Her eyes went lifeless too and I could finally stand up.

*WHOOSH!*

My body flickered faster than lightning to grasp Aqua's body before it hit the floor. but even when I had her in my arms, I didn't know what to do.

They were still burning in flames, unmoving.

"Amaterasu!" I lifted her, slapped her face a few times left and right, an outrageous action that would have slanted a reaction, but she was gone, even her eyes were open but bereft of life. 

"That small one is quite courageous. To sacrifice your soul, I don't know whether she's truly devoted, or just a crafty wench" The voice said quite cheekily, it wasn't in the mood. 

"Bring them back already!"

"Bring them back? Host of order, do you believe this sacrifice is a joke? Those who burn in the flames of creation can only be born anew, those deities don't hold life on them as we speak".

I paled, clenched my nails on Amaterasu's skin and looked up at this being with raw anger, "I don't know who the fuck you are. But they did their sacrifice, so you do your part".

This being looked at me and smiled, "It is you who decides whether there is shame or glory. As far as I can see, you don't seem satisfied, host of order".

"What the hell are you talking about, of course I am moved! Just do something!" I growled with a snarl, this bastard was playing games now. 

"But the way I see it, you were happy when the elf one sacrificed their eyes, and when the dragon sacrificed her scales... but once those two goddesses sacrificed their souls, you felt disappointed regarding the first two. It is a pity, this could have been a miraculous sacrifice, but now, it only amounts to excellence" The voice said with a sigh, rather disappointed.

"That's not–"

"I have been with you ever since you were born, I know you way better than you know yourself, Ray Lux. You are a selfish being".

"..."

"As the one who represents order, selfishness is but a trait the gatekeeper of deities must hold. I deem this sacrifice an excellence grade, very oddly seen in realms as low as these." The mausoleum extended a gigantic arm, and four shiny items appeared levitating within.

"This is your sacrifice, herald of order: Eyes of Midnight, Infinity Scales, Sun Soul and Water Soul. You could choose to have these merged on you as that would be the natural process of things. However, as per your needs, I have presented before you a better option".

The items levitated and merged together into a strong light, this light split in two and one of them approached me and entered my chest. Once the notification rang, I couldn't believe it.

'T-Two millions...'

I wasn't even allowed to be shocked at the amount, this voice wasn't playing games and didn't stop. He took the other remaining shining light and presented it to me. Something came out of me this time, a golden flame, and merged with that light.

*WHOOSH!*

The light produced was so bright that it almost blinded me, and that's a lot to say. The result was marvellous.

"And here are your blessings, deities: Overgod Eyes of Order, Overgod Beyond Overgod Transcendental Scales, Overgod Beligerent Soul, Overgod Impervious Soul. Qualifications for the ascension of deities have been met successfully, the next sacrificial altar shall be available within the next ten thousand universal cycles".

*WHOOSH!*

The voice spoke no more after that, the mausoleum dissipated and gave way to the four bodies levitated in front of me, their bodies got coated by a marvellous golden sheen until it appeared as if they had become golden statues, even Ophis, in her dragon form, looked astonishingly beautiful. 

The next second they descended still wrapped in in gold, although I knew for a fact that it wasn't gold, it was a primal compressed energy, the same one from before, the one that goes beyond infinity and void. 

I had to wait in this void world for a long time until it cleared and we were back at the imperial bath. I didn't dare ask the voice before. What would have happened?

What would have happened if any of their sacrifices were unsatisfactory?

[I believe Ray, the answer would have been erradication] Horus answered me, although uncertain, somehow I didn't doubt him.

The path to Godhood, is harsh, lengthy, and only once you have reached it, you realise it is far from the end.

For me, Amaterasu, it has been so long that I don't even recall the times I was but a wandering spirit on the vast earth, representing the sun, gaining the faith of all living beings until I became what I am today—or what I was.

In my world, which I then believed was secluded and inaccessible, we deities all strive for progress fruitlessly. 

This is a harsh ladder that could make even the strongest deities despair as it plays around our inherent nature; that desire to climb that ladder. The higher you go, the greater your scope becomes, you are more aware of the higher floors, but the harder it is to climb. 

From Zeus to Odin, from Shiva to the Jade Emperor. We were all the same, in the same bottleneck, unable to step forward. A community of gods, spending a wondrous amount of resources on fruitless research of our own, for thousands of years.

Only Great Red and the Ouroboros Dragon, perhaps a single step above, were existences that were born from the beginning of times, immutable; even they were unable to step forward nor did they seem to desire to.

'Foolish dragons' we thought in the earlier days of Godhood. Later we came to realise they had just given up. 

Sacrifices, energy sources, relics. Any kind of foreign energy that was not inherent to our world was a great clue to start with and therefore, the scopes of everyone in the world were placed on the biblical god back then and his miraculous tool, the Septem Dierum. 

Until the war against the Devils, in which he disappeared leaving no trace. The angels speculated and spread the story that he had secluded himself in heaven after sustaining a horrible injury, but we knew better.

There was no way to know. No faith, no energy, no relics, no mechanism... we knew there was something above, we didn't know how to reach it.

*RUMBLE!*

And yet, right now... when I woke up, my eyes opened, I took my first breath. I could feel it in my very bones, that something had changed forever and that I had stepped not just one, but several steps up the ladder. My scope broadened so vastly that I felt momentarily terrified yet calm.

Calm at how my body and soul had accepted this change, terrified at the greatness of the change and the new scope in front of me. 

I initially arrived in this brand new world, unaware of what to expect, with a feeble divinity, almost no different from a mortal. I felt like a fish in water once again, I could feel, deep in this night, the energy irradiating from the sun on the other side of the world, brimming with energy, giving me its energy as if I was its rightful lady.

