approaching Clark's fallen form. Without hesitation, he summoned a bolt of lightning with a finger of his left hand, directing it towards Clark.
