A few minutes later, after discussing each other's terms, Rias was holding the magical contract she had used yesterday, she along with Micael had set out the terms in more detail in the contract, renewing it for them to sign again.

Holding the contract in hand, Rias read it word by word to confirm that everything was in agreement, then as she read it she spoke.

"So, in short, you want help protecting your family?"

With his arm resting on the arm of the sofa and supporting his head with his hand, Micael responded to her.

"Right."

"Beyond that, I will also have to support you with some resources to help you get stronger faster."

She continued to speak without looking at him as she read the contract.

Nodding, he responded again.

"Yes."

"And in exchange for that, you will help me with your powers in any endeavor I have, be it hunting a stray devil, training or even some commitment involving the devil's society, all within reason and if it is not against your morals."

"Basically, yes."

"Hmm..."

The girl muttered weakly, her bottom lip jutting out in a thoughtful pout as she silently looked at the contract.

Seeing the girl's actions, Micael asked, raising an eyebrow.

"What's the matter, weren't we discussing the details of the agreement just now?"

Turning her head and looking at him, she smiled slightly as she replied.

"It's nothing, I'm just repeating what we discussed for the sake of repeating it."

"Mm, understandable."

Nodding his head at her, he responded with an expression of understanding.

He really understood, as he himself has a similar habit, of repeating an action even though he knew it was ok, it was similar to OCD, or simply letting the intrusive thoughts win.

Then, uncrossing his arms and getting up from the sofa and remaining standing, he looked at her and spoke.

"So I guess now is the time for you to see exactly what I can do."

While they discussed the details of the agreement, Micael explained in more detail what he could do, of course he didn't say what his power was, he just corroborated what he had told him before, that he could manipulate his own body, elements of nature and heal.

And furthermore, he told her before she signed that he could demonstrate his power so that she would understand better and be more comfortable signing the agreement, and the girl's response was that he could do it later, which in this case is now.

Then, understanding what he meant, Rias from her sitting position on the sofa, asked looking at him.

"Okay, but how exactly do you plan to do this?"

Placing one hand on his chin with a thoughtful look and the other on his waist, he replied

"At first, I simply wanted to demonstrate what I can do, but now I think sparring is the best option."

Looking at him in confusion, she tilted her head a little as she asked.

"Well..." — Looking at her, he took his hand off his chin, gesturing to corroborate what he was saying. — "In this partnership of ours, I'm essentially a mercenary hired for manual labor, I can help you by supporting you with my healing, but overall my greatest use is in combat, so it makes a lot more sense if you could see what I can do in a combat scenario, right?"

Making a thoughtful expression, she muttered as she responded.

"Mm, I see, but how do you want to do that exactly, do you want to fight one of us?"

Nodding his head in confirmation to her question, he responded.

"Yes, exactly, but I could say I'm an expert in hand-to-hand combat, so I was thinking about fighting Kiba since you said he was a knight."

With the boy in question receiving Micael's gaze, he smiled somewhat awkwardly as he responded.

"Sorry, Micael-san, I'm a swordsman, I don't think I'd be a good sparring partner for you."

"Uh, really? Well, I don't think it'll be a big problem, you at least know a little about unarmed combat, right?"

He asked looking at him.

With the awkward smile on his face shaking, he replied

"No, not really..."

"Uh..."

Muttering a response, Micael just looked silently at the boy who was scratching his cheek with an embarrassed smile.

Being taken out of his focus, he heard RIas speak to him at the side.

"If that's the case, why don't you fight Koneko?"

"Mm?"

Turning his head to look at her, he saw how she had a smile on her face as she looked at him.

Seeing that she had his attention, she continued.

"Koneko is a tower like I told you, what I didn't mention is that towers are basically specialized for melee combat, as those that fuse with a tower have their physical attributes increased more than the other pieces."

Upon hearing Rias' words, he looked at Koneko with a raised eyebrow as he said.

"If that's the case, that's fine with me, but what does she have to say about it?"

Looking away from Koneko, still with the smile on her face, Rias asked her.

"So, Koneko-chan, what do you think?"

The girl in question, with her characteristically neutral face, nodded slightly as she responded.

"Okay."

Clapping her hands lightly, Rias then spoke.

"Well, then it's decided, let's go outside."

Rias said, getting up from the couch and seeing her action, Koneko, Akeno and Kiba also got up.

But before they could leave, Micael spoke.

"Wait, do you have any extra PE uniforms? It's very likely that our clothes will get torn, at least I don't have any method to protect my clothes."

Understanding what he meant, Rias turned to Akeno and spoke.

"Akeno, bring him a male uniform, please."

Akeno nodded in response before heading towards the front door.

Seeing the girl walking out the door, Micael turned his head towards Rias as he asked.

"And Koneko?"

