chapter 24
24 – Satan’s Gun
“Bur, are you back already?”
Floren and I got out of the elven forest and ran to the smithy where Taliesin was.
When you open the entrance, you can see Taliesin hammering with heat.
“Has anything happened in the meantime?”
At my question, Taliesin said, wiping the sweat from his forehead.
“Isn’t it too short a time for anything to happen? It’s only been three days since you left.”
As he said that, he started looking around the entrance.
“By the way, did you not find Floren?”
“It can’t be.”
Floren, who had been hiding behind his back, appeared voila.
Soon after, his pupils widened.
“Floren?!”
“Long time no see, Taliesin? It’s still there.”
“You’re all right—!”
He approached with a happy face and tried to grab Floren’s hand.
However, I got in the way between the two.
“?”
‘Where’s this old man doing some hacking?’
Even if it wasn’t an impure intention, it looked a little like it in terms of aesthetics.
A man who looks like a pervert holds the hand of a beautiful girl?
Isn’t the picture a bit young?
“The two of you will solve the hoepo later, how long did it take to make the weapon?”
“Almost half done. I think it will be finished in the next four days or so.”
I nodded my head in satisfaction.
“Thank God. Were there any inconveniences?”
“Nothing at all. Rather, the problem is that it is too comfortable. The demons who didn’t pay attention to me until just a few days ago are now using honorific words for me. What is your real identity?”
Taliesin looked at me with longing eyes, as if asking for some information.
However, I had no intention of telling you.
As I said before, this old man’s game bothered me a lot.
“Didn’t you say you wouldn’t ask because you lost the bet?”
“Kuhm. It’s really too much.”
As Taliesin kept his mouth shut, Floren added a word.
“I’m a human who makes a contract with the King of Spirits, so what… Not surprising.”
She made a fuss about her all the way here.
She bombarded me with questions about how I was able to sign a contract with Sylphid and how strong I am.
I didn’t get a single answer right, though.
“Now, let’s stop chatting and get down to business. Isn’t there a long way to go?”
“You are a vicious client. Shouldn’t you at least give me some time to catch my breath?”
“Time is money. Once this matter is dealt with, I will compensate the two of you without regret.”
“Okay. I know.”
After Floren said that, she picked up the paper lying on the workbench.
That’s the picture of the shotgun I drew for Taliesin the other day.
If there is one difference, it is different from my crooked drawing, that it is drawn in detail like a blueprint.
“Oh. How is it?”
Her pupils as she reads the blueprint move quickly from side to side, as if reading at speed.
Soon after, Floren’s expression slowly turned into admiration.
“Amazing. Simple on the outside, but complex on the inside, I just love it. How did you come up with this idea, Taliesin?”
“Floren, this is not the weapon I designed.”
“Huh?”
Floren makes a puzzled expression as if asking what that means.
“A weapon designed by the man next to you.”
“!”
She looked at me with her mouth open.
I was quite surprised because I hadn’t assumed that I would have made it.
“… Are you in our class too?”
It was truly a compliment.
Because Uriguanya meant a genius in one field.
‘… It’s embarrassing for nothing.’
In their eyes, it may look like I made it, but in fact, I copied it from someone, so my conscience stings.
I was cool, so I quickly changed the subject.
“Now that I’ve seen the picture, I’d like to explain it roughly: I’m going to pull the trigger here and let the mana come out.”
“I know. I’ve already figured out what to do. It’s a simple matter of drawing a dynamic mana circuit inside and designing it. Output will be weak. Are you okay?”
I shook my head.
“Raise your mana output as much as possible. Enough to blow up this forge entirely.”
“hahahaha, that sounds funny. Do you think that would be possible?”
“I think it’s possible for you.”
As if Floren was in a good mood at my words, she quietly lifted her clothes and opened her mouth again.
“I can. But the problem is that you can’t stand it.”
“I can’t stand it?”
“The higher the output, the higher the user’s burden. Would your hand melt just by pulling the button? What about recoil? If you spew mana all at once, your body would fly backwards due to inertia. Well, it’s no longer a weapon. It is just a tool to aid suicide.”
“It doesn’t matter.”
“… Are you crazy? Are you going to die?”
“No, I will not die. It doesn’t matter, go ahead.”
You can’t call it a shotgun unless it’s powerful.
It’s just a neighborhood gun.
I had to make it really f*cking hard.
Otherwise, I wouldn’t have picked a gun.
“… I don’t know, even if I die, it’s not my fault.”
