During the Dark Ages

"Arggggghhhhhh." Vergil screamed in pain as the [Cancelling Wave] wreaked havoc within his body causing him to cough up black blood.....and feel pain.

"What did you do to me?!" Vergil asked as he reeled in pain from the energy destroying his body from within

"Oh nothing much, I just sent cancelling energy directly into your body. Although most monsters physiology are mysterious, you guys are pretty basic and common in the underworld and I know a lot about your body. Your soul crystal is located in your chest area and sending cancelling energy directly into your soul crystal is more than enough to disrupt the energy flow in your body. And cause you pain." Lily said, most monsters had bodies that didn't make sense, like multiple creatures conjoined together and the same species of monster doesn't always look alike. This makes the energy flow in their body weird and hard to predict, but a Corpse Lord's physiology is pretty simple when compared to other monsters as it was similar to humans and demon subspecies. Her weapon was made with the soul crystal of a type of monster with the ability to cancel out certain attacks and reek havoc with demonic energy flow within a creature's body on direct contact. This ability was infused within her weapon and she has made full use of that ability in her fights. The ability didn't work well on monsters due to their weird physiques, but it worked marvelously on demons and demonic beasts alike, but she can only use it through direct contact.

"You bitch, I'll kill you." Vergil said as he charged towards her and her image was turned into pink mist

"I also know that I can't pierce through your bone armour, not with my strength, but I don't need to. My illusions work wonderfully on you, and with my cancelling wave, I can attack you from the inside." Lily said as Vergil tried to pinpoint where her voice is coming from. He suddenly felt something hard hit his head and quickly turned around, but nothing was there, he felt another impact to his knee, causing him to fall to the ground. He roared and released a wave of black mist out of his body, causing all the trees around them to decay and turn to dust.

"Even if you hide, the mist will make you decay and unlike an undead, you don't have any protection against this attack." Vergil said and Lily knew he was right, but she wasn't worried. She was currently in the sky and the mist hasn't reached her, so she was safe for now, but attacking the undead has become difficult now. Her staff would have a difficult time piercing though that bone armour, but their was somewhere that she could attacked, a vulnerable spot. She inhaled sharply before holding her breath and diving into the dark mist. She turned her staff into a whip and swung it towards his face, causing the serpent head to open it's mouth and sink it's fangs into Vergil's eye.

"There you are." Vergil said as he turned around and sent a powerful punch filled with demonic energy, releasing a powerful shockwave that sent Lily flying backwards, and undoing her [Illusory Veil].

'Even though I expected that, it still hurts.' Lily thought as she quickly got to her feet. Vergil charged towards her, not wanting to let this opportunity slip by, but he suddenly made a sharp turn, crashing into a few trees before coming to a stop.

'It looks like the venom is taking effect.' Lily thought as she hid behind a tree. This was another ability of her cursed weapon, it creates a venom stored within the serpent that makes it easier for her to influence a creature's mind using her affinity. The effects of the poison on how resistant a creature was to mind attacks and their overall intelligence and since a corpse Lord was as intelligent as an average human and had no traits that shielded the mind, the venom worked spectacularly. The only problem with using her weapons abilities was that they took a lot of DP to use.

'My DP is running low, I need to finish this quickly. One precise blow to the head should do it.' Lily thought and just as she was about to attack, she heard a loud bang and saw something crash heavily into the ground near her.
