Demon Legacy

Chapter 14: Demon girl back in hell

The battlefield shimmered under the strain of opposing forces, sparks of frozen time colliding with Demon Girl's shadow flames. The air buzzed with raw energy as she glared at the King of Time, her fingers twitching with anticipation. Her veins glowed faintly, pulsing in erratic rhythms, a visual testament to the chaos within her.

The King stood firm, his presence unyielding despite the tremors in the earth around them. "Demon Girl," he said, his voice cutting through the tension like a blade, "you need to go back to Hell. Fight to reclaim your kingdom."

Her laughter echoed, dark and mocking. "Back to Hell? And why should I listen to you?"

The King's gaze softened, almost pitying. "Because time isn't conquered through anger or pride. It's conquered through understanding. If you want to prove your worth, face Kiki. Challenge him, and if you lose, use the threads of time to grow stronger."

At the mention of Kiki, her expression darkened. The shadows around her swirled, reacting to her fury. "Fine," she spat. "But don't even think about joining my fight. I want to kill Kiki alone."

The King's lips curled into a faint smile, his tone calm. "Good. I was never going to join. This is your battle."

Without another word, Demon Girl summoned a towering gate of obsidian. Its edges crackled with violet energy, swirling ominously. She glanced back at the King, her defiance unbroken. "Thanks, King. Don't follow me."

She stepped through the gate, the world around her bending and twisting until she emerged into the fiery depths of Hell. The searing heat and sulfuric air wrapped around her like an old, unwelcome friend. She took a deep breath, her sharp eyes scanning the chaos below.

"Scarlett," she whispered, her voice softer now.

A young girl stood at the edge of a crumbling platform, her silver hair shimmering against the blood-red skies. Scarlett turned, her golden eyes widening. "Big Sis! I knew you'd come back!" She ran toward Demon Girl, her arms outstretched.

Demon Girl caught her in a tight embrace, holding her little sister close. The warmth of the moment lingered, but her mind was elsewhere, already preparing for the war ahead. "Scarlett," she began, her voice breaking slightly. "I'm sorry for leaving you."

Scarlett pulled back, her expression confused. "What do you mean?"

Demon Girl sighed, her hand glowing faintly with time magic. "Forgive me."

Before Scarlett could react, the air around her froze. Time itself bent to Demon Girl's will, encasing Scarlett in a shimmering stasis. Her figure hovered, suspended in an unyielding moment.

"I can't let you see what I'm about to do," Demon Girl murmured, her tone heavy with guilt. She raised her hand, creating a portal that sent Scarlett far from Hell's chaos. "Stay safe, little sister."

Ascending into the sky, Demon Girl spread her arms, her voice booming across the desolate plains. "Demons of Hell, hear me! Our kingdom has fallen into disgrace! I am the true successor of Hell. I am a full demon! Yet look at what we've allowed: Kiki, a mere outsider, now reigns where he does not belong. And Scarlett? She is but a half-demon! Today, we reclaim what is rightfully ours!"

Her words ignited the gathered demons. Roars of fury rippled through the horde, their collective rage manifesting in flashes of fire and shadow. Weapons were raised, claws gleamed, and the skies darkened as their numbers surged.

Demon Girl's shadowy aura blazed brighter as she led the charge, the demons rallying behind her like a tidal wave. Their battle cries echoed as they stormed the gates of Kiki's fortress.

At the heart of the chaos stood Kiki, his figure a stark contrast to the turmoil around him. His dark robes fluttered in the wind, and his eyes glinted with a power that rivaled the King of Time himself. Time and shadows bent around him as if he were their master, their movements deliberate and precise.

Demon Girl landed before him, her gaze fierce. "Kiki," she growled, her voice laced with venom. "You have no right to Hell. You're not even a demon."

Kiki tilted his head, his expression calm yet tinged with amusement. "And you think you're the one to decide that?"

Her fists clenched, shadowy tendrils curling around her arms. "I am the heir of the Demon King and the Demon Queen! That makes me the only rightful ruler of Hell."

Kiki smirked. "Heir? Your power is impressive, but you're not ready for what it takes to rule."

Demon Girl lunged, her shadows striking with the ferocity of a storm. Kiki raised a hand, and the air around him shimmered as he bent time, slowing her attack just enough to sidestep it. The ground where her shadows struck exploded, sending shards of molten rock flying.

"You've gotten stronger," Kiki remarked, his tone unbothered. "But strength without control is just chaos."

Her rage flared, and she launched another attack, weaving flames and shadows into a colossal spear of destruction. Kiki countered, summoning a sphere of warped time that absorbed her strike. The energy dissipated with a deafening crack, leaving the two of them standing amidst the wreckage.

"You'll need more than that to kill me," Kiki said, his voice low and menacing.

Demon Girl gritted her teeth, summoning every ounce of her power. "Oh, don't worry," she snarled. "This is just the beginning."

They clashed again, their strikes shaking the foundations of Hell itself. Shadows and time swirled in chaotic harmony, their powers evenly matched. For every move she made, Kiki countered with equal precision. Their battle raged on, each strike a testament to their mastery—and their determination to dominate.

Meanwhile, in the distant throne room of Hell, the Demon Queen sat in eerie silence. Her crimson eyes glowed faintly as she leaned back, her fingers lightly tracing the armrest of her throne. She listened to the distant roars of battle, her lips curling into a faint smile.

"Another war," she muttered, her tone cold yet laced with amusement. Her gaze flickered with something deeper, something almost melancholic. "Demon Girl, you are just like your father."

Her words lingered in the suffocating air, heavy with the weight of memory and prophecy