Seeing my determined expression, Floren said with a face of despair.
“I will believe it. Make it the maximum output you can.”
“Ha… I will try.”
“Then, see you in four days.”
It was only then that I was able to leave the smithy with a satisfied expression.
**
“Dermian.”
After leaving the forge, I returned to the monarchy with Seina waiting outside.
Surprisingly, the castle is not far from the smithy, so I was able to get there pretty quickly.
“Yes, did you call?”
As soon as I returned, the place I found was not a bed, but an office.
In front of me, my aide, Dermian, was waiting for my words with his head bowed.
“Tell the Western Mage Tower firmly. If you go after an alchemist named Floren, I won’t forgive you.”
I made an appointment with Floren the other day.
I’ll take measures so that I won’t chase you again in the Magic Tower.
And it was so simple for me.
Because all it takes is one word.
“Okay. As you said, I will keep it firmly.”
“And, bring the twins.”
Upon hearing my words, Darmian’s complexion hardened slightly.
“By any chance, did they offend the monarch again?”
I was a little taken aback because he seemed like he was going to kill me right away.
“I just have something to look at.”
“Okay. Is there anything else you want me to do?”
I stretched out my hand as if I had become, and Dermian lowered his head and went out of the office.
I let out a breath and brushed his hair.
‘Today ends the question of defense power.’
**
Walking around the outskirts of the Monarchy, there was a sparring ground.
I heard that it is mainly used by knights for training.
Today I decided to use this place.
“My lord? Why did you call me?”
“Why did you call me?”
Marie, a small Rose, tilts her head.
“You guys should help me today.”
“We?”
“What can I do to help?”
There must be time left. Today, I was thinking of making good use of my abilities.
These two twins were perfect for the right person.
“Hit me.”
“… ….”
For a moment, the twins’ expressions hardened.
It was only natural that I cut everything before and after.
“Don’t get me wrong. For my experiment… “
“I am more of a hitter… The right one is better.”
“I am the one who gets stepped on….”
‘Huh?’
What are they talking about?
I said urgently with a puzzled face.
“No, not that… !”
“It’s okay, we respect the lord. Can I step on it with my feet?”
“Can I step on it?”
He shook his head vigorously and denied it.
“It’s not like that, it’s just asking me to use magic.”
I almost got caught up in the pace of the twins.
My mental strength is over 999, but strangely, I keep getting flustered when I stand in front of them.
“Magic isn’t fun….”
“Let’s do it anyway. The monarch can be happy.”
At Rose’s words, Marie spoke as if she couldn’t do anything about it.
“Okay, what kind of magic can I use?”
“I wish I could lower the temperature around me. Is it possible?”
“It’s easy.”
Rose beats her own chest as if to leave her alone.
Seeing that, Marie hurriedly spoke to me.
“Hey, Lord! What shall I do?”
His eyes were full of anticipation.
She thought she would be disappointed if I asked her to stay still, so she answered in moderation.
“You too help Rose.”
“Yes!”
Like that, the two twins began to chant magic, regardless of which one came first.
-Δανειστείτε τη δύναμη του κρύου αέρα.
A blue light began to circulate in their hands.
It began to spread into the atmosphere as fine ice crystals.
‘Wow.’
The scene was like a painting.
It’s not that the background and magic are beautiful.
The twins were just f*cking pretty.
As I thought so, my body began to tremble.
Rumbling.
‘… Can’t this be done with defensive power?’
I wondered what would happen if it didn’t attack me directly, but indirectly through the atmosphere.
And, I soon found out the answer.
“Is the temperature still lowering?”
“Yes. Is it cold?”
I shook my head.
At first, it was cold enough to make my bones ache.
However, it was felt that the lower the temperature, the more the defense mechanism was applied.
In other words, it was said that defense would be applied to anything that could threaten my life, either directly or indirectly.
‘It’s a real f*cking dog.’
“You can stop now.”
At my words, the twins stopped casting magic.
I nodded with a satisfied face and thought.
‘As long as I don’t poison myself, do I have any weaknesses?’
Of course I wasn’t sure.
Dokdo, because the defense mechanism may activate and be purified.
It is impossible to say 100% unless you try it yourself.
But honestly, what’s the point of poisoning?
Isn’t it virtually invincible?
It was time to think so.
“My lord! Shall I step on you now?”
“Should I step on it barefoot? Or not… “
“What are you talking about!”
I almost got caught up in the pace again.
**
And three days later.
The long-awaited weapon is complete.
