Chapter 7: Chapter 7: demonic energy
It sort of looked like a humanoid cross between a horse, a fish and a toad, what was it called again?. .
. A, uh.
. .
murdoc? Murduck?. .
. Murloc that's it, it looked like a more humanoid murloc.

Well seeing as I want to figure out how strong things are in this world, I'll prod it a bit.
---
The stray devil was exhausted, having just barely escaped from the underworld after killing his 'King' using a half activated contract summon amidst the spells flying his way. He had used up alot of his demonic energy in hurrying it up and had taken temporary shelter in the city he was summoned to after killing his summoner, but he was still jumpy from the adrenaline and exhaustion.
Hearing a sudden noise he immediately sprung up while his eyes swerved around erratically looking for any signs of an enemy, a few seconds later he almost had a heart attack as what looked like a bullet of holy energy sped towards him. Just barely being able to jump away in time, he scrambled back up to his feet as the stress of the last few hours gradually turned into rage.
"Hey you, exorcist fucks! Don't even have the balls to show yourselves anymore, huh!? Fucking cowards!"
Rushing in the direction the bullet came from, he burst through the wall in a show of dust and debris.
---
Hmm. .
. doesn't look like it's all that strong, although clearly above human levels, it's nothing I can't handle.
I got some interesting intel, though. Exorcists are apparently a thing and seeing how frantically it tried to avoid the hard-light bullet, this is probably a demon or something similar, furthermore since it looks like it mistook the hard-light bullet for something else, light or holy magic probably exists, so magic is a thing here.
Equipping my Punching Rig I clenched my fists as a smile gradually appeared under my mask.
Let's do this.
---
Still frantically looking around, the stray devil tried sensing the enemy's location and got nothing at all. No presence, no vile holy energy and nothing that would indicate another being lurking around.
The stillness lasted for a few moments before an extremely loud noise rang out from behind him, quickly turning around he saw a weird speaker box on the ground slightly further away. Eyes quickly widening, he quickly started turning back around, though not fast enough.
Out of the corner of his eye he saw a redheaded little girl wearing a metallic mask covering the bottom half of her face with a big mechanical fist coated in an electric purple-blue aura cocked back flying straight towards him. As if time slowed down, he heard what sounded like a tank firing as the lines running through the gauntlet briefly flared up in combustion and it instantly sped up.
The last thing he heard being. .
.
"Koko Puuuunch~!!!"
Can You Anger Someone To Death?
Author's Note: Haven't read through this yet, I'll do it later.
As Koko's fist made contact with the stray devil, it was like time slowed down for a moment before it shot off with a meaty thud leaving a trail of purple energy behind as it flew towards the forest, the force of the punch spreading outwards from the point of contact cracking the surrounding area.
Quickly sending psychic energy through her gauntlets, a TT field instantly appeared around her silhouette before she bent her knees and shot after the stray devil with the sound of a bullet firing, further cracking the ground beneath her.
---
The stray devil eventually ended up landing in a clearing roughly the size of 2 football fields next to each other. Harshly crashing into the ground the stray devil continued involuntarily rolling for about a dozen meters before managing to reduce the momentum, barely having time to staggeringly right himself, before Koko shot out of the shrubbery in a flash of purple.
Landing a few meters away from the stray devil, Koko looked at his miserable appearance. Barely standing straight, the stray devil was panting while holding onto where Koko punched it, it's eyes slightly unfocused before locking onto her figure.
Just staring at her for a few moments, it's eyes widened slightly in recognition, before narrowing as his body started slightly shake in rage.
"Who the fuck are you supposed to be, huh!?"
"Sup my name's Koko, I picked it myself. "
The stray devil's eye twitched at her nonchalant reply.
"I don't feel any holy magic from you, so you ain't with the church fucks, you just another nobody trying to play hero or something!?
"Nah I was just a bit curious since you appeared on my radar a few hours ago and wanted to check it out. "
". .
. "
The stray devil could feel his blood boiling. He grit his teeth while feeling the nerves in his temple getting closer and closer to bursting, it wasn't long after that his anger broke through his composure.
Forgetting about the power of the punch he recieved not too long ago, he roared.
"Are you underestimating me!? You're just a fucking human, do you think you can beat me? Me!? I'm a fucking Mid-Class devil and it won't be long before I reach High-Class now that I've escaped that pathetic fuck that thought he could control me. After that I'll eventually reach Ultimate-Class, you don't know who you're messing-"
While the stray devil was going on a rant, Koko was currently messing with pieces of debris she found in her hair in thought. If this was a 'Mid-class' devil and there were both High-class and Ultimate-class above that, this guy was probably fodder material, which got her thinking.
If she by chance met someone faster than her, she needed something to help her be able to actually hit them. Now the question was, did she want something to make her enemies slower, herself faster or something else entirely?
Why not all three?

Eventually running out of steam, the stray devil looked up to see Koko absentmindedly using her fingers to flick small pieces of debris at one of the trees at the edge of the clearing. Staring uncomprehendingly.