I could feel even beyond the broad space and stars, all suns; I could feel way beyond this universe even more suns... I could feel and see so much more.

My perspective had broadened once again, and so had my power. 

And last but not least, like a moth drawn to the flames, I could feel the one that was the Monarch of Suns, way above my grade, lying down, right next to me. 

I had transcended Godhood.

"You are awake".

Amaterasu heard a soft voice even before her eyes opened, the moment her consciousness was restored. Laying on a soft warm puddle, that's how she returned to this world after being reborn. 

She took a deep breath and rose. Amaterasu noticed the greatest change wasn't physical, the goddess looked almost the same as before. The greatest difference was in the soul and mind, she felt like a completely new individual.

However, the same couldn't be said for the Ouroboros Dragon who lay to the side with Ray taking a nap on her lap. She boasted a hybrid draconic form with scales that irradiated power that left even Amaterasu in her current form, frightened. 

This was the Infinity Dragon God, regardless of the world. 

"I no longer feel any constraint in this world" Ophis said, her draconic hands caressing Ray's hair although the force she was putting into that mere action was making Amaterasu wince.

"Neither do I, it feels as though I am the goddess of the sun not only here but anywhere I go," Amaterasu said, looking around to notice both Aqua and Galadriel were still unconscious in the pond.

Still, her gaze couldn't help but settle on the dragoness alongside her clumsy caresses that yet made her wince as even Ray looked uncomfortable in his sleep. 

Without prior arrangement or asking questions, she snatched him away from the dragoness' shocked claws.

"You are doing it wrong!" (Amaterasu)

"..." (Ophis)

"Do it softly with your hands, like this..." The Sun Goddess' hands ran along Ray's black hair like a flowing river, even the goddess was amazed at how silky his hair was, she did so and enjoyed the touch that only he could provide while Ophis pouted but acknowledged she certainly had no knowledge in the area.

Shortly after, the next one to wake up was Galadriel who, to the surprise had no visual change to her aspect despite the tyrannical energy she was released, however, something did change in her and that was her eyes. 

They were star-shaped just like Ray's but silver instead of golden and way deeper. The midnight elf was holding her head continually like she had a bit of migraine until it all settled down and she stared at both Amaterasu and Ophis looking at her. 

"She had the most significant evolution" Ophis mumbled.

"Those eyes of yours, what exactly can they see?" Amaterasu frowned with visual greed.

"It is... difficult to explain... it is not just the past or the future".

"You can see the future?!"

"No, it would be more accurate to say, I can see the flow... it is very interesting~" Galadriel giggled and put her gaze on the young man on Amaterasu's lap while the other two goddesses divagated on her words. 

"You're doing it wrong!" (Galadriel)

"E-Eh?" (Amaterasu)

"..." (Ophis)

"How dare you caress my god so harshly? You do it like this...!" Amaterasu found Ray snatched away from her. Galadriel sighed and placed Ray on her lap like he was her treasure, outraged at how rough and abrasively the Sun Goddess was treating him. 

Then with her right hand, she caressed his chest. With her left, his hair and chin, she paid extra focus to his chin. Amaterasu and Ophis thought she was bluffing until a happy smile popped up on Ray's face, earning a pout from the two who ignored the fact that there were more important discussions at hand, to spoil the sleeping God. 

Last but not least, the Goddess of Water woke up feeling lightheaded yet extremely refreshed. The other three goddesses noticed she was the only one, perhaps due to circumstances and location, who had visual changes to her. 

Aqua's shiny blue hair seemed to be merging with the water in the pond and started slowly but surely to gain a shiny hue as well.

"W-What happened?".

"The sacrifice was successful" Amaterasu mentioned, crossing her arms beneath her bountiful chest, staring at Aqua with raw jealousy, the goddess who was previously a deity she could easily step on, had caught up with her at least in terms of aura. However, the Goddess of Water seemed not to notice this fact.

Aqua nodded and looked down at Ray who seemed to be the happiest and calmest in the hands of three goddesses that spoiled him rotten in his sleep.

"The sacrifice seems to have drained a lot of energy from him. His shiny tattoos have lost a lot of brightness, we don't know how long it may take" Amaterasu started. 

"But I can tell it won't be long with my eyes~ he is recovering very quickly–"

"You are all doing it wrong!" (Aqua)

"H-How?" (Galadriel)

"E-Eh?" (Amaterasu)

"..." (Ophis)

"Huehue~ master is a pervert, you have to do it like this~" With a dubious salivating expression, the pervy goddess snatched her master away from the three confused deities.

She put him on her lap and caressed his face with her left hand, as for her right... she took it down to his crotch and squeezed his balls softly; a pleasurable expression immediately adorned the Sun God's countenance, shocking the blushing trio. 

"Damned perverted brat!" (Amaterasu)

"Baka Ray..." (Ophis)

"T-To think my dear god has such preferences, I shall do my best!" (Galadriel)

 I don't know what I was dreaming about, I remember it being a pleasurable dream. When I woke up, the faces of the most beautiful women a man could ever imagine were in front of me. 

I couldn't help but be captivated. 

"Baka Ray took you long enough," Ophis mumbed kindly.

"My dear god you looked like you were enjoying your sleep~" Galadriel giggled shyly. 

"Damn brat" Amaterasu huffed a hot breath.

"Huehue~" She was just salivating.

looking more exotic than ever with those pitch-black scales that shone like gold once the rays of light phased through, she had this light blush that made her even more desirable.

The same could be said for all of them, I saw, sensed and smelt arousal in the air; and that's when I realised... I looked down and saw two hands stroking and two hands fondling.

And I immediately knew the perpetrator was.
