Diary of an introvert

Chapter 5: BETRAYAL

I thought I had finally found happiness with Sarah. She had accepted me for who I was, secrets and all. Or so I thought.

At first, everything seemed perfect. We spent all our time together, exploring the city and getting to know each other. Sarah was kind and compassionate, and I felt like I could trust her with my life.

But as time went on, I started to notice a change in Sarah's behavior. She became more distant, more cold. She would make snide comments about my past, about the secret I had kept hidden for so long.

At first, I brushed it off as a joke. But as the comments continued, I realized that Sarah was using my past against me. She was using the one thing that I was most ashamed of to manipulate and control me.

I felt a wave of anger and hurt wash over me. How could Sarah do this to me? I thought she loved me, not my secrets.

One day, Sarah dropped a bombshell. She told me that she had been in contact with the police, that she had told them about my past. I was horrified.

"Why would you do that?" I demanded, feeling a mix of anger and betrayal.

"Because you're a monster," Sarah spat, her eyes blazing with hatred. "You think you can just keep secrets and hurt people, and then expect everyone to forgive you? Well, I'm not going to forgive you. And neither will the police."

I was stunned. I had never felt so betrayed in my life. I realized that Sarah had been playing me all along, using my secrets against me to get what she wanted.

I knew I had to get out of there, to get away from Sarah and her toxic behavior. I packed my bags and left, determined to start a new life and leave my past behind me.

But as I looked back, I couldn't help but wonder: had I ever really known Sarah at all?
