Chapter 80: Chapter 80: The White Stick Figure
Taro couldn't help but feel helpless about the aging of these birds.
Although he now had the God tree physique, with his body's vitality and life force being incredibly strong, he wasn't from the Senju or uzumki clan. He couldn't extend the lives of these little creatures by feeding them his own blood.
(Just to be clear: "The God/divine tree pshysique" means he has a body with the vitality of the God tree from naruto)
Birth, aging, illness, and death—this was the natural cycle. Whether for humans or birds and beasts, it was something unavoidable, something no one could escape.
Even Taro, no matter how long his lifespan seemed to be now, would inevitably reach the end one day.
...Looking back now, it had been more than sixty years since he first met their ancestors. These birds, capable of receiving and sensing the special electromagnetic waves from the Dragon Balls, were not only rare but also reproduced asexually, with a very low egg-hatching success rate.
For Taro to have carried on the bloodline of that bird, which had flown to him from some unknown place all those years ago, was indeed a miracle.
The seven birds following him now were already the fifth generation.
Two years ago, they had started laying eggs, but none of them survived. Worse, some almost lost their own lives in the process. Taro had urgently used the last of his Senzu Beans to save them.
It seemed that the birds sensed Taro's mood. Several of them gently nudged his robe with their little heads. Taro couldn't help but smile softly, stroking their feathers that were no longer as vibrant as before, and sighed quietly, muttering. "Perhaps... it's just the end of their fate..."
"Are you very unwilling for your pets to die?" Ivan asked from the side.
"Yeah." Taro nodded absently.
"Perhaps... I can think of a way to save their lives." the Holy Mage said thoughtfully, though his expression didn't show much confidence.
"What method?" Taro turned to ask.
"It's just a rough idea... Magicians already have some special spells for magical pets, and in the past few years, I've been very interested in that method you described for using magic to unlock physical potential... Hmm, I'll have to think it over more carefully!" Ivan shook his head.
Taro remained silent, his rough palm still stroking their feathers. He whispered. "Would you be willing?"
The birds twisted their heads, glancing at each other. They spread their wings and chirped a few times, though it was unclear if the chirping was an agreement or a refusal.
---
On this day, the weather was fine and warm.
The pale purple sky of the magic planet was very tranquil.
Nineteen years had passed since Taro arrived here.
And the two people from his prophetic dreams who would destroy the planet still had not appeared. The entire planet still looked the same as when Taro first arrived—several scattered villages, and people living peacefully under the guidance of tribal mages.
Hera carried a small basket, heading into the forest to gather ingredients.
"Do-doo la-la... Do-doo la..."
The young girl hummed a song as she walked along the forest path. Having grown up nearby, she knew which areas had more edible plants and which were frequented by wild beasts, allowing her to ensure her own safety.
"Eh, Amus mushrooms?" The young girl's eyes lit up as she spotted a rather unassuming mushroom growing at the base of a large tree. She had been preparing meals for her family for quite a while and immediately recognized it as an excellent ingredient for nourishing the mind.
However, this rare ingredient was hard to come by, and it was rare to find even one in a year. She never expected to come across it today.
The young girl, Hera, happily carried her basket over and took out a small trowel from it, starting to dig for the rare Amus mushroom. However, after quite a bit of effort, she still couldn't manage to dig it up. The reason was simple—her tools were just too ineffective.
Sigh! Hera sat down on the ground with a frown. Suddenly, she heard a few bird calls above her head. She looked up and found a row of small birds perched on the branches of the large tree in front of her.
Hmm, perhaps it wasn't quite right to call them "small birds" anymore, because seven of them had clearly become very old. Their beaks had dulled, their claws were no longer sharp, and their feathers had lost their vibrancy… However, the eighth bird seemed quite young and was larger than the other seven. Hera watched it as it also examined her—the little girl standing below the tree.
"Eh, why does it feel like its gaze is... intelligent?" Hera shivered under the large bird's stare. She thought she must be mistaken—how could a bird have a human-like gaze?
But what happened next truly shocked her, making her widen her eyes in astonishment. She saw the large bird suddenly fold its wings and then stretch them out again. A ball of white light floated in front of the bird!
