Chapter 54: Chapter 0047
After taking down the demons on the lowest floor, I finished about one-seventh of my quest. It only took a minute, but I'm pretty sure the next floors won't be as simple as this one.
The system mentioned that the demons get tougher on each floor, so if I've got that right, things will get harder from here.
Even with that in mind, I feel like I shouldn't face too much trouble until I get closer to the top floors, like the 5th, 6th, and 7th levels.
Right now, my health points are fine, but I might get tired after a while. Luckily, this quest doesn't have a time limit. So, if I get too exhausted to keep fighting after clearing a floor, I can just take a break before moving to the next one and let my energy come back.
The real issue is that there are still lots of unknowns. There are so many things I don't fully understand, so I can't be sure my plans will always work. My judgment could be off, so I need to stay ready for anything.
For some folks, it might sound like I'm being a bit of a downer, but to me, it just made more sense to think that way.
I had a ton more questions than answers right then, and I knew I needed to get them all sorted out. I had to be ready for whatever might come my way.
As I was lost in these thoughts, I finally made it to the second floor. My hunch about this place was spot on. From the outside, it looked like a perfectly built seven-story building, all set for people to live or work in. But inside, it felt almost empty, like there was nothing much going on.
But if you looked really closely, it was just like the cars I saw on the road below—completely wrecked. The building was destroyed. But why did this happen? Or maybe the real question should be, how did it happen?
The second floor was a total disaster zone, with broken beams sticking out everywhere like shattered bones. Bits of furniture were scattered all over the place, and pieces of glass were reflecting what little light there was. Loose wires dangled dangerously, and the floor was a chaotic mess of cracked tiles and twisted metal.
While I was taking this all in, I suddenly heard a loud noise from the opposite side of where I was standing. I figured this was my signal to stop staring at the destruction and start focusing on the demons I needed to deal with to complete the quest.
I quickly made my way across the debris, stepping over shards of glass and twisted metal to get to the other side. As soon as I got there, unlike before, I immediately spotted the demons standing there, facing me. There weren't just one or two; I counted up to 15 of them.
It was the same number I had faced on the first floor, but this time, all 15 demons were bunched up together in a group. This would make fighting them a lot tougher, especially since these demons were a bit stronger than the last bunch.
Their levels ranged from at least 13 to as high as 16.
I was at level 25, almost hitting 26, with just a little bit of experience needed to level up. So, was it going to be a problem to take on these demons? I didn't think so, at least not at that moment.
These demons seemed a bit different from the ones I fought before. They were taller and looked more muscular.
As soon as they spotted me, they didn't waste any time. They started coming at me with a clear intent to kill. It was like a race among them to see who could get to me first, and judging by their determination, it seemed more like a contest of who would get the first chance to take me down.
Unlike the demons I faced during my missions with the Demon Slayer Corps, these seemed more like mindless zombies, moving without any consciousness at all.
[Defeat The Enemies - 0/15]
As I watched the horde of 15 demons closing in on me, I instinctively took a step back.
Surrounded by the ruins of the second floor, I paused to evaluate the battleground. The floor was a chaotic tangle of broken beams and debris, which could be used to create barriers between me and the advancing demons. I noticed a partially collapsed pillar nearby that might offer a strategic advantage as a high ground.

[HP: 610/610]
The fifteen demons charged at me like a menacing horde. I took a deep breath to steady myself and launched into the Third Form: Loathsome Moon, Chains. My blade swung through the air with a series of chained crescent slashes, arcs of light slicing through the dim surroundings. The demons in the front ranks staggered back, their advance momentarily stopped.

As they regrouped, their wild growls echoing through the hollow building, I smoothly shifted into a defensive stance, using the Second Form: Pearl Flower Moongazing. My blade moved gracefully, parrying their vicious attacks with precise crescent slashes. Each parry sent a vibration through the hilt of my sword, but I held my ground, standing firm amidst the debris.
[Fatigue: 05/100]
[HP: 610/610]
Seeing the need to split them up, I swiftly maneuvered through the scattered furniture and rubble. My agility let me weave through the chaos, drawing a few demons away from the main group. Once I had them isolated, I executed the First Form: Dark Moon, Evening Palace. My blade delivered swift, crescent-shaped slashes that cut through the air with deadly precision.
[Defeated Enemies: 7/15]
The remaining demons charged forward, rapidly closing the gap between us. I noticed a fallen piece of furniture nearby and used it to propel myself upwards, gaining a temporary vantage point. From there, I unleashed the Fifth Form: Moon Spirit Calamitous Eddy, a whirlwind of slashes that erupted around me, scattering the demons and breaking up their formation.
[MP: 530/580]
[Defeated Enemies: 10/15]
Landing back on the ground, I kept my movements smooth and fluid, maintaining some distance as the demons regrouped. I watched their patterns closely and noticed one particularly aggressive demon leading the charge. To conserve my MP, I decided to stick with the First Form, avoiding high-cost techniques. I darted in and out, delivering precise slashes with each quick move.
[Defeated Enemies: 13/15]
With only two demons left, I focused all my attention on them. I moved swiftly, my feet barely grazing the ground as I danced around their attacks, my blade a blur of motion as it struck with precision. The final demon fell, its form dissolving into shadows, marking the end of the battle.
[Defeated Enemies: 15/15]
Breathing heavily but steadily, I took in the scene around me. The floor was now clear, and the threat had been neutralized. I found a secure spot amidst the debris to rest and let my body recover from the exertion. The battles ahead would likely be more challenging, but this victory was easy.

MP: 530/580
HP: 610/610
"That was easy!" I thought to myself.
Still, I knew the next fights wouldn't be as straightforward. Yet, I felt that there was no reason to worry—at least not until I reached the fifth or sixth floor.
With the battlefield clear and the immediate threat gone, I decided to take things one step at a time and save thoughts of the future for later. That seemed like the best approach for both me and this quest.
[Defeat Enemies, Floor 2: 15/15 (completed)]
[Exp. Earned - 1,000]
[Level - 25 > 26 (Exp. 15,560 needed to Level up)]
[Stat Points: +10 (Including Level Up Bonus)]
Leveling up in the middle of a quest was a first for me, and I hadn't even realized it was possible.
"But anyways," I thought, "if I have stat points to use, I should put them to good use before moving on to the next floor."
I took a moment to consider how best to allocate my new stat points, thinking about where they might be most effective for the challenges ahead.
That's the plan.
First , let's open the Player Profile...

Alright, I've got 10 points to spread out now!
At first, I dumped a lot of stat points into strength, but then I switched it up, going for intelligence and vitality to boost my HP and MP.
This time, I think I'll try to keep things balanced. The nice thing is, my stats are improving pretty evenly.
"I'm gonna put 2 points into agility, 2 into intelligence, 4 into sense, and 1 into vitality,"
I feel like this will balance things out a bit. I'm not entirely sure if it's the perfect choice, but I'll have to face a tough battle to see if this is the right path or not.
[Vitality: 61 + 1 = 62]
[HP: 610 + 10 = 620]
[Agility: 58 + 2 = 60]
[Intelligence: 58 + 2 = 60]
[MP: 580 + 20 = 600]
[Sense: 56 + 4 = 60]
Great, that sounds good for now.
Alright, let's move on to the next level, which is the 3rd floor. So far, we've finished 2 out of the 7 floors.
I'm curious about how long it has taken to finish all the quests up to this point. I wonder if there's a chance the demon slayer corps might give me a new mission, but honestly, I doubt the crow could locate me.
I can't help but wonder what would happen in that case.
Anyway, let's stay focused on this quest.