Rias opened her mouth to respond, but was preempted by the aforementioned girl.

"It's not necessary."

Upon hearing that low voice in a neutral tone, Micael looked at Koneko and saw the girl looking at him silently after speaking.

Rias looked at the girl as well after hearing her response, then looking at Micael she spoke with a slight smile and a hand resting on her waist.

"You heard her."

Nodding silently, Micael didn't say anything else, deciding to just wait for Akeno to return.

Now with silence enveloping the room as the occupants waited for Akeno, Micael wonders if everything was really okay.

The reason he asked about a uniform for Koneko was that said girl was wearing the girl's school uniform, meaning she was wearing a skirt, not to mention that the uniform was definitely not strong enough to withstand the fight they would have without tear up.

But since the girl said everything was fine, maybe he doesn't need to worry.

'She must use devil energy somehow to protect the uniform and keep it from tearing, and as for the skirt, she must be wearing shorts underneath, I don't think she would be stupid enough to fight with just her panties underneath without covering herself in any way.'

Believing this to be the current case, Micael decided not to question it.

'...But who am I kidding, this is High School DxD, I'm almost one hundred percent sure something is going to go wrong.'

He didn't forget that the world he lived in followed anime logic, specifically ecchi logic, whether he somehow gropes her or through some absurdity he manages to take off her clothes exposing her, something like that will probably happen.

He may not be Issei or a harem protagonist, nor have Yuuji Rito's perverted luck, but he had already seen too many absurd situations to doubt something like this, after all it wouldn't be the first time something like this happened to him.

However, even knowing this risk, he was still willing to fight with Koneko, even though the girl would probably hit him without holding back even if he wasn't at fault, it's not like he wasn't prepared for that too.

'I already know what to do if the situation goes that way, who knows, maybe I'll be lucky and it won't end up like this.'

With his internal monologue about the non-existent logic of this world lasting for a moment, he was brought out of his thoughts by Akeno's return.

As he approached him, the girl offered him the folded clothes she had in her hands.

"Here."

"Thanks."

He responded in thanks after picking up the clothes.

"Alright, you can change right here, we'll wait for you outside."

After seeing him receive the clothes, Rias spoke as she headed towards the door to leave with the others.

Click—

Accompanied by the click of the door closing, Micael watched them leave, then looking at the clothes in hand, he placed them on the sofa while he began to take off his t-shirt.

But his movements stopped with his shirt rising to his chest, lowering his hands, he looked silently around the room with an eyebrow raised in a suspicious look.

He was thinking that since the supposed barrier camera was invisible and could capture anywhere inside the barrier, that didn't mean it could capture inside the building as well, right?

If so, it would be a huge invasion of privacy, he didn't think Rias would allow him to do such a thing, but perhaps this room could have a different monitoring system, since it was used for meetings and things like that apparently, after all he wasn't sure.

So, despite being suspicious, and even wondering for a moment whether he should use his power to check, nothing changed in the end.

So what if footage of him half naked falls into Rias' hands, it's not like this is one of those hentai scenarios for the girl to try to blackmail him, not that it would work if she did that.

Overall he doesn't lose anything from this, who knows, maybe he gains something?

Then, making up his mind, he continued taking off his t-shirt, folding it and placing it next to his uniform on the sofa.

Then, taking off his shorts, he also folded them and put them on top of his t-shirt, then started putting on his uniform.

Finishing putting on his dark blue shorts and white t-shirt, he went to the door and opened it.

Stepping through the door and closing it behind him, he was met with the sight of the other four staring at him.

Seeing that the boy had already changed his clothes, Rias spoke.

"Let's go."

Turning around, she headed in the opposite direction of the stairs, with the other three and Micael following her.

...

Arriving at a grassy field, a large open space that was behind the old building, Micael looked around curiously, as he had never been here before.

As he looked around, crossing his arms as he stretched, while the girl positioned in front of him a few feet away stared at him silently.

Then beginning to stretch his legs, stretching one while leaning on the other, the grassy ground touching his bare feet, he turned his gaze to the silent girl.

He didn't ask if the girl was going to stretch because she probably didn't think it was necessary, and neither did he.

After stretching his legs, he did a few quick jumps, ending up twisting his head a few times before cracking his neck.

Crack, Crack—

Accompanied by the sound of his neck, he looked to where Rias and the other two were and nodded at the girl.

The girl seeing his wave started to speak.

"As you two are already prepared, you can start now, remember this is just sparring, there is no need to take this seriously, do you understand?"

She spoke to both of them, her gaze turning to Koneko at the end.

"Mm."

With a low murmur and a curt nod, the girl responded while looking at her.

Rias then shifted her gaze to Micael, who responded similarly, but without looking at her.

"Alright."

Receiving the response from both of them, Rias continued saying.

"If you understand, then you can begin."
