Chapter 27: The Burning Blue Flames
Milazz stared at Merlin with a twisted look; he extremely loved battles, just like his master, “Jero, the green-crazed,” the brave man of Byzantine. With a giant build and a love for fighting, he was the rock pillar of the Byzantine Kingdom.
Countless fireballs shot earlier were his intention to test Merlin’s skills. Seeing that Merlin could survive all of them, Milazz beamed while looking at him passionately which made his face look even more twisted.
“EEK EEK EEK from now on, I’m going all in.” Said Milazz along with his weird laugh.
“It seems like you’ve got some skills. Bring it on, I am ready.”
Merlin raised his hand to unveil the cloak covering his face; now his face was showing; the corner of his mouth was lifted, and his sharp eyes were staring at Milazz. He stretched his hand out to the front and wiggled a finger to challenge his opponent.
“Shocked” was the word written on everyone in the audience’s faces.
A guy asked, “Who is he? Why have I never seen him before? He’s acting like that to provoke Twisted Lazz. What family is he from? How great of the background does he have that could make him so brave?”
Merlin revealed his face for a reason: he always wanted to reveal his identity after having cultivated to the stem-building stage. He could be a wizard now.
To conceal his Xian practice’s cultivation, he had to use magical power and alphabet power to hide his real identity.
Seeing Merlin’s reaction, he was even more pleased.
“Eeek eek eeek Take it!”
After that, the blue flames were burning up all over his body; the heat dried up and cracked the ground.
BANG! Milazz appeared in front of Merlin in the blink of an eye; he kicked the boy’s torso thunderously. The magical pressure and the flames enveloped his body.
Merlin used the twig to take care of Milazz’s kick calmly. His seemingly slow movement was a speed in disguise.
When the magical pressure clashed with Xian vital essence wrapped over the twig; both of them receded.
Merlin’s eyebrows slightly moved together; he did not expect that Milazz could ever make him retreat.
“So, this is what they call a magic battle.” Merlin thought.
On the other hand, Milazz was not slightly anxious. After resetting his position, he dashed out and charged at Merlin again. This time, he attacked with the kicks covered in flames.
Milazz banged his kicks countless times; each of them was remarkably quick and furious.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
And as he expected, Merlin was able to handle all his kicks speedily. Besides, his face said that he was having fun.
Milazz finally found someone of his kind.
Eeeek eeek eeek!
The fight went on so fast and violently that some people could not watch the match. The booming explosion sounds came up consistently as though this was not a sorcerer-level fight.
Milazz’s speed kept increasing. Merlin could never be careless; this fight had been lingering for quite some time now.
Finally, Merlin could no longer use only a twig; his other hand was now a part of the fight.
This battle got more and more serious; at one point, Milazz was able to successfully kick Merlin’s torso.
BANG!
Merlin’s body bounced off almost ten meters. And his side became bloody red because of Milazz’s blue flames.
Furthermore, Milazz took a big, deep breath, so deep that his back curved back; then a huge fireball, one-meter wide, came out of his mouth.
ZOOM!
That fireball moved towards Merlin with the speed of an arrow.
BOOOM!
Nevertheless, an unexpected happened when that fireball was split into two halves.
It was not yet disabled; both halves of it plowed more than ten meters into the forest field leaving the scorched path behind.
“Look at that…” Someone in the audience pointed his friend towards the scene.
One thing that amazed the onlookers was Merlin flying in the air.
“How is it possible? That kid is flying!” A guy burst out in shock.
“Isn’t he at the final section of the magic-practitioner level? How did he do that?” People were constantly making comments.
“Maybe, maybe he is a wind-element genius or expert; only an expert could do this.” Said a dumbfounded girl.
“Yeah, that could be because you have to be at least an archwizard to be able to levitate. It is clear that that kid is just a magic practitioner, but he can do so. The most credible reason must be that he is a wind-element expert.”
“It is unbelievable that a boy his age could practice and master the wind element. Which kingdom is this genius from? Why haven’t we heard of him?” A guy was analyzing the situation with a puzzled face.
The fight went on wildly; using his technique, Merlin swung his twig and blew energy out several times. The sword vital essence quickly charged at its target.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
In the eyes of the spectators, Merlin was a wind-element expert. The twig attack that built up formless vicious energy made them believe that it was one of the wind-element attacking spells.
Both the shapeless attack in the air and his levitation reinforced the belief saying he was a wind-element expert.
Finally, both of them took a rest; where Milazz was standing was covered in smoke and dust.
However, after a while, it seemed something was vacuuming all of the smoke.
