Delayed Transfer

Chapter 394

“Why stop at eight computers? Isn’t more lucrative if you increase the number of computers that the customer could rent?” Hamil asked.

“It would be better for me if we start with a fewer computer since it would be easier to control. Setting up the net café is simple but what is complicated is setting up the game. Since the Star Wars game is a multiplayer game I would need to set up what we call servers, which is a bunch of computers that would house the world of Star Wars. That meant a separate tent so I need your help to set them up. Also please make sure that the tents or buildings that would house the computers are weatherproof because computers are very sensitive and would malfunction if they get wet. They’re also prone to heating so the temperature should be cold inside the net café and the server tent.”

Mark then pulled up some video clips of examples of servers and internet café although, at this point, the café should not be called internet since technically speaking the connection would be local area network only.

“I would recommend that the internet café that we would set up would be adjustable in size since there’s a good chance that we would need to add more computers in the future,” Lorendo suggested.

“Also, since you are planning to charge a very high price for this café, the facility should be luxurious to prevent any complaint from the rich young men and women who would use the computers. How much are we going to charge the customers to join this multiplayer game?” Eilintraee asked.

“We can talk about that once we set up the internet café. We will need to do some testing first so that we would know the value of the game,” Hamil said.

“When are we going to set up this internet café?” Solinae asked.

“I can set up the computers as soon as the tents are up,” Mark said.

“Then let’s do it now. I’m so glad that this field where we’re located is so huge. Let’s set up the tent beside the theater section. I’ll make sure that the tents are luxurious,” Hamil said then after that the circus leaders left.

Since Mark knew that the tent construction would probably take Hamil and the others at least a couple of hours, he decided to check the orphanage to make sure that it didn’t encounter any issues because of the donation that he gave. He kept calling it the “supermarket” since it looked like one but he shouldn’t call it that since the orphanage was actually not selling the products in the warehouse and everything there was for their own use.

He cast invisibility and flew to the orphanage as fast as he could so he would arrive there quickly. When he reached the gate after a couple of minutes, he flew down and dispelled the invisibility spell.

Mark saw the children playing in the yard so when he knocked on the gate, the children stopped and invited him in.

“Where are Miss Mary and Miss Lucy?” Mark asked.

“Miss Lucy is inside the house and Miss Mary is in the supermarket checking out all the items there!” The kids shouted and they led him to the house that was converted as a supermarket slash warehouse that was located beside the main house.

“Miss Mary, Mark is here!” The kids shouted when they entered the supermarket.

Mark saw Mary rushing toward them.

“I’m so glad you’re here! I still have so many questions regarding the items,” Mary said the moment she saw Mark.

Mark spent an hour advising Mary on how he could use the items in the market. He also provided Mary with can openers since she mentioned that she was having a hard time opening the cans using her knife. He also spent the time to add more items to the supermarket with long shelf lives but then decided to add a section in one little corner that could house items that had short shelf lives and advised Mary that the items there should be consumed immediately. It was nothing complicated, just plastic-sealed pastries, chips, and other snacks.

After that, Mary was so focused on her notebook that Mark had to repeat saying that he was leaving a few times before Mary looked at him to thank him for coming then she immediately went back to her notebook consisting of recipes that would use the items in the supermarket.

He did notice that a lot of the older children were playing near the supermarket and it felt like they were guarding the place. He was glad that there were no issues. After saying goodbye to the kids he immediately left. He used his invisibility spell and the flight spell to return to the circus immediately.

When Mark arrived in the circus, the kids were playing in front of their RV together with their friends using the small electric golf carts modified to look like Star Wars spaceships. When the twins saw him, they shouted that they were hungry so provided the kids with hotdog sandwiches and cans of healthy fruit juice. To make it easier for him, he filled out a box with several hotdog sandwiches and cans of fruit juice so that when he replicated the box, it would contain several items at once.

The hotdog sandwiches looked delicious since they were filled with different ingredients and sauces and they smelled so good that a lot of the circus customers who were roaming around asked if they were for sale and when Mark told them that they were not, the customers watched in disappointment.

“Do you want me to sell them for you? I can watch the kids while selling the hotdog sandwiches,” Lisa said.

“Milena and I agreed that she would handle selling the items and I’ll just let her continue to do that,” Mark said to Lisa.

After snacking, the children went back to playing and even the very young ones like Liriel and some of the other children were playing as well so he left them with Lisa, Lisa, of course, wasn’t alone. Some of the mothers of the children were there as well looking after the kids.

Mark then went to the theater section to check the progress of the internet café that was supposed to be constructed beside it and he saw the two tents that were very conspicuous. It was sectioned off by some kind of plants with beautiful flowers and knew that it was one of the elven sister’s spells. He was truly impressed at the ability of the circus people to construct something elegant and beautiful in such a short amount of time. The two tents that would house the internet café looked like one of those tents constructed for the royal household in the Middle East on Earth in some of the stories he had read and the tent that was supposed to house the server was behind it. The path to the entrance of the tent was lined up with stones bordered by bushes with flowers.

The small gate entrance was guarded by a couple of people and Mark recognized them as part of the circus. There was no ticket booth like some of the other circus acts because as planned, the internet café manager would be inside the tent as well behind a computer so that meant the total number of computers that Mark would need to install was nine. For the servers, he thought that four computers would be enough for now.
