Chapter 27: The Child...Hasn't Gone Far Yet
---
"Ding! Congratulations to the host for beheading the Silver Wolf King and gaining 0.2 attribute points."
A cold, mechanical voice echoed in Ryuji's ears.
Hearing this, a small smile crept across Ryuji's face. He'd learned over the past few days that killing stronger prey yielded far more attribute points than hunting ordinary animals like chickens and ducks.
Over time, he had begun to understand the system's rules: the stronger the creature he defeated, the more attribute points he earned. While killing lesser creatures like chickens and ducks gave fewer points, they could still accumulate gradually.
But taking down a powerful beast like the Silver Wolf King came with greater rewards—and greater risks.
"I wonder how many points I'd gain from slaying a demon," Ryuji murmured, his eyes glinting with anticipation.
Shaking his head with a smile, he turned his attention to his attribute panel.

**Attribute Points Available:** 0.53
---
Over the past few days, including the 0.2 points he had just earned from killing the Silver Wolf King, Ryuji had amassed a total of 0.53 attribute points. The daily hunts had gradually contributed to this total.
Looking at the points he had accumulated, excitement bubbled within Ryuji. Unable to hold back any longer, he decided to invest all 0.5 points into his "Sun Breathing" technique.
As the points were added, Ryuji suddenly felt as though a massive bell had rung deep within him, the sound reverberating through his mind, causing a brief moment of dizziness. At the same time, countless memories of training in Sun Breathing flooded his thoughts.
It felt as if he had lived through countless days and nights, repeatedly practicing the technique, training from dawn to dusk, day after day.
As these memories circulated, Ryuji's understanding of Sun Breathing grew clearer and deeper.
After a few intense minutes, the sensations subsided.
"Phew..." Ryuji let out a heavy breath. The headache from the sudden flood of information had been excruciating, as if his mind had been torn apart.
But the pain was worth it. The strength now surging through his body, along with his newfound comprehension of Sun Breathing, filled him with joy.
Heart pounding, Ryuji took a step forward.
*Whoosh!* The sound of the wind rushing past his ears was noticeable—his speed had increased significantly, and not just speed; his strength had also been enhanced.
Although his physical abilities had improved, Ryuji could feel that his body needed time to adjust to the sudden increase in power. Mastery would come with practice.
Satisfied with his progress, he opened his attribute panel again:
---
**Name:** Ryuji
**Physique:** 1.5 (Normal adult: 1.0)
**Dexterity:** 1.5 (Normal adult: 1.0)
**Strength:** 1.5 (Normal adult: 1.0)
**Spirit:** 1.70 (Normal adult: 1.0)
**Breathing Style:** Sun Breathing (1.1/100)
**Attribute Points Available:** 0.03
---
Now, Ryuji's overall physical capabilities surpassed those of an average adult by more than half. Though the improvement might seem small, it was already a terrifying boost.
And this was just the beginning.
"As long as I keep pushing forward, my strength will only continue to grow," he whispered, clenching his fists tightly.
The future felt full of promise, and Ryuji couldn't help but look forward to what was to come.
---
"Uncle, you've gotten stronger again."
Just as Ryuji was savoring the satisfaction of his newfound strength, a voice of surprise rang out from behind him.
Turning around, Ryuji saw Tanjiro staring at him in disbelief.
Realizing this, Ryuji's thoughts came back to reality, and a twinge of guilt crept in. He had to be more cautious—displaying too much power in front of others might raise unwanted attention. After all, the sudden surge in strength after assigning attribute points could easily be noticed by others.
"I just gained a deeper understanding of the 'Breathing Technique,' so my strength improved," Ryuji explained with a smile.
"Uncle, you're amazing!" Tanjiro exclaimed, his face filled with admiration, though a hint of disappointment clouded his eyes. "No matter how hard I try, it feels like I can't catch up to you. I've been training every day, but I'm still far behind."
Ryuji stepped forward and gently patted Tanjiro's head. "You're doing great, Tanjiro. You're improving each day. One day, you'll surpass me."
"Thank you, Uncle! I'll keep working hard," Tanjiro said, clenching his fists with determination.
