Delayed Transfer

Chapter 398

At around six in the evening, Mark told everyone that he would be gone for at least an hour so he could have lunch with his family but he’d be back so they could ask their questions about the game when he returned.

When he arrived at the RV, Mark immediately replicated the food that everyone wanted to eat.

“Mark, are you going back to the computer tent later? Can we come with you and watch the game?” Aaron asked and Mark said that he would.

“I have a question. Why did you let us play the other Star Wars game and this one you wouldn’t let us play?” Isaac asked.

“Games from where I came from have what we call age rating due to certain factors that can be seen inside them like violence and bad words being said by the characters inside the game. I should have checked the rating of the other Star Wars game before I let you play but then again, this place’s moral values are too different from where I came from because of the existence of monsters that could destroy a village, even a city any given time. You know what, I’ll talk to Norunta and the elven sisters. If they said that you can play the game, I’ll let you play the game,” Mark said to the twins and the boys cheered as if it were already given that the witch and the elven sisters would allow them to play.

After dinner, Mark and the kids followed by Milena, Lisa, and Nedertu went to Norunta to ask for her take on allowing the kids to play the game.

When they arrived in Norunta’s carriage, they saw the witch teaching her two apprentices but she stopped when she saw them.

“Young wizard and his siblings! What can I do for you?” The witch asked.

Mark explained to Norunta the situation about games and age ratings and the witch laughed.

“I’m guessing that in the place where you’re from, the kids were very protected and didn’t encounter violence from monsters in their daily lives am I right?” Norunta asked and Mark nodded.

“Just go ahead and let the kids play. It’s just a game and any violence in the games will not be more than what they have encountered and will encounter in their lives,” The witch said and the boys cheered.

Mark thanked the witch and told the twins they didn’t need to ask the elven sisters. He left with everyone to go to the convenience store to replicate the items Milena would sell the next day. While they were walking Mark turned to the boys.

“Okay fine, I’ll let you play the game but there will be a schedule. You’re only allowed to play for two hours after lunch. During the morning you have your schooling with Rendira and on those days you’re not supposed to be taught you can play outside. After lunch, you can play the Star Wars The Old Republic game and after you play the game, you will need to take a nap. Once you wake up you can play with your friends until dinner, okay?”

“Do they need to go to the internet café to play the game or can they play it in the RV?” Nedertu asked.

“They would need to go to the café since if anybody wants to play the online game, they will need to be connected to the servers there. I think it would be best if we had our own internet café. We can set up a few computers that can only be used by our family and friends for free. We can create a sign-up sheet so those who want to play can sign up. Can any of you handle the planning and execution of the circus net café for friends and family?”

“let me work on it! I’ll gather a few friends of mine then we’ll make it,” Nedertu said.

“Just remember that it should be set up near the server. Possibly a tent behind the server or wherever as long as it's near it since we need to connect the cables  to the servers.”

It would have been better if Mark could set up a wireless connection but that was beyond him for now. Once he could return to Earth, he could ask Sam to ask someone to work on that.

After a few minutes of replicating the items that Milena would sell the next day, they headed directly to the internet café. When they entered, everyone was focused on playing, and from what Mark saw, no one had any questions for him. The twins saw Toby so they went directly towards him to watch him play the game. Milena and Lisa, carrying Liriel, headed to the elven sisters to watch them play the game. The interesting part about the elven sisters’ gameplay was they were playing together compared to the others who were playing alone.

Hamil arrived after a few minutes and headed directly to where Mark was sitting.

“I had to pacify a lot of our very rich customers. They were extremely curious about the café, especially when those two young people leaked out that they were traveling the universe as Jedis inside this tent. When they took a break to eat and go to the bathroom, they boasted to their friends about what they were doing. I needed to set a few more guards to make sure that the café was surrounded so one could sneak in,” Hamil said while pointing at the two customers that they allowed to join as testers.

“Is everything all right with the Warp Gate?”

“Yes. Actually, Narcone is surprised at how many mana stones they were earning in the portal so right now the execution of the warp gate is being jointly handled by us and the city.”

Mark and Hamil then went to the elven sisters' computers. He tapped Monterra to get her attention.

“What time are you planning to close the café?” Mark asked.

“We’re planning to close the café before the last warp gate execution,” Monterra answered and she immediately went back to playing the game.

Since it was getting late, Mark said to Hamil that he would be leaving for the night since it seemed like the game was running smoothly. He then called the twins who pouted but obeyed him and Liriel was already asleep in Lisa’s arms.

While they were walking, Lisa informed him that Rendira would start teaching the kids again the day after tomorrow, and when the boys heard it they wore expressions of despair on their faces.

“Sheesh, you’re so dramatic. It’s just three hours. When I was younger I had to spend much more time in school.”

“But we’re the only ones who’s being tutored!” Isaac whined.

“Well, since you mentioned that you wanted to be wizards, schooling is a part of that but if you just want to be a regular circus performer or a mediocre swordsman diving the dungeons I’ll go ahead and ask Rendira to stop your schooling. You will have to say goodbye to your dreams of having your own dragons or traveling the universe in your spaceships though,” Mark said calmly.

“I’m sorry. We don’t want to stop schooling,” Isaac said contritely and Mark just laughed.

When they arrived at the RV, he took Liriel from Lisa, led the kids to their room, and tucked them in. They were asleep in a few minutes and he could understand that since their day was very busy. Even Mark was a bit tired so after the kids were asleep, he took a shower and went to sleep.
