Chapter 34: Chapter 34: Ning Rongrong’s Thoughts
Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan
In the discussion hall of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan, the grand northern seat facing south held a delicately carved rosewood chair, its back inlaid with an exquisite piece of jade.
The jade was a vibrant emerald green, exuding a gentle warmth—a top-quality warm jade.
Seated on the chair was a middle-aged man with refined features. His clean white robes were spotless, and his serene demeanor made him seem like an ordinary person. His black hair flowed loosely over his shoulders, adding an air of casual elegance.
At this moment, his calm gaze was fixed on a young man in white combat attire kneeling before him.
"Reporting to the clan leader, the young lady has arrived at Shrek Academy and successfully passed the entrance examination."
The young man's tone was respectful.
The middle-aged man, Ning Fengzhi, nodded, a trace of helplessness flickering in his expression.
"It's good that she's out to experience the world; otherwise, she'd turn the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan upside down. How's Shrek Academy?"
The young man's face stiffened slightly.
"I've never seen such a poor excuse for an academy. There's no proper infrastructure at all. The only commendable aspect is their abundance of capable teachers. At least one soul saint and several soul emperors are present. Unfortunately, I couldn't infiltrate deeper."
"However, I have delivered the letter as instructed. It will surely reach the dean."
Ning Fengzhi smiled faintly. "That will suffice. You may leave."
"Yes, clan leader." The young man bowed and left swiftly.
Suddenly, a powerful voice echoed throughout the hall, reverberating as though coming from all directions and causing the walls to tremble.
"Fengzhi, are you really at ease letting Rongrong stay out there alone? Do you think Shrek Academy can teach her better than we can?"
An elderly man with white hair and a youthful face emerged from the rear hall, plopping down unceremoniously in a chair beside Ning Fengzhi.
"Uncle Jian, this was Rongrong's own choice. It's good for her to face some challenges. Besides, we've indulged her too much already!"
The elder, Sword Douluo, snorted, unconvinced.
"Rongrong isn't someone who lacks sense. Even if she's a bit headstrong, that's no reason to suppress her nature. And with us here, can't we protect her for a lifetime?"
Sword Douluo's tone was firm.
Ning Fengzhi sighed. "That's not the point, Uncle Jian. Rongrong's innate ninth-level soul power makes her the most promising candidate to break the rank-80 Soul Douluo barrier in the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan. If she continues to laze around, she'll waste her talent."
Sword Douluo fell silent for a moment before grumbling, "Fine, but remember, you have many sons, but only one daughter. If anything happens to Rongrong, I'll beat you senseless!"
Ning Fengzhi could only offer a wry smile. After all, Sword Douluo was serious—he'd been disciplined countless times by him as a child.
"Rongrong, where are you off to?"
Ning Rongrong's eyes twinkled mischievously as she saw Xiao Wu and Yun Feng ahead.
"I'm planning to visit Soto City. Want to come? I'll treat you to everything today!"
Xiao Wu's eyes lit up instantly. She turned to Yun Feng and exclaimed, "Yun Feng, let's go! Rongrong is loaded!"
Yun Feng wasn't particularly materialistic, but after a moment's thought, he nodded.
"Alright, then I'll have to trouble you, Rongrong."
Ning Rongrong waved dismissively. "We're classmates. Just call me Rongrong!"
Though wealthy, Ning Rongrong wasn't one to actively invite people. Her curiosity about Yun Feng had prompted her to ask.
When Yun Feng summoned his martial soul, even her Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda had felt suppressed.
Moreover, he had already reached rank 40 at such a young age—a feat that was no joke.
Even Xiao Wu, a born genius with innate full soul power, had not reached his level.
This made Ning Rongrong suspect Yun Feng harbored secrets.
Furthermore, she had another motive. A prodigy like Yun Feng would be a valuable addition to the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan, and recruiting him would be a significant contribution to her family.
Her favorable impression of Yun Feng was high—both for his appearance and strength.
The three of them ignored Flender's earlier instructions for training, indulging in shopping sprees and feasting in Soto City before returning to the academy.
As night fell, Flender stood on the large training field, his sharp gaze scanning the eight assembled students.
Dai Mubai, Tang San, Ma Hongjun, and Zhu Zhuqing were neatly prepared for the evening's lessons, their spirits high.
Yun Feng and Xiao Wu, on the other hand, appeared relaxed and carefree.
Flender's attention, however, was on two specific students.
"Oscar, did you finish your twenty laps?"
His piercing stare made it impossible to meet his gaze.
Yun Feng, knowing Flender's intentions, smirked. He had noticed no other teachers around during the day, which made Flender's motives clear.
Oscar coughed lightly, nodding. "Dean, I completed the laps."
Flender sneered. "I asked if you all finished the laps, not just you."
Oscar glanced nervously at Ning Rongrong, who met his gaze with an innocent expression.
Clenching his teeth, Oscar nodded again. "Yes, we both finished."
Flender's smile turned sinister.
"Good, Oscar. Your sense of camaraderie is admirable. Step forward."
Oscar sighed and stepped up reluctantly.
Flender raised his hand and patted Oscar lightly on the shoulder.
"I appreciate your spirit of teamwork. So, let's see how deep it runs. Run another twenty laps. No dinner until you're done."
"And don't bother trying to use your soul power—I've sealed it. Off you go."
Oscar's face turned pale, but he had no choice but to comply, trudging off into the night.
Ning Rongrong smirked slightly, her noble air radiating confidence. Yun Feng couldn't help bu
t chuckle, recognizing the playful but unyielding nature of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan's little princess.
