Chapter 5: The blue planet
Liryn looked at her son with a serious but careful expression.
Her voice carried a tone that mixed concern and firmness.
"You probably don't understand the situation completely, so I will explain."
She paused, taking a deep breath, while observing him with piercing eyes, as if searching for the right words for something so heavy.
"I have been researching, and I have come to the conclusion that the Saiyans want to eliminate you and other hybrids."
"They sent you to this dangerous planet on purpose, hoping that you would not survive."
Kaelor's eyes widened, surprised and alarmed, but Liryn continued before he could answer.
"But I will not accept this result helplessly. I have modified your spaceship. Now, you will be able to go to any planet you want and start a new life."
Her voice carried an unusual weight, and she looked at her son with a mixture of determination and sadness.
"I have analyzed several planets. Some have species similar to ours. They resemble Saiyans and Tuffles, but they seem to live in peace. You will have the chance to start over, far from their hatred."
Liryn began typing quickly on the spaceship's computer, her fingers gliding over the controls with precision.
After a few moments, she turned the screen to Kaelor, showing a panel full of detailed information.
"These are the ship's main functions," she explained, pointing to the icons.
"And here are the instructions for dealing with possible adverse scenarios. Memorize everything, Kaelor."
He nodded, absorbing every word, but his gaze was fixed on his mother, as if trying to engrave her face into his memory.
Liryn leaned over and kissed her son's forehead tenderly, her expression overflowing with love and silent sadness.
"Goodbye, my son," she said with a forced smile, fighting the pain of letting him go. Kaelor watched her as she walked away, her every movement seeming to weigh an eternity.
His eyes, once filled with insecurity, shone with a newfound intensity. He clenched his fists and raised his face, now resolute.
A flame of determination grew within him, fueled by the farewell and the hard truth he had learned.
"Weakness is the root of all evil." he thought, echoing what had now become his mantra.
"For from it arise envy, fear, and submission to external forces. Strength, on the other hand, is the essence of goodness, for it liberates, elevates, and enables one to shape one's own destiny. To seek strength is to seek happiness, for only those who master themselves can truly live fully."
Kaelor knew what he had to do. Never again would he allow weakness to define him or put those he loved at risk.
He would be strong.
He would create his own destiny. He didn't need to digress too much about what his destiny would be.
It was obvious to anyone who had ever watched Dragon Ball: his destiny was planet Earth. Upon entering the spaceship, he checked the navigation systems, adjusted the route and activated camouflage mode.
He looked at the panel that displayed the estimated travel time: one year. "One year..."
He muttered, imagining that it would be enough time to binge-watch several series, if he had access to a streaming service.
But, of course, that was not an option in the emptiness of space. With no other alternative, he sighed, walked to the seat and activated the system.
The sound of mechanisms filled the room as the artificial cold began to take over. He felt his eyelids grow heavy and, before he could reflect further on the long journey, he fell asleep.
The clear midday sky was torn apart by a bright light that crossed the horizon, fast as lightning.
A deafening boom echoed through the wheat fields, shaking the ground and making the birds take flight in despair.
in the center of the vast field, the spherical spaceship crashed into the earth, creating a deep crater. The shockwave ripped plants from the ground and left the field in ruins.
The ship, gleaming with metallic tones, released steam from its fissures while the earth around it still smoked.
In the distance, an old farmer, a straw hat askew on his head, watched the scene with his mouth half open.
The tractor beside him seemed tiny in the face of the colossal impact.
He muttered, shaking his head in disbelief: "What the hell... All my work... destroyed by this thing!"
Before he could get closer, the surface of the spaceship began to emit a soft glow, and a mechanical sound reverberated through the air.
A hatch opened with a sharp hiss, revealing a shadow inside. From it emerged a small child, with disheveled hair and a bushy tail that swung lazily behind him.
She blinked a few times, adjusting to the daylight, and then looked around with a blank expression, as if she were assessing her surroundings.
The farmer took a step back, holding his hat, his eyes wide with sheer astonishment.
"It's not possible... What are you?!"
The child turned her head, he looked towards him with a calm gaze and silently took a step out of the crater.
The weight of his presence seemed greater than anything the farmer had ever felt.
"Sorry." He spoke to the farmer with his hand behind his head, smiled and apologized.
Kaelor re-entered the spaceship, taking one last look at the devastated farm.
He sighed. He had wronged someone. With a command, the ship took off smoothly, disappearing into the horizon until landing in a clearing in the middle of a dense forest.
The fresh smell of nature enveloped him as soon as he stepped out of the ship, flooding his senses. It was a familiar aroma, somehow comforting, as if it were the Earth he was familiar with.
He took a deep breath and felt an unexpected calm.
"Well... I guess I should look for Master Roshi, right?" He said to himself, rubbing his chin as he looked up at the sky.
But one question soon bothered him: How will I find his island? It was then that an idea struck him.
Kaelor remembered that Master Roshi was not just a recluse on a distant island; he was a well-known figure on Earth.
