Chapter 10: Chapter 10 Uninterested
```
Just then, Su Mo pushed open the ventilating window on the second floor and leaned against it, looking down at Qiang Hua and the others with interest.
"Keep cursing, I don't mind. I hope later on you can still be so tough with your words," he said.
"You!!!"
Trembling with rage, Qiang Hua would have fought Su Mo to the death if he could.
"Just you wait, if we get the chance, we'll kill you."
"That's right, if we had known it would come to this, we should have killed him first."
...
"Not bad, but first you have to survive. Show me what you're made of," Su Mo responded casually, though he wasn't just there to watch the drama unfold. He wanted to use them to test the combat strength of those Monsters outside.
At that moment, a horde of Zombies began to crowd around, their movements anything but slow, and their eyes glowing green.
"No good, Brother Qiang, those Monsters are charging over!" Lan Xi exclaimed urgently.
"Damn it, men, prepare to fight, Lan Xi, stay behind!" Qiang Hua directed his brothers to protect Lan Xi behind them. Holding his hammer, he smashed it into the forehead of an oncoming Zombie.
The leading Zombie was knocked down instantly, collapsing to the ground.
However, unfortunately, there were more of them than they had anticipated.
Just then, a Zombie sprang from the side, clamping its jaws onto Qiang Hua's left arm. He felt a surge of pain and countered with a hammer to its head, taking it down.
He didn't even have time to check his wound before his comrades began to fall one by one.
"Help, ahh!!!"
Qiang Hua turned his head and his eyes instantly reddened. It was a pity he was powerless, for as soon as anyone fell, five or six Zombies would pounce on them, biting whatever they could, and in the blink of an eye, they were dead.
"Bastards!"
In a fit of madness, he charged towards the Zombies ahead.
Lan Xi's body shook slightly, her delicate face tense.
Watching the battle below with interest, Su Mo said to Lan Xi, "Not bad, your teammates are really going all out to protect you."
"Open the door, let us in, please, I'm begging you," Lan Xi called out to Su Mo, looking up with her lips quivering nervously.
"Opening the door now would be killing myself, wouldn't it? And there's no need to open it anyway; your teammates are definitely not going to make it. No, it should be said that none of you will survive," Su Mo analyzed calmly to Lan Xi.
Turning her head, Lan Xi saw that out of her eleven teammates, eight had already fallen, leaving only Qiang Hua and two others.
Even some of the bodies of the fallen teammates began to wobble as they tried to stand up.
Surrounded, Qiang Hua shouted at Lan Xi, "Run!"
He was then overwhelmed; it was as tragic as it could get.
At this point, some Zombies started to set their sights on Lan Xi and began to approach her.
Having somewhat understood the Monsters' combat abilities, Su Mo said to Lan Xi, "Goodbye."
But Lan Xi didn't want to die. Clenching her fists and gritting her teeth, she held back her tears. Desperately trying to survive, she yelled after Su Mo, who was about to leave, "You have to save me, do you think hiding in the mall makes you safe? You have no idea about this game."
Su Mo stopped in his tracks, his cold gaze shifting to Lan Xi below.
"Why should I trust you?" he asked.
Clenching her teeth as Zombies approached, Lan Xi shouted, "I have vital information."
"Oh, really?"
"It's true."
"Fine, I'll trust you this one time."
Upon hearing Lan Xi's words, Su Mo took out a rope from his backpack and tossed it down.
Lan Xi reached out hastily, but Su Mo pulled back, and she grabbed at nothing.
"You..."
Lan Xi was close to crying in desperation.
Su Mo was somewhat surprised that he could push Lan Xi to the verge of tears. So, he decided not to tease her anymore and let the rope down.
Lan Xi quickly grasped the rope.
```
Su Mo tugged on the rope, pulling it upward, just as the zombies pounced over.
One of the zombies reached out and grabbed Lan Xi's foot, pulling it down.
"Ah!"
Lan Xi desperately lifted her other foot, kicking at the zombie's face repeatedly, but to no avail, as the zombie clung on tightly.
Seeing this, Su Mo took a small knife from his pocket and threw it directly.
Crack!
The knife hit the zombie's head with deadly accuracy.
Lan Xi quickly kicked the zombie away, and Su Mo took the opportunity to pull her up bit by bit.
The zombies below reached up frantically, their hideous faces filled with primal desire, making Lan Xi's scalp tingle.
Soon, Su Mo pulled Lan Xi up, temporarily saving her. She sat on the ground, gasping for air, not from physical exhaustion, but from sheer terror. She had never experienced anything so horrifying in her life.
Su Mo reorganized the rope and put it back into his backpack, then calmly asked Lan Xi.
"Your survival instinct isn't bad, huh."
"How can you even say that? If it weren't for you closing the door, my teammates wouldn't have died."
"Didn't you close my door first?"
"You were so dangerous, how could I not close it?"
"How was I dangerous? I was trying to save people."
After hearing that, Lan Xi felt like she had been struck by lightning. This was no joke.
"Besides, if you die, you die, it's just a game, you'll revive afterwards."
Su Mo replied nonchalantly.
"Who told you that you can revive?"
Lan Xi, looking at Su Mo's indifferent expression, felt her teeth itch with irritation.
"You can't revive?"
Su Mo was also slightly surprised.
"When you die, you're out of the game. You only get one chance, do you realize how precious that is? The 'spark' representing life inside us will go out, and without someone else bringing a spark to save you, you will never be able to log into this game again."
Lan Xi answered angrily, almost on the verge of crying out in frustration.
"Oh, I see, continue, tell me what else you know."
Su Mo looked at Lan Xi with great interest.
Hearing this, Lan Xi paused, then lowered her head and replied despondently, "I don't know much, just that it's important to survive, and you absolutely can't die."
"Is that all the information you have? So, you were lying to me just now?"
Su Mo sized Lan Xi up and down.
Standing up, Lan Xi replied, "Yes, but I had no choice. If I hadn't said that, would you have saved me? Moreover, saving me didn't put you at a loss."
"How am I not at a loss?"
"We could team up; I've been through professional training at the training camp. This is a team game. You can't survive here on your own."
"Oh, really? Is that the level of your professional training? I'm not interested."
Su Mo turned and was about to leave.
However, Lan Xi caught up with him, vigorously advocating for herself.
"Take me with you; I'm very strong."
"I'm not interested. Why should I carry a burden?"
Su Mo walked towards the staircase, intending to climb to the third floor. He wanted to get a higher view and see what the city looked like now.
Lan Xi still didn't give up, following Su Mo and saying,
"I'm a lifestyle player; you'll need me. I can perform emergency aid, dissections, and my close combat skills are also not bad."
"Not impressed."
Su Mo remained indifferent.
Lan Xi was on the verge of exploding with rage, having never been deemed so worthless by anyone.
"I can prove..."
Just as Lan Xi was arguing with Su Mo, turning the corner, Su Mo suddenly stretched out his hand and pulled Lan Xi aside.
A ragged, emaciated zombie opened its mouth and leapt forward without warning, only to miss its target completely.
