Chapter 46: Kochou Kanae And Kochou Shinobu
---
Ryuji couldn't control his strength, so he remained still.
"Ryuji…"
A soft, gentle voice whispered in Ryuji's ear.
Ryuji sighed quietly and opened his eyes.
"Why? Why don't you sleep in your own room? Why did you come here?"
Kamado Kie's face flushed as she looked at Ryuji, who hadn't moved a muscle. She thought he was deliberately waiting for her to take the initiative.
This made Kie's face turn even redder, and her alluring eyes filled with a mix of embarrassment and resentment. Why does he always…
Always tease me like this?
Her moist lips shimmered faintly, and her delicate, enchanting eyes resembled those of a playful fairy.
Seeing this, Ryuji's heart skipped a beat. If he hadn't forced himself to remain calm, he might have lost control.
Even so, his heart pounded heavily, thumping in his chest.
Closing his eyes slightly, Ryuji suppressed the growing emotions within him. He took a deep breath, forcing himself to stay composed.
Kie, seeing Ryuji hadn't moved at all, became even more flustered. Hesitant but determined, she slowly leaned closer.
"Don't…"
Ryuji's hoarse voice, strained with restraint, interrupted her.
Kie blinked her long lashes in confusion but didn't stop. She leaned closer and noticed Ryuji's fists clenched tightly at his sides, clearly trying to control himself.
Her beautiful eyes reflected a hint of uncertainty. Why was Ryuji, who usually teased her mercilessly, being so restrained tonight?
"Just… just hold me to sleep."
Ryuji turned his head away slightly, unable to face Kie's alluring gaze any longer. He feared if he let his emotions flare up, he might hurt her.
"Alright."
Kie lowered her head and gently nestled beside Ryuji, wrapping her arms around him tightly.
Ryuji exhaled, trying to calm his turbulent emotions as he closed his eyes. He couldn't afford to lose control—he didn't want to hurt Kie.
"What's wrong with you tonight?" Kie asked softly, resting her head on Ryuji's chest and tightening her grip around his waist like a kitten seeking warmth.
"I've… increased my strength recently. I can't fully control it yet. I'm afraid I'll hurt you."
Ryuji sighed, feeling the warmth of her body against his, and whispered helplessly. If not for that, he might have already devoured this little temptress entirely.
Kie's eyes widened slightly, finally noticing the broken wood beside the bed. Warmth blossomed in her chest.
So… he's holding back because he doesn't want to hurt me.
Her heart swelled with sweetness, and she snuggled even closer to Ryuji.
"Go to sleep," Ryuji murmured softly.
"Mm," Kie nodded, holding him tighter.
As dawn approached, and Kie was sound asleep, Ryuji gently pried her arms off him, careful not to hurt her with his overwhelming strength. He moved slowly, inch by inch.
Kie, still half-asleep, let out a small moan and blinked her sleepy eyes. She instinctively tried to cling to him again.
"It's still early. Go back to sleep," Ryuji whispered.
Standing up, Ryuji glanced at Kie's serene face. His gaze lingered on her for a moment, catching the contrast between her white nightdress and the black socks that hugged her ankles, revealing her slender curves.
Ryuji's breath hitched as he fought off the rising desire within him.
"I'm going out to train," he muttered under his breath, determined to distract himself.
As Ryuji left in a hurry, Kie propped her chin up with her hands, watching him go. Her thin nightclothes outlined her graceful figure, and she couldn't help but smile softly.
Once in the courtyard, Ryuji focused on training, determined to master his newfound strength as quickly as possible.
The day passed swiftly, and soon, word of last night's events spread through the streets. People buzzed with chatter.
In a quiet library within the city, Kochou Kanae sat by the window, flipping through a book she had just found, slowly getting lost in its pages.
*Thud!*
A sudden soft noise broke the peaceful silence, drawing Kanae's attention.
Across from her, a young girl with purple eyes squirmed impatiently in her seat, resting her chin on her hand, her face full of frustration.
It was clear the noise had come from her.
Kanae sighed softly, seeing her younger sister's restlessness. "Shinobu, we agreed to come here to read together."
"Sister, this is so boring! I can't sit here any longer," Shinobu replied, sticking out her tongue playfully.
"Do you want to go out and play?" Kanae asked, her voice gentle and soothing, like a spring breeze.
"Are you really going to take me out?" Shinobu's eyes sparkled with excitement. Unlike her calm and composed older sister, Shinobu was much more spirited and energetic.
Kanae smiled softly, watching her little sister with affection.
"If you let me finish this book, I'll take you for a walk," Kanae said kindly.
Shinobu brightened up at the thought but then pouted when she realized she had to wait. "What's so interesting about that book, anyway?" she muttered under her breath.
Kanae simply smiled at her sister's antics, returning to her book. The soft sunlight pouring through the window highlighted her calm and peaceful demeanor.
Bored, Shinobu propped her chin up with one hand, her gaze lingering on her sister. Despite her impatience, a fond smile formed on her lips. "Sister, you're so beautiful."
Kanae glanced up from her book, raising an eyebrow at her sister's comment. She reached up, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear before returning to her reading.
Seeing her sister ignore her, Shinobu continued talking to herself, "You're so pretty… I wonder what poor guy will be lucky enough to marry you in the future."
Kanae sighed, looking at her sister with a playful glare, then lightly tapped her on the head. "You're such a handful."
Shinobu giggled. "I know! But I'm your favorite!" she said, standing up and pulling her sister along.
Kanae couldn't help but smile at her sister's enthusiasm. "Alright, alright. Let's go, as you wish."
As they left the library, Shinobu clung to Kanae's arm, happily chatting away.
"Sister, have you heard? There's a really strong person in town! A real hero who's defeated a bunch of bad guys!"
"Is that so?" Kanae responded, listening patiently to her sister.
"I wonder what this hero looks like…" Shinobu mused, her eyes full of curiosity.
Kanae just smiled, amused by her sister's vivid imagination.
"You're almost at the age to marry," Shinobu teased. "Mom's been looking into it lately. I wonder what kind of family you'll end up with."
"Let me tell you, none of those boys can compare to a hero! If my sister's going to marry someone, it should be someone who's as amazing as a hero!" Shinobu declared with pride.
Kanae chuckled softly, affectionately patting her sister's head.
