Chapter 87: Staying on Yardrat, Learning Ability (Part 2)
The days of training on Planet Yardrat flew by.
Six months of complete dedication to training passed in the blink of an eye.
At first, Talot felt a bit out of place because the Yardratians were so hospitable and friendly.
But as he grew familiar with them, it became much like his time on Planet Namek.
On the outskirts of the most bustling residential area of Planet Yardrat, in a spacious training ground.
Talot was deep in his training.
As his training session grew longer, layers of emerald-green energy particles surrounded him.
This energy wasn't ordinary—it was spirit energy. [TN: The word author uses here doesn't translate to spirit energy, rather its more like ki/vitality/life force/primordial ki, but Yardratians techniques/ability need Spirit Control to manipulate this ki, but Ki is already used for other purposes, so I will use spirit energy. There is another example like Spirit Bomb which uses a similar type of energy.]
Planet Yardrat's spirit energy, or in other words, natural energy.
This natural energy was deeply connected to Talot, allowing him to manipulate it with his mind.
He could use it for attacks or absorb it into his body to strengthen himself.
Talot's training had reached a critical stage. Once he crossed this threshold, his new technique would be fully mastered.
Meanwhile, in a nearby building...
The elder of Planet Yardrat, Pybara, was with the Chief of the Yardratians, Pybama.
With them was Salari, who was keeping a close eye on Talot's progress.
"Talot's talent is the most terrifying I've ever seen. Even the most gifted of our Yardratian geniuses pale in comparison. Forget his peers—even in our entire race, there isn't anyone who can rival him."
"In just six short months, he's mastered Forced Spirit Fission, Foresight Technique, and Spirit Transformation Technique. Now, he has even successfully integrated himself into nature. If he truly completes this, he could even perform the Stealth Technique by transforming into natural energy."
Pybara couldn't help but sigh in amazement.
Looking back to six months ago when Talot arrived on Planet Yardrat and asked to learn their race' abilities, Pybara had teased him, saying it would be incredibly difficult for a kid like him to even master one ability.
Even for Yardratians, each of these abilities typically took several months to grasp at a basic level.
Especially the abilities Talot chose to learn—each one usually required years, even decades, to learn.
Who would've thought that in just half a year, Talot would already have mastered several of Planet Yardrat's secret techniques?
Such a learning speed completely overturned Pybara's understanding of what was possible.
"See? You underestimated Brother Talot. Now you're amazed, right? Brother Talot will definitely become the strongest warrior in the universe one day, so learning your abilities is nothing for him." Salari said proudly.
"The strongest warrior in the universe, huh? That's a lofty goal. But with talent like his, maybe one day he really could pull it off," Pybara said, thinking Salari was just a naive kid.
After all, his own knowledge was vast.
From what he knew, while both Salari and Talot were incredibly strong, the gap between them and the universe's strongest warriors was enormous.
"Talot did it again!" exclaimed Pybama, the Chief of Planet Yardrat.
Before their eyes, Talot vanished from sight—proof that he had successfully mastered the Stealth Technique.
Pybara and Salari turned to look, but Talot was nowhere to be seen.
"He really succeeded. He's merged with natural energy and completely disappeared from both sight and perception."
...
Meanwhile, on Talot's side...
Having successfully merged with natural energy to perform the Stealth Technique, Talot felt both excited and in disbelief.
At the same time, a bold new idea formed in his mind.
Whirrr...
Emerald-green light radiated and spread outward from Talot, his aura expanding rapidly.
It transformed into an invisible field of energy, encompassing the surrounding area.
After expanding for a while, the energy field rapidly contracted, drawing all the natural energy within its range into Talot's body and sealing it inside.
At that moment, Talot experienced a profound transformation in his vitality, ki and spirit. The forced absorption of this pure natural energy not only elevated his aura to a higher level but also strengthened his body, making it more robust than ever.
His entire being radiated a sense of boundless vitality.
This natural energy felt remarkably similar to life energy.
Without the healing abilities granted by Porunga, he wouldn't have been able to sense it so distinctly.
'As I thought! Natural energy can indeed be absorbed—at least by me—and it has no side effects!' Talot thought to himself.
