Doomsday in Typemoon!

Chapter 28: Technologically Challenged Tohsakas~

"Thus, Mr. Riz, Sakura asks for your help." Tokiomi stood up and spoke to Rizel.

After chatting for a while, Rizel, accompanied by Sakura, prepared to say their goodbyes. The purpose of the discussion had been achieved.

Tohsaka Aoi seemed somewhat reluctant; it was a relief to know that her daughter was safe, but after only a few hours of reunion, they had to part again.

However, she couldn't do anything about it; after all, Tokiomi had made the initial decision that hurt Sakura.

"Sakura, you must listen to Rizel, study magic diligently..." Tohsaka Aoi instructed, her tears streaming down.

"Mother, I know. Rizel and everyone have been so good to me. And I have many friends too." Sakura comforted Tohsaka Aoi.

Tohsaka Rin fidgeted, walked over to Rizel's side, and tugged at his sleeve. She glared at him with a proud yet defiant look and said, "Big idiot, Sakura is entrusted to you. If you dare bully her, I won't let you off."

Rizel chuckled and mischievously replied, "Then I won't bully Sakura. How about bullying you instead?"

He reached out and pinched Tohsaka Rin's cheek.

Tohsaka Rin's face immediately flushed red, her heart pounding, trying to suppress her embarrassment as she spoke.

"Big idiot, stop, don't pinch me. I'll hit you."

Tohsaka Rin raised her small hand and lightly punched Rizel's chest.

Tohsaka Aoi watched Rizel and Tohsaka Rin joking around, her gaze flickering as if she were lost in thought.

Then, Rizel hugged Sakura.

"If you miss Sakura, you can contact me anytime. I will bring her back to see her family."

"Madam, write down my phone number..."

Rizel gave his mobile number to Tohsaka Aoi. Since both Tohsaka Rin and Tohsaka Tokiomi were technologically challenged, only Tohsaka Aoi had a functional phone in the family.

After Tohsaka Aoi wrote down the phone number, Rizel slowly rose into the air, holding Sakura, while the family watched in awe.

The Tohsaka family and Arjuna stared wide-eyed as Rizel flew into the sky, eventually turning into a streak of light.

Tohsaka Rin muttered to herself, "Big idiot, he can actually fly."

Tohsaka Tokiomi seriously pondered, "Is this magic? Can Einzbern magic allow someone to fly?"

Though he felt somewhat satisfied with the victory in the Holy Grail War, he remained cautious, carefully contemplating the abilities of this opponent, Rizel.

At night, in Fuyuki City.

At one end of a small alley, there was no one around, and a lone figure slowly walked through.

A person with short black hair, dressed in black sportswear—this person was the second son of the Matou family—Matou Kariya.

Because Rizel had eliminated Matou Zouken earlier, Matou Kariya was not being devoured by the Crest Worms at this moment.

Matou Kariya had learned of Matou Zouken's death a while ago, and he still wanted to return to Fuyuki to see what had happened.

No particular reason, just because he wanted to dance on the grave of that despicable hometown.

However, when he returned to the Matou household, he found that the entire place was sealed with ice, and he could not even enter.

He could only give up.

He then visited the Tohsaka household, hoping to see his goddess—Tohsaka Aoi.

Matou Kariya and Zenjou Aoi, or Tohsaka Aoi, were childhood sweethearts, and he had always secretly admired her. Tohsaka Aoi had always been very kind to him, thinking of him from another's perspective.

But Zenjou Aoi only saw him as a little brother, and in the end, she chose to marry Tohsaka Tokiomi, the person who had fallen from the heavens. (Childhood sweethearts could never compete with the "fallen from heaven" types?)

Even so, Kariya still cared for the Tohsaka mother and daughter in his own way.

Although she had married and had two daughters, what did that matter?

As long as he could take care of his goddess and her daughters, he would be content. (True loyalty, just a bit obsessive.)

But when he entered the Tohsaka house, it wasn't like usual. He didn't see Sakura anywhere.

He then went to ask Tokiomi, who told him about what had happened.

When he heard that Tokiomi had adopted Sakura as an heir to the Matou family, a chill ran down Matou Kariya's spine.

He knew what kind of place the Matou family was—it was hell itself.

He had witnessed the basement full of malice-filled insects.

If Sakura was brought to the Matou household, then all that awaited her were those insects.

Matou Kariya, his face full of anger, punched Tohsaka Tokiomi and, without a word, ran outside, heading toward the Matou family estate.

