"Haha, you're actually in a hurry for once! Don't worry, I've got everything ready" Dugu Bo teased before leaping effortlessly to the top of a cliff. He pulled out a small, wriggling creature from his Ruyi Treasure Bag — a Soft-Bone Rabbit and judging by its age, it was a young soul beast, no more than ten years old.
Returning to Tianlin's side Dugu Bo grinned "I caught this little fellow especially for you."
Confused Tianlin asked "What are you planning to do with a Soft-Bone Rabbit?"
"The soul beast I've found for you is called the Swift Golden-Winged Eagle" Dugu Bo explained "It's incredibly fast and has a powerful attack. It flies high in the sky and is extremely difficult to catch. So, we need bait to lure it out — and the Soft-Bone Rabbit happens to be its favorite food."
Tianlin nodded in understanding "No wonder Xiao Wu developed her Rabbit Kicks Eagle technique It must have originated from dealing with this kind of soul beast to avoid becoming its prey"
Suddenly, an eagle's piercing cry echoed through the canyon. Dugu Bo quickly pulled Jin Tianlin behind a large boulder to hide. The Swift Golden-Winged Eagle's eyesight was famously sharp and if it spotted Dugu Bo then it would likely flee before they had a chance to act.
High above, a majestic eagle soared through the sky. Its body was a brown color, but its wings glistened with a radiant golden hue. The contrast between the ordinary body and the noble wings was striking — anyone could see that the eagle's strength came from its magnificent wings.
"That's The Swift Golden-Winged Eagle?" Tianlin asked in awe.
"Exactly" Dugu Bo confirmed "This canyon is its territory. Its two greatest strengths are its razor-sharp eyesight and its wings which can stir up devastating winds with a single flap"
Dugu Bo studied the eagle carefully "Look at its wingspan — about five and a half meters. That puts its age at roughly 5,500 years. Perfect for you."
The Swift Golden-Winged Eagle circled overhead cautious despite spotting its favorite prey and instead of diving immediately, it scanned its surroundings with its keen eyes, searching for any potential threat.
Fortunately, as a thousand-year soul beast it didn't have the ability to detect a hidden Titled Douluo. After a thorough scan then it finally dove toward the Soft-Bone Rabbit.
"Now's our chance!" Dugu Bo activated his third soul skill "Jade Scale Bewitching Array!"
A cloud of poisonous mist spread across the canyon floor forming a trap. The Swift Golden-Winged Eagle flapped its powerful wings in an attempt to disperse the fog but the mist remained unmoved. This was no ordinary poison — it was a soul skill from a Titled Douluo.
Inside the array, the eagle grew visibly weaker. The poison wasn't lethal, but it sapped its strength with each passing second.
"Time to strike!" Dugu Bo launched himself forward "First soul skill: Giant Python Strength!"
Transformed into a towering green python, Dugu Bo's tail lashed out striking the eagle's head with tremendous force and the impact sent the eagle spiraling to the ground, disoriented and stunned.
"Quick, little monster! The key is its eyes!" Dugu Bo shouted
"Understood!" Tianlin responded without hesitation "Second soul skill: infernal froze dominion!"
Two sword energy — one of extreme ice and the other of searing fire — shot from Tianlin's hands and pierced the eagle's sharp eyes and killing it instantly.
As the battle ended, Dugu Bo gently placed the Soft-Bone Rabbit on the ground "Run along, little one. You're lucky to have survived today."
Tianlin watched with surprise"Old monster, I didn't expect you to let the rabbit go."
Dugu Bo shrugged "There's no need to kill unnecessarily. That's how your master Chen Xin is too. I suppose it's rubbed off on me."
Tianlin chuckled shaking his head in disbelief "The infamous Poison Douluo, with a kind heart. It seems that detoxifying your body has softened your personality"
Dugu Bo smirked "Enough talk. Focus on absorbing the soul ring!"
With a nod Tianlin sat cross-legged and began meditating to absorb the Swift Golden-Winged Eagle's soul ring and Dugu Bo stood nearby, quietly keeping watch.
As Jun Tianlin entered a state of deep concentration, Dugu Bo's gaze softened "Little monster, you've changed my life. You saved me from my poison and even gave me precious pills. I'll protect you and help you reach the peak of this world."
