Demon Legacy

Chapter 10: The Training of the Demon Girl

The King looked down at the Demon Girl, his expression stern. "You cannot control time if your body still runs on blood."

"No! I want to change my blood so it can be numbers," she insisted, her eyes burning with determination.

"Why?" he asked, intrigued.

"My blood is my pride! My demon pride is my blood!" she declared fiercely.

"Very well," he said, a hint of a smirk playing on his lips. "Let's train your blood so I can change it whenever I want."

"How?" she challenged, crossing her arms defiantly.

"Drink this." He handed her a vial filled with a shimmering blue liquid.

She eyed it suspiciously but took it anyway. "Fine."

As she drank, the King explained, "It's the essence of the Time God heir combined with a touch of red essence."

Immediately, an intense burning surged through her veins as if her very blood was being rewritten from the inside out. She collapsed, gasping as her body rejected the transformation from blood to numerical essence.

"I knew it," the King said, his voice steady. "Rewind her body, but leave only the numbers intact."

As she came to, the King smiled down at her. "Ah, the little princess is awake."

"What did you say about the red essence?" she asked, eyes narrowing in suspicion.

He paused. "You mean the demon tear?"

Rage flared in her eyes. In a flash, she caught him off guard. "Why did you make me drink that? It's the same kind of essence that hurt my father!"

"How?" the King asked, genuinely taken aback.

She clenched her fists, her voice trembling with emotion. "The half-demon villain used a similar essence, and it's tied to my family's suffering!"

Realizing the depth of her pain, the King softened. "I'm sorry. But we must train you to be stronger so you won't be hurt again."

Demon Girl stood, her resolve firm. "You're right."

"Get in this room," he commanded, pointing to a small chamber.

"Why?" she replied, confused.

"In this room, seconds will turn into hours," he explained. "I need you to sit down and focus. This will teach you that time isn't fixed—it's shaped by perception. You'll learn to adjust your sense of time for strategy, speeding up reactions or slowing them down."

Before she could protest, he pushed her into the room and locked the door. Sitting down, she tried to understand. She focused, attempting to force her mind to exist outside of time.

But her body remembered—an hour would feel like just a second. Time blurred, the fire in her veins intensified, and she felt trapped in a pit of agony.

Determined, she envisioned pushing time to flow faster within her own mind. Yet, as she succeeded, her body still lived within time, amplifying her pain.

Her body began to break down, glowing with numbers. The King, observing through the door, noted the danger. He knew if she remained in this state for another hour, she might lose her mind.

He opened the door cautiously, stepping in to retrieve her. But as the door swung open, she shot past him at full speed.

"Wow, you did it!" he exclaimed.

She turned, eyes blazing. "I did it? Are you crazy? That was agonizing! It's the first time I felt pain in my mind!"

"Try to rewind that glass," the King suggested, eager to see her progress.

With determination, she concentrated and managed to turn the glass back into sand. "I did it!" she shouted triumphantly.

"You did," he acknowledged. "Now, get back in that room. You need to learn to stop time."

She stared at him with an incredulous expression. "You have to kill me first!"

The King chuckled. "I was just joking, but you truly need to learn how to stop time."
