Diary of an introvert

Chapter 10: SEARCHING FOR ANSWERS

I stood there for a long time, lost in thought. I had always wondered about my mom, always wondered why she had left me. And now, I was determined to find out.

I turned to my dad, who was watching me with a concerned expression. "Dad, I need to ask you something," I said.

"What is it, son?" he replied.

"I need to know about my mom," I said. "I need to know why she left me."

My dad sighed, looking down at the ground. "Jarad, I've told you before, your mom left when you were nine years old," he said. "She said she wasn't ready to raise me all alone, and she needed to find herself."

I nodded, feeling a sense of frustration. I had heard this story before, but I didn't believe it. There had to be more to it, more to why my mom had left me.

"Dad, I need to see her," I said. "I need to talk to her."

My dad looked at me, his expression serious. "Jarad, I don't know if that's a good idea," he said. "Your mom has made it clear that she doesn't want to be involved in your life."

I felt a surge of anger, but I pushed it down. I knew that my dad was just trying to protect me.

"I need to do this, Dad," I said. "I need to know why she left me."

My dad sighed, nodding his head. "Okay, son," he said. "I'll help you find her."

I felt a sense of determination wash over me. I was finally going to get the answers I had been searching for.

Over the next few days, my dad and I searched for my mom. We looked through old records, talked to old friends, and even hired a private investigator.

And finally, after weeks of searching, we got informations about her

She was living in a small town a few hours away, working as a waitress at a local diner.

I felt a mix of emotions as I stood outside the diner, looking at where my mom worked

But most of all, I felt curious.

I took a deep breath, and walked inside.