Ryuji smiled, then turned to the carcass of the Silver Wolf King. "Let's skin this beast. The pelt of a silver wolf is rare and valuable. We can sell it for a good amount, which should cover the costs of moving somewhere safer."
Moving in this era was no simple task, especially for a family of their size. On top of that, the appearance of demons nearby made the current place feel unsafe. They lived in constant fear that a demon might show up in the middle of the night.
"Right," Tanjiro nodded, rolling up his sleeves and beginning to work on the wolf carcass. As he worked, he suddenly paused and looked up at Ryuji. "Uncle, do you think we'll ever be able to return here?"
"When we grow strong enough, we can come back," Ryuji replied, his tone firm as he patted Tanjiro's head again. He understood what the boy was feeling—this was their home, after all. Deep down, Tanjiro didn't want to leave, but the danger was real.
"Okay," Tanjiro said softly, nodding again.
---
With their prey loaded onto their backs, Ryuji and Tanjiro trekked through the mountain paths, moving swiftly thanks to their mastery of the 'Breathing Technique.'
After about two hours of walking, they finally saw the familiar sight of their house in the distance.
As they approached the courtyard, a woman was waiting by the door, her gaze fixed on their return. The moment she saw them, she hurried forward to greet them.
When she reached them, she stopped a few steps away, bowing slightly with her hands folded in front of her. "Ryuji, you're back."
"Yeah," Ryuji nodded, his eyes falling on Kamado Kie. Her breathing was a little labored, probably from rushing to greet them. The rise and fall of her chest was quite... noticeable.
Ryuji turned to Tanjiro and gave him a gentle pat on the shoulder. "Go inside, Tanjiro. Take the prey with you. I have something to discuss with your mother."
Tanjiro glanced at his mother, noticing her flushed face. He blinked, then quickly looked away. "Mom, I'll head inside."
"Alright," Kie said softly, her voice tender as she brushed some dust off Tanjiro's clothes. "Make sure to bundle up when you go out. It's getting colder, and I don't want you to catch a chill."
"I will, Mother."
---
"You're such a kind and gentle mother," Ryuji remarked after Tanjiro disappeared into the house.
Hearing his words, Kie's cheeks turned an even deeper shade of red. She kept her gaze lowered, feeling Ryuji's eyes on her but not daring to meet them.
"Look at me," he commanded, his voice firm but soft.
Kie slowly lifted her head, revealing her delicate features. Her fair neck supported a graceful face, framed by long, dark lashes that fluttered slightly. Her dignified and gentle demeanor made her all the more captivating.
Over the years, Ryuji had accumulated power through his battles and the points he gained from killing beasts. With that power came a growing sense of dominance and assertiveness that he found harder to suppress.
His gaze narrowed as he reached out and lifted Kie's chin with a finger. "You're becoming more and more beautiful."
Kie's face flushed even more as she whispered shyly, "But... the children... they haven't gone far yet."
Ryuji smirked, pulling her closer, his lips brushing her ear as he spoke. "I think Tanjiro, Nezuko, and the others have already figured out what's going on between us. They've probably accepted it by now."
Both Tanjiro and Nezuko were smart children. Even if they hadn't understood at first, living with them all this time must have made them aware of the relationship between their mother and Ryuji.
Kie's body tensed for a moment at Ryuji's words, then she buried her head in his chest. "Then... Ryuji... I'll find the right time to tell them. I'll ask them to start calling you... Father."
Ryuji chuckled, lifting her face to meet his gaze once again. Her eyes were filled with a gentle warmth, and her dignified temperament made her all the more alluring.
"There's no rush," Ryuji said, shaking his head.
Kie's eyes dimmed slightly, misinterpreting his words as rejection. Her heart sank a little, but she didn't voice her thoughts.
Seeing her reaction, Ryuji pulled her into a deeper embrace, whispering into her ear.
"Right now, there's something else I'd rather hear from you."
"Something else?" Kie asked, her voice trembling slightly.
Ryuji leaned in closer, his breath hot against her ear.
"Call me... daddy."
