dinohigh, no humans allowed!

Chapter 10: chapter 1 tables turn (deleted chapter)

decided to redraft this one and figure out a different plan.

authors notes- im still thinking if this will be the final version or not. and weighing which way the story should go. if our human will only use his words. or can hold his own in a fight. it could go either way. but ill have to commit to one.

I gulped upon realization of what he implied. And she began looking around me for an escape. What was that? Burst of confidence. The killer instinct is hidden in my primitive nature. I felt free for a couple seconds. The first yes, please go all ape sh*t I ever received from authority. I wanted that catharsis. To feel the gratification of physical violence.

But then... I snapped out of it. Why? Why do I always hold back? Was it mom and dad's words controlling my actions? Or was it society conditioning me, brainwashing me, and turning me against my own thoughts? Or was it that? I was simply afraid to take the risk.

There had to be a better way. I couldn't challenge them. I was too weak! My human body stood no chance against those girls. There were three of them. They were therapod dinosaurs. Two of them seemed to be some form of herbivore scavenger with a slight carnivory. But the leader was the one with white feathers and a velvety crest on her head and nose. I think the name had flashed across my mind. Struggling to figure it out, my enhanced mental faculties were being boosted by adrenaline and panic. Monolophosaur? It was similar to a raptor but more like some form of abbelosaur. These things are super dangerous. I couldn't win a fight with them.

My eyes rapidly scanned the girl's clothes. For weapons. They had a few. Mostly stuff, like my own knives. But the question was, could they stab me faster than I stabbed them? I internally calculated the math. These mil sim people were always known to be gym rats as well, so I doubt they would bench press and box at the punching bag; maybe they even sparred with each other. None the less, their minds were more active than my own because of their avian nature. Archosaur brains worked faster than the human mind and had their own internal combat styles, which they knew before they were born. Their clawed hands and feet were razor sharp, not to mention their maws and jaws full of razor-sharp teeth.

I couldn't take three dinos biting at me all at once. And what of the teacher? She didn't seem to be on my side. But that girl. She was looking at me again. She was always staring. She felt humans were violent, but more importantly, They would do something. She had stayed quiet and not antagonized me in any way. Was she counting on the aggression of these girls to instigate an altercation? Would she come to my aid? How could I make her? The gears in my mind kept turning for an answer. I factored in the percentages, circumstances, and scenarios that would benefit me.

There was a way, but. Would that plan materialize? There were too many factors, so I had to rely on the outside input of people. The cards were just not good. I couldn't win with these. Anger spread across my face. I didn't realize it, but it was showing the girl had kept on talking. The annoying leader one.

She smirked, thinking it was her words that made me upset. Not realizing I had ignored her entire sentence as white noise. Oh, look, she spoke. Look at your angry little monkey face. All those pretty clothes and nice, expensive things can't hide who you are to everyone here. You're still just a wild animal trying to fit in with the civilized people. Why don't you just face facts already? You're never going to be as good as us dinos.

I had no idea what she was talking about, but the others were nodding along to it. The parasaur girl had a strange crest. Was she even a parasaur? Her headpiece was longer and more curved than usual. Damn, was she one of those not really parasaur-type parasuars? Like that, there were not really type triceratops I met who had no nose horn. Or the weirdo girl I met outside that looked like an ankylosaur but wasn't because she had too many missing parts and additional features.

My head was spinning. I've never seen this many species of dinosaurs. I was used to the same taga. Ankylosaur. Trex. raptor. Triceratops. Everyone else was used too. All these new ones made my memory burn at such a rapid rate that my head just couldn't handle all the data.

I reached behind me. Taking a step back. It earned me a disappointed frown on the principle's face. Wait? Was I making a big mistake? Did he not even expect me to win? I merely stand my ground. Had I failed the test already? What if the test was just to brawl a bit? Or even just have a shooting match. Or worse, merely yelling at the girl and arguing for a couple of hours would have been enough to impress him in any verbal way. Why was I chilling out? I could feel her presence. I was being hunted. Was it those three? I had the feeling of a human being being hunted in the savanahs of ancient times. There was a predator watching me. Ready to pounce. Who was it?

The spine-chilling sensation I felt. There were eyes on me. They were getting ready to strike. I was shaking in my boots. I looked around, trying to figure out who it was. It could have come from anywhere. Was my instinct just going off in some sort of false alarm?

I rapidly took in deep breaths and looked panicky. The others looked at me nervously. Some of the milsim girls scooched backwards in their seet, apprehensive of what they would do. And so did the teacher, taking a defensive stance and covering the parasaur girl. The parasaur girl shuffled her a bit, trying to keep a watch on me. She was scared, but she was fascinated, like watching a wild animal.

The bratty mil sim leader girl had stopped her yapping, her eyes narrowing. Sensing was tense. She was reaching for her pocket. Glaring at me. She felt something coming.

This isn't good. Everyone already had time to prepare for any attack they might throw. I lost any chance I was given. I was at the back. But I still had one more trick up my sleeves: the door.

I grabbed the door behind me. Twisting its handle. Click-

What? It was jammed. No.. It was locked.

And then a voice came from behind the door. A familiar one...

Oopsie, it looks like you are not as smart as you thought you were, Mr. Monkey. Teehehehe

*My world shattered around me as every warning alarm blared in my head.* HOW COULD I HAVE BEEN SO STUPID?

And then. I saw a shadow at the reflective, blurry-stained glass door. Something was behind me. I felt a gush of wind and a motion heading towards my head.

It was over. My turn was over. IT WAS THEIR MOVE. HOW COULD I HAVE HAD THE ADVANTAGE AND DONE NOTHING? I WASTED MY CHANCEEE!!! I'm so sorry.

I dodged out of the way as fast as I could. Moving in an erratic motion. I am focusing on using my body's weight and momentum from falling. As I duck down and sideways.

A fist comes whizzing past my head as I fall down. And slams straight, throwing the glass on the door. Shattering it. Blood is oozing out as the person screams in pain. Clearly, you are not expecting me to dodge that fast.

I can barely see with all the adrenaline rushing through my head. Shocked faces and a gasp from everyone, as they didn't expect me to dodge, they were all surprised. Or were they surprised by the fact that someone had the nerve to attack me first without provocation? It didn't matter.

. They thought I had my guard down. They thought I was an easy target.

They thought they could win. A manic sense of euphoria engulfs my mind. My hand balls into a fist. The world blurs around me. I can't think. I just give into the violence.

A feather falls beside me. As the floor is coated in blood.
