Chapter 3: Chapter 3 : Valuable Seafood
Randall came back for his blind date in a hurry, and there was no food at home. He had to eat at his uncle's.
Outside his uncle's yard, Randall pushed open the door. Randall's voice heard from the inside before he walked in. "Uncle, us dinner ready? it smells so good".
"You're back."
There was the sound of benches being moved. Mike came out with his hands behind his back, holding a cigarette stick.
A Man dressed as a rustic, with bent shoulders and a plain face stood in front of him.
This was Mike, Randall's uncle.
"How come you didn't come back until dinner time?"
Mike glared at Randall.
Jane, Randall's aunt stepped out and turned to Randall, "Now that you're going on a blind date, you need to be more prudent, okay? Let's have dinner. it'll get cold soon."
Randall was holding something in his hand and didn't know what to say. What did I do? I didn't do anything...
Jane noticed the fish Randall was holding. Jane asked, "Randall did you buy the fish? How much a fish of this size costs!"
Mike also frowned, "You have to pay to eat at my home! What do you take me for?"
Randall replied, "Uncle, Aunt, I just cleaned the old yard and broke a sweat. So I went to take a shower in the river. I didn't buy it. I caught it in the river.
" You caught it from the river?"
Mike became even angrier and scolded," You can catch such a big fish in the river with your bare hands? Are you kidding me! "
" Uncle it's true. It got entangled in a broken net by accident and I caught it. "
Randall said what he had planned.
" What kind of fish is this? Snakehead a real snakehead!
"snakehead fish in the market are generally very small.
"But how big is this fish? You wouldn't find one that big in every market in the country.
" How could I possibly buy such a fish in our town? "
" What? is it a snakehead? "
Mike heard it was a snakehead so he immediately came over with a surprised look.
Mike looked at it and was shocked," It's a snakehead, "Mike said sharply it's worth a lot of money."
Mike believed and said to Jane , "Go and get the basin. Randall, go put it in the basin. don't let it die.
" Nowadays, snakeheads of this size are rare. They are monsters of fish. It's very valuable. "
Mike filled the big basin with water and put the snakehead in it.
Then Mike wheeled his tricycle,
" Randall, come on! Get the basin in the tricycle. Let's go to the fish market and sell this big fish. If it's dead, it's not worth much."
Jane said, "It's time for dinner. Don't go. Have dinner before you go."
Mike immediately retorted, "What do you know? At this time, those hotel managers in the town are in the fish market to select fresh goods just out of water."
"The snakehead is so big and it's pure wild, they'll take a fancy to it. The price is at least twice the market price!"
"What? wouldn't that sell for a lot of money?"
Jane's eyes widened in surprise. The snakehead was worth a fortune.
Jane didn't stop them but urged them to go.
Instead, Randall was stunned, "Uncle is the snakehead really worth that much?"
"Yes!"
Mike said "Randall the price at the fish market are different every day. This snakehead is an absolute treasure! It will only cost more than I said!"
Randall heard this, and suddenly he felt a little confused.
Randall hadn't realize how quickly the fish market has changed since he was gone for years.
Randall pulled up his fluffy shirt, his eyes full of anticipation, "What about crabs? How much are crabs now?
" Crabs? "
Mike turned his head and looked at Randall's bulging clothes. Mike's eyes lit up, "Did you catch crabs?"
"Yes. more than thirty crabs."
With that, Randall just dumped the crabs out.
"Oh!"
When Mike saw the crabs, he couldn't help being surprised.
"These crabs are not small.
" This, this one and this one... They are very big. Randall, you really got lucky today!
"crabs are sold individually. Small crabs can cost tens dollars, and larger crabs cost hundreds or thousands of dollars."
Mike looked at the crabs and said excitedly.
"What? Crabs are so expensive now? Can a crab cost that much?"
Randall gasped in disbelief at Mike's words.
Randall knew crabs were always expensive, but he never they would be that expensive.
Randall has heard that the most expensive crab was just 700 dollars.
At the time, the crab was so expensive because it had some special meaning.
it was 2020 then. just two years later, it skyrocketed to it's current price.
"Expensive?"
Mike snorted, "Randall, you work in a big city. Don't you know how rich people like to eat expensive things?"
"That's a male crab. Male crabs of that size are ridiculously expensive!"
"Let's stop dwadling! Let's go to the fish market during dinner time. If one of them dies, it will be a great loss. "
Mike grabbed Randall and got on the tricycle and drove to the fish market.
As the Mercer's Village was on the edge of the town. They arrived at the fish market in a few minutes.
They went into the fish market.
Randall looked at the scarcely populated market and was a little surprised, "Uncle, there aren't that many people in the fish market."
Mike smiled and explained, "A lot of people have gone home for dinner. So there are relatively few people in the fish market."
"The people who still wander in the fish market are basically some rich people!"
"These people have a unique appetite and they like to show off by picking something fresh out of the water."
"A small number are purchasing managers or restaurant owners in some hotels. They come for the best fresh stuff."
"In short, these are our target customers."
"Okay."
"Shall we yell?" Randall asked
"They must know we have something fresh out of the water. Just sit and wait for them."
Mike said easily, parked the tricycle in a booth, and then lit up the cigarette.
As soon as Randall saw Mike's posture, he believed Mike was really a man of great experience.
Then. A whole crowd of people started coming towards them.
