Chapter 2: Ryuji Takahashi
Teidan Senior High School, Class A, Grade 3
In the second-to-last row by the window, the protagonist, a handsome and composed young man, sat with intense focus on a thick book titled The Elements of Geometry.
The girls in the class would glance at him from time to time, their gazes filled with admiration, their whispers floating through the air.
"Ryuji is so handsome. I really wish I could be his girlfriend..."
"Not only is he good-looking, but I also heard he has an incredible mind. He's published several influential papers in academic journals. Toho University and Kyoto University are both vying for him. They've even sent admission officers to take photos of him and everything..."
"Is that true? He's amazing..."
Just then, the math teacher at the podium finished his lecture and pulled out a stack of test papers. "Now, let's announce the scores from the recent mock exam. First place is Ryuji, with a deviation score of 84. Excellent job. Second place is xxx, with a deviation score of 75..."
At the mention of his name, Ryuji finally lifted his head from his book and offered a slight, confident smile. The gesture caused several girls to blush, their hearts fluttering. But inside, Ryuji was thinking, Mission accomplished.
Ryuji Takahashi, a time traveler, had found himself enrolled at Teidan High three years ago. Now, he was attending school with juniors like Shinichi Kudo and Ran Mouri, and his feelings toward this situation were... complicated.
Before he could fully adjust to this new life, his "Goldfinger" arrived—a system designed to guide him to greatness.
The Strongest Academic System, meant to make him the best student ever.
By completing tasks within the system, Ryuji had steadily improved his abilities in a variety of fields. It was clear to him that this path would lead to a brilliant future.
Why become a detective? he thought. Let someone else handle the cases, let the "Washing Machine" clean up the dark organizations. I'll be a quiet, handsome man—a world-renowned scientist.
By continuing to complete tasks, he was certain he would become a world-class scientist. Becoming the next Einstein or Newton wasn't out of the question. With time, he would earn the best official recognition.
For the past three years, he had followed this path, securing top spots in every exam. Now, in his third year of high school, he had already published several mathematical papers, earning widespread acclaim. He had become Teidan High's pride, hailed as the future mathematician.
Subconsciously, he glanced at his attribute panel.
The Strongest Academic Master System:
Host: Ryuji Takahashi
Main Subjects:
Mathematics: Lv1 - The foundation of all sciences. (Mother of Science!)
Physics: Lv0 - Helps understand the universe. (Undecided, Quantum Mechanics)
Biochemistry: Lv0 - Helps understand oneself. (The best choice for those starting from nothing)
Engineering: Transformation tools unlocked, ability to change the environment and world. (Building mechas, assembling Gundams)
Materials Science: Unlocked through engineering. (Steel like water or water like steel)
Energetics: To be unlocked. (Life feeds on negative entropy, the end of energy development. Colonizing the universe is the way forward.)
Informatics: To be unlocked. (The code of God, aiming to create God.)
Literature & Sociology: Lv0 - Cannot be improved. (Compared to natural sciences, it's not scientific enough.)
His chemistry and literature courses were already yielding nearly perfect scores. With his Lv1 mathematics skill, he was publishing in professional journals. He was eager to keep advancing in his studies.
The teacher at the podium finished reading the scores and praised Ryuji once more.
"This mock exam, taken by all prospective candidates in the Eastern Capital District, saw Ryuji in first place with an exceptional deviation score of 84. His score is far beyond the others... Now, let's have Ryuji explain the math exam."
Ryuji had not expected this, but he remained calm. Standing up, he walked confidently to the front of the class. Under the envious gazes of his classmates, he said, "I won't waste time. Let's start with the hardest question."
He explained the complex problem clearly and efficiently, holding a marker in his right hand as he began writing the solution on the blackboard.
The teacher watched with approval, nodding as Ryuji's detailed, methodical solution unfolded. The problem-solving was flawless.
The soft sound of the marker tip against the board filled the classroom. After a moment, Ryuji spoke again.
"Actually, there are two solutions to this problem. I'll explain both. The first one requires a bit of calculus. It's a classic double integral transformation..." He began writing quickly on the board. "The solution becomes cos(x)..."
As he wrote, the board filled with calculations. He didn't stop, and soon, the entire board was covered with his solution.
"To summarize, the answer is x = 5."
As he finished speaking, the last stroke of the marker completed the solution.
The class remained silent for a moment. His classmates stared blankly at the board, unsure of what had just happened. They looked to the teacher for some kind of explanation.
The teacher simply smiled and let Ryuji continue.
Ryuji smiled all the while, seemingly unbothered by the stunned silence around him. He waited for everyone to finish copying the notes before he gave his final comment.
"It seems like you've all copied it down. Let me show you the second solution. It might take a bit longer, and you might need a whole board to write it down. Just listen and copy as I explain."
The teacher couldn't contain himself any longer and lightly coughed, interrupting, "Ryuji, let's leave it at that for today. The other teachers can handle the rest. By the way, please come to my office after school. The school wants to discuss your future studies with you."
"Okay, Teacher. I'll head there now."
With a bright smile, Ryuji returned to his seat, pulling out his original geometry textbook, though his mind was still on the reward he'd earned for topping the mock exam.
"Congratulations on completing the task. You've earned x3 Energy Drinks. After consuming them, you'll feel fully energized for a day, with no side effects."
Happy, Ryuji lowered his head and returned to his book, content. Learning is fun.

After school, Ryuji walked to the teacher's office.
"Takahashi, you're here. Please sit down," the teacher greeted him, looking at his star student with pride. "Not only are you handsome, but you're also hardworking and incredibly talented. You're the ideal student."
"Teacher, what did you want to discuss?"
"Well, Toho University and Kyoto University have both contacted you. They want to know your opinion on further studies."
"My opinion..."
Ryuji paused, considering. "Teacher, did Toho University contact the school directly?"
The teacher smiled awkwardly. "Haha, I can't hide it from you. You know, they're both prestigious universities in the Eastern Capital, the best in our country. But don't worry, the school won't force you. You can choose any university you want."
Ryuji smiled slightly, suspecting that Toho University had made some concessions to secure his enrollment, possibly offering a few special spots.
As for his decision...
"Of course, I choose Toho University."
"And the reason?" the teacher asked, surprised.
"It's close to home," Ryuji answered casually.
The teacher was left speechless, still shocked by the simplicity of Ryuji's reasoning.
"Alright, I'll inform them that you've chosen Toho University."
"Thanks, teacher. If there's nothing else, I'll head out."
"Go ahead."
---
As Ryuji walked out of the office, he stretched his arms. With his future university plans settled, he wasn't in a hurry to head home. He decided to visit the library for a while instead.
Walking through the school building, he paused in front of a mirror.
He checked his reflection—still had to keep his image in check.
The young man in the mirror had messy black hair and a confident smile, radiating charm.
So handsome, just like the readers would imagine.
Straightening his clothes, he continued his walk down the stairs.
As the sun began to set, the wide playground filled with students in groups, some running to their clubs while others were heading home.
Ryuji stretched his hands behind his head, enjoying the leisurely time on campus.
But his striking appearance made him the center of attention. Being too handsome is also a curse, he thought.
He quickly walked away, planning...