(He didn't even mention the dark history of the Matou family to Tohsaka Tokiomi.)

Thinking about it, the place had been frozen for so long, it was likely that everyone had already perished.

But Matou Kariya didn't believe it; or perhaps the truth was too hard to accept. He wanted to find Sakura, even if it meant only finding her corpse.

However, he couldn't get into the Matou house, no matter how hard he tried. The ice would never melt.

In the end, Matou Kariya had to give up. But he remembered Sakura's smiling face, remembered his goddess.

Then, the command seal appeared, and after learning of the Holy Grail War, he finally had a purpose: to obtain the Holy Grail and pray for it to save Sakura.

Now, Matou Kariya slowly walked through the streets, searching for participants in the Holy Grail War.

He had already summoned his Servant, who was clad in full black armor—a Berserker.

Through their connection, he learned that this knight was the strongest of the Knights of the Round Table, 'Knight of the Lake'—Lancelot.

He felt that as long as he could compensate for his insufficient magical power, victory was within his grasp. However, he hadn't found a way to increase his magical power, so he was forced to hunt people at night.

He chose to let Berserker absorb the life force of ordinary people to replenish his mana.

For Sakura, Matou Kariya could only apologize to these people.

Of course, Matou Kariya wasn't without a sense of morality. He deliberately targeted criminals or scoundrels.

Today, he was tracking someone named Uryuu Ryuunosuke, a man he had been observing for some time. This man was a psychopathic killer.

Each of his killings was extremely brutal, enjoying the experience of death through the act of taking lives.

Thus, today's target was him. Matou Kariya followed the orange-haired man slowly, keeping his distance.

However, as a seasoned serial killer, Uryuu Ryuunosuke quickly noticed Matou Kariya.

He turned his head and looked across the street. In reality, Uryuu Ryuunosuke was keeping an eye on Matou Kariya from behind.

He was observing if Matou Kariya was a cop. When he noticed his clumsy surveillance techniques, Uryuu Ryuunosuke's lips curled into a slight smile, his eyes gleaming.

He realized the prey had already come to him. He no longer needed to search for other victims—he just had to lead this one to his death.

And so, Uryuu Ryuunosuke walked slowly, with Matou Kariya following him from behind.

The two of them walked along the dark, dimly lit street, their footprints growing fainter with each step.

Suddenly, Uryuu Ryuunosuke entered a narrow alley and moved into an old, rundown room.

Matou Kariya was startled, hurriedly quickening his pace to follow him.

He opened the door to the room and saw the dimly lit hallway with light shining from a room further in.

The surroundings were shrouded in darkness, and Matou Kariya cautiously walked down the hallway. Strange, eerie sounds echoed through the darkness—these were the sounds of the old wooden floor creaking beneath his feet.

Matou Kariya felt his heart racing wildly.

At that moment, a sudden 'crack' sounded from behind him, and Matou Kariya turned around, only to find the front door had automatically closed.

"Aha, welcome to my territory," a voice called out.

Matou Kariya turned his head, only to be greeted by a staff, quickly swinging toward his head.

But Matou Kariya reacted swiftly, raising both arms to block the blow, the staff hitting with a dull thud against his crossed arms.

"Aha, why did you block that? Wouldn't it be better to just let me kill you?" Uryuu Ryuunosuke licked his lips and taunted.

"Hmph, today is your end, I will offer my body for my wish."

"Berserker, kill him. Absorb his life force."

Matou Kariya wasted no time and issued the order directly.

"Huh? What are you saying, should I…?" Before Uryuu Ryuunosuke could finish his words, he saw a dark-armored knight, wielding a long sword, thrust through his body.

Uryuu Ryuunosuke looked down, noticing the blood flowing from his wound, muttering to himself.

"So, all this time, what I've been chasing was my own body. If you'd told me sooner..."

Afterward, he was drained of his life force by Berserker. At this moment, Matou Kariya noticed the command seal on Uryuu Ryuunosuke's hand.

He immediately transferred the command seal to himself, gaining three more lines of command seals. His chances of winning had now increased.

After cleaning up the scene, Matou Kariya was preparing to return.

"Heh, this is quite the unexpected delight," a voice suddenly came from behind Matou Kariya.

Matou Kariya was startled and called out to Berserker. He turned around and saw a man with black hair, his body covered in red and black runes. Only his lower body was wrapped in a red cloth, standing alongside a pale-skinned, middle-aged man in black floral attire.