When it started to go away, it appeared to be Milazz’s inhaling; he took a deep breath, so deep that the smoke was sucked in as well.
“What is he trying to do?” Said a guy.
“Look! Look at Twisted Lazz’s arm. It was cut.” Another one yelled surprisedly.
Merlin’s recent attack made Milazz lose his arm because he could not dodge it.
Suddenly, a giant two-meter fireball appeared and was quickly shot out of Milazz’s mouth.
ZOOOOM!
But an unbelievable thing happened; everyone in the audience was stunned.
“How did he do it…how did that kid do that?”
Mind-boggling situations repeatedly took place. People were shocked by the scene before them: the boy used his twig to stop the enormous two-meter fireball.
The end of that twig was able to completely cease its motion; that was what everyone was seeing. Even if there had been ascetic practitioners around, they would have also been astonished because that twig was coated in Xian vital essence. Aside from that, that essence was also covering the fireball.
Merlin’s Xian-energy skill was considered excellent; in the world of Xian practice, it could be said that he was a true genius.
His small hand flicked the twig’s end in another direction; the massive fireball quickly and violently dashed out.
BOOM!
The seriousness of that huge fireball created a hole and burned over ten meters of the forest area.
Eeek eeek eeek!
That twisted laugh drew people’s attention back to Milazz. There appeared burning blue flames around his amputated arm; they were moving in a way that made them seem alive.
Milazz picked up the arm covered in blue flames and put it back in its place.
Those blue flames burned up almost twice as before. They obstreperously sent out a whistling sound as if there were people shrieking.
Milazz smiled. With a pleased look, he faced upwards and burst out laughing,
EEEK EEEK EEEK!
In a short while, his cut-off arm started moving again; people were watching in confusion after Milazz had reattached his limb and made it work again.
“Maybe this is what a bloodline limit could do: the flames that could revive his body.” Someone in the audience said.
“That is not a human ability; Twisted Lazz is no longer a human being.” Mumbled an astounded guy.
After reviving his arm, Milazz turned to talk to Merlin.
“Alright now…let’s continue this fun. Eeeeek eeek eeeek.”
With his words being finished, suddenly there appeared a beam heading to where the fight was taking place at speed. That beam moved past Milazz’s face.
Boom!
That beam was an arrow.
It did not mean to take Milazz’s life; it just flew over to dig a hole in the ground.
The arrow was filled with a sense of magical power. It was both quick and drenched in natural auras.
When that arrow touched the ground, the magical power exploded. Over ten wooden pillars emerged from the ground; they were as tall as ten meters or even more. People were looking in the direction the arrow came from.
“Cease this fight before you two do more damage to this forest.” A gracious voice was uttered.
A pale handsome man with emerald eyes and golden hair tightened in the back of his head. The most noticeable thing was his ears: they were longer than normal human ears. His aura was majestic and magnificent.
He was an elf.
“Is that him?… Golden Arrow Michael, a student of The Golden Flash Leonel, one of the Naples’ forests.” Said a guy.
“What is going on? Why do two of the strongest pillars’ students make an appearance this year?” Someone in the crowd said in disbelief.
“Eeeek eek eek, ah, I was wondering who it was; so, it was you, long-eared elf,” Milazz spoke as if he did not care about Michael.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
In the blink of an eye, Milazz had destroyed those pillars with his fire.
His nickname was Twisted Lazz; his actions were unpredictable. There was no way a guy named Twisted Lazz would listen to anybody.
“Hey, pointy ears, I don’t care who you are. There’s nobody on this island that could make me obey. But if you want me to do so, well, you have to defeat me.” Looking up, Milazz said with his hand pointing to Michael.
“Eeek eek eek, I will play with you when I’m done with this business.”
Having said that, Milazz charged at Merlin immediately; that attack was unwarned
But again, an unexpected happened, when Milazz’s whole body was wrapped in a dome-shaped barrier. Everything happened very fast.
Tons of blue letters were floating orderly around Milazz.
Finally, the boy who had been quiet spoke up.
“If he cannot take you down, I will. Do I have enough skills to order you to stop?”
Merlin’s words made everything stop; people were staring silently. Merlin’s body was floating in the air like a mighty figure; his right hand was raised up to control the alphabet that kept coming out one after another.
Like they were under a spell, everyone’s mouth was wide open; a lot of them were dazed and confused. Their whole bodies were shaking.
As if time was being frozen; many people did not even dare to breathe heavily. This place turned silent.
Finally, a guy burst,
“That!... He is… an alphabet user!” One of them said among the silence.