Surely someone in a large city would know how to locate him. Taking precautions, he activated the spaceship's camouflage system, which disappeared from view in an instant, blending into the surrounding vegetation.
To ensure that he could find it again, he placed discreet marks on nearby trees, a simple but effective method. Grabbing the Scouter and his rifle, he began walking.
"Now just walk to the nearest city." Kaelor began walking away from the clearing, following the ground covered in leaves and roots.
He glanced up at the sky briefly and decided that he should not fly. He did not want to attract attention or scare people with his presence.
"Better to act like a normal, civilized person." With his hands in his pockets and a calm expression, Kaelor followed the trail, feeling more and more curious and excited with each step.
The journey to civilization had begun. He activated the Scouter and began to look for concentrated fighting powers, it was a sign of civilization.
Soon, several numbers began to beep in the West, with fighting powers ranging from 5 to 10. He began to run at high speed towards the location.
The man was inside his old car, parked on the side of the road, smoking a cigarette and relaxing, trying to enjoy the warmth of the sun.
He watched the horizon with narrowed eyes, noticing the cloud of dust that was forming on the horizon.
Suddenly, he saw something that made him squint. It was a child running on the road, with a gigantic cloud of smoke behind him.
He got out of the car, adjusting his hat on his head, in disbelief at the sight.
"Hey, kid! What's that?" he shouted. The child stopped running, panting, and stared at him with determined eyes.
A tail wagged behind him, and the farmer swallowed hard. "This isn't normal..." he muttered, but before he could react, the boy approached.
"Do you know where Master Roshi's island is?" Kaelor asked bluntly.
The farmer scratched his head, still confused. "Master Roshi? Oh, everyone knows about him! Just head south, to the ocean. You'll need a boat or something that floats..."
Kaelor smiled, with a brief nod. "Thank you!"
Without wasting time, he started running again, leaving the farmer speechless.
"But what was that...? These young people today..." he muttered, returning to the car as he watched the figure disappear in the distance.
Kaelor was forced to stop and rest.
He had run intensely, and now hunger was starting to set in. He needed something to eat and drink.
He approached a river and, with a quick movement, caught a large fish.
He placed it on the ground and, patiently, began trying to make fire with a twig.
When he finally succeeded, he placed the fish over the flames.
As soon as the aroma of the roasted fish filled the air, he took a bite, feeling the warm and comforting flavor in his mouth.
"Beerus loves Earth food in the anime... I wonder if the dishes really are that tasty?" he thought to himself, with a smile. Satisfied, he got up and continued on his journey.
When he got close to the coast, he passed by a suspicious area.
His fighting instinct alerted him, and he thought to himself: This reminds me of the beginning of a bandit subjugation quest.
He noticed some armed and suspicious individuals lurking in the distance.
"What do you want?" Kaelor shouted, interrupting the growing tension.
"Toll!" replied the bald man, accompanied by five subordinates.
Kaelor then activated the Scouter and analyzed the data.
The average combat power was 12, formidable for Earthlings, but nothing relevant for a Saiyan.
With that, he continued walking, ignoring the bandits as if nothing had happened.
Irritated by his disdainful attitude, the bandits attacked in a group, trying to surprise him with punches.
Kaelor, with an agile jump, avoided the blow and, with impressive speed, punched each of them in the stomach with enough force to knock the wind out of them.
"I suggest you choose another profession," he said, his voice cold and authoritative. "And to speed up the process, I'll take that motorcycle and all your money. Otherwise, I'll kill you all and be on my way."
The bald man, now trembling, smiled submissively. "Of course, sir, please feel free to take whatever you want, the motorcycle and the money are yours."
"Take? No, you're giving me a gift. I'm a fair man, and I generously accepted your gift," Kaelor replied with an ironic smile.
The bald man quickly agreed, promising to lead a more dignified life.
When Kaelor walked away, visibly terrified, the bald man scolded his subordinates for attacking someone without reason.
"How could you attack someone as fair and noble as that child?" he exclaimed, his voice filled with despair.
His subordinates, irritated, retorted: "You were the one who ordered it!"
Embarrassed, the bald man decided to take out his frustration on something.
He kicked a rock in anger, but the moment he hit it, he realized he had made the wrong move and ended up hurting his foot.
He began to scream in pain and ask for help, but no one was willing to help him.
I have to be close to the coast, at least. Kaelor thought to himself, trying to focus on his journey.
When he finally saw the ocean on the horizon, he became excited.
When he reached the beach, he saw an old man with a turtle shell on his back and, suddenly, he became euphoric.
"It's him, it's Master Roshi!" he exclaimed, accelerating to get closer to the old man.
When he stopped the motorcycle on the sand, a curtain of dust was raised and enveloped the old man.
Coughing, Master Roshi, a little irritated, replied, "You are a naughty young man, playing a trick on a frail old man like me."
Kaelor, embarrassed, hurried to reply, "Thank you for the compliment, but that was not my intention."
Master Roshi was silent for a moment, regarding Kaelor thoughtfully. "This child... is quite a shameless one."