The white light soon began to visibly change, slowly wriggling and eventually shaping itself into something resembling a dagger or short sword!
The large bird gently flapped its wings, and the white "dagger" slowly descended, eventually hovering in front of Hera, the little girl standing under the tree. Hera stared blankly at the sight, then glanced at the large bird, only to find it calmly looking back at her. It even slightly raised its beak, as if signaling her to do something.
"You, you, you don't mean for me to use this to dig up the Amus mushroom, do you?" Hera stared blankly, pointing at the white "dagger" floating in front of her and then at the Amus mushroom at the tree's base.
The large bird on the tree lightly flapped its wings, seemingly urging her on.
Hera, doubtful but curious, carefully reached out to grab the white "dagger" floating before her. Once she held it, she exclaimed: "So light!" It was unexpectedly light, as if it had no weight at all.
"Can I really use this?"
She placed her small trowel back in the basket, gripped the strange white "dagger" tightly, and tried using it to dig up the Amus mushroom.
The white "dagger" easily cut through the soil and rocks. With little effort, Hera successfully dug up the Amus mushroom. Almost immediately, the white "dagger" in her hand began to dissipate.
After a moment of dazed silence, Hera brushed off the dirt from her clothes and placed the Amus mushroom into her basket. She looked up at the eight birds perched on the tree and waved, smiling. "No matter what, thanks, strange birds!"
Humming a tune, Hera walked away with light steps.
Once she was gone, the large bird on the tree that had been watching her change suddenly. It expanded rapidly, its shape shifting, feathers shedding, its wings rounding, and its beak shrinking into a human mouth—
This eighth bird was, of course, Mu Taro, who had used his transformation technique.
Now appearing as a young man in his twenties, Taro sat on a tree branch, extending his arm. The seven aged birds slowly walked over one by one, and he gently gathered them into his arms.
His eyes, adorned with nine magatama forming a ripple-like pattern, were the Nine tomoe Rinnegan.
"This ability of mine, I've finally started to figure it out."
He softly murmured, recalling that the white "dagger" from earlier was a technique he had developed over the past three years with his Nine Tomoe Rinnegan. If his original Mangekyou Sharingan abilities were the complete control and extreme utilization of energy, then the abilities of his new eyes were…
Taro extended a hand, and white ki energy shot out from his palm. It stayed solid and didn't dissipate, floating in the air beside him, forming a ball. He slightly squinted his eyes, and with the surge of his mental power, he activated his pupil technique. Under his invisible control, the white ki energy morphed into various shapes like daggers, swords, staffs, and more…
"Ki Shaping" seemed to be the name for this ability.
Next, he changed his mental focus once again—
Ki Control, Ki Maximization ane Ki Shaping.
Immediately, the ki energy floating away from his body seemed to be catalyzed, rapidly expanding! What was once a fist-sized ball quickly became a huge mass, nearly the size of a person!
The massive ki energy swelled and shifted, its shape slowly changing as it extended limbs and a head... until, under Taro's control through his mental power and pupil technique, it took the form of a white humanoid figure!
A white "stick figure" made of ki floated beside Taro, and he controlled it, making it fly around the large tree.
"Chirp chirp…" The birds perched on Taro's other arm watched the ki figure curiously.
The ki figure flew a circle around Taro before returning to his front, raising its hand to deliver a punch at his face, carrying intense force. Taro, with a calm expression, raised a finger and lightly intercepted the white "stick figure's" fist.
Boom!
The ki figure was instantly dispersed by his fingertip.
"What's going on?" Taro looked up, his expression unchanged, as the figure of the Holy Mage appeared flying down from the sky. The old man had been absent lately, as if immersed in some research. Wu Tian had a faint guess about what he might be up to.
The Holy Mage glanced at the birds Taro was gently petting. Three more years had passed, and the seven little creatures were even more aged. Their eyes lacked the sharpness they once had.
The old man smiled and saidm "Do you remember what I said three years ago? The method to extend the lives of these little ones, I've perfected it… but now, I'll need a little of your blood."