According to what Pybara had initially said, it was supposed to be impossible for anyone to forcibly absorb natural energy. But now, it seemed that nothing was absolute.
It was simply something no one had ever done before.
Natural energy—the life force of a planet—was like a potent elixir for Talot.
"Phew..." Exhaling deeply, Talot dispelled his invisibility and carefully examined the changes in his body.
Every cell in his body was filled with powerful natural energy. Even with a single breath, he could feel the exhilaration brought about by the surging Ki and blood within the body.
Calming himself, Talot looked down at his hands.
Through the surface of his skin, he could clearly sense the natural energy he had absorbed moving visibly within him, merging with his aura and integrating with his body.
Even though the absorption wasn't yet complete, his strength had already seen a significant boost. Once he fully refined and absorbed this natural energy, his power level would undoubtedly reach new heights.
The next second, Talot's thoughts moved and he voluntarily unsealed the shackles confining the natural energy, desiring to observe how the natural energy would transform.
To his delight, the natural energy seemed accustomed to staying within his body and showed no intention of leaving.
'I've done it! And I've also discovered a new, faster way to train! From now on, improving my strength will be much easier.'
Talot was overwhelmed with excitement.
Over the past six months on Planet Yardrat, this was by far his greatest achievement.
Through training in various abilities, his strength has continuously improved and broken through.
In terms of numbers, his power level now exceeded 80,000!
Refocusing his thoughts, Talot quickly locked his perception into Salari, Pybara, and Pybama.
With a slight smirk, he activated Instant Transmission. In an instant, he crossed space and appeared before the trio.
"Not bad. Your upgraded Instant Transmission is so seamless now that it doesn't even create a ripple in space. It seems your mastery of this technique has advanced once again."
"With Instant Transmission, along with the several abilities you've learned, you've managed to master the difficult ones. For the simpler abilities, through various fundamental principles, you can attempt to learn them on your own."
"I have nothing left to teach you."
Looking at Talot, Pybara felt an inexplicable sense of accomplishment.
Although Talot is a Saiyan, he was also taught by him, so he can be considered Talot's mentor.
He felt extremely honored to have taught such an excellent disciple.
"This is all thanks to you and the Chief," Talot replied humbly. "Without your guidance, I wouldn't have been able to learn even one of these abilities, let alone so many."
Such words were very pleasing to the ears.
Pybara was very happy, and Pybama also nodded with a smile.
At least Talot was not ungrateful.
"It's been six months since you arrived on Planet Yardrat. Now that you've mastered the abilities you set out to learn, what are your plans?"
"Will you stay here to train in more of our techniques, or...?" Pybama, standing on the side, asked.
Every time it comes to a certain point, this kind of question always arises.
After all, Talot is an outsider; he can stay, but he must eventually leave.
As for his future plans, Talot had already made arrangements.
The abilities he's learned so far are sufficient for now.
As for the future, he'll have to rely on his own innovation.
"I'd like to thank the Elder and the Chief for their care over the past six months."
"I've made up my mind. I'll stay for at most two more days, then leave Planet Yardrat with Salari and embark on the next leg of my journey in the universe."
Talot's sudden serious reply caused the Elder and the Chief's expressions to change slightly.
They had anticipated that Talot would leave eventually, but they hadn't expected it to be so soon.
Over the past six months, Talot had developed a very good relationship with them. They had, in a way, treated Talot like their own child and had taught him the techniques without holding anything back.
"So soon?" Pybama asked, trying to persuade him. "Why not stay a little longer? You've been training nonstop—why not take some rest?"
Talot's sudden decision to leave made it difficult for him to accept it.
Talot replied: "Sure, but two days of rest is enough. Besides, I've already spent a lot of time here, and we have other matters to attend to."
Hearing this, Pybama fell silent. He didn't know how to persuade him or if he could even do it, so he could only respect Talot's decision.
"Since you've made up your mind, we respect your decision. But before you leave, let us prepare a farewell ceremony for you.
"After all, you're a guest of the Yardratians, and over these months, we've come to see you as family." Pybara suggested.
He valued Talot immensely and was certain they would meet again in the future.
"Then I'll accept your offer." Talot didn't refuse the farewell.
After all, he had stayed here for half a year, and he couldn't refuse their kindness as it would be impolite to do so.
