Chapter 8: Chapter 8: Wild Shots and Quick Defeat
After confirming the purchase, the runes appeared in sequence on a holographic page. Immediately, I went to the Horus rune settings. After all, this is my current priority.
After adjusting a bit, Horus' attributes improved significantly.
With that done, I used two sets of Rune Blades on the Super Armed Girl, as it seemed more appropriate to use them with her, since her abilities attack multiple times, increasing the chance of dealing critical damage. Especially [Wild Shots], which attacks up to eight times, or even the first attack that hits 3 times.
No matter how I look at it, it seems ideal to use on her, although I had doubts if I should use it on Pierret, who also seemed like a good option, considering she attacks multiple times as well and is of the Attack type, just like the Super Armed Girl.
In addition to the two Rune Blade sets, I put two Swift runes on her, even though it wouldn't activate the set effect. What I wanted was for her to deal as much damage as possible.
With preparations complete, I went into battle and clicked on the second map: Mt. Siz.
Don't even ask me why it's named that, because I don't know either...
When I clicked on the map, a grid of options appeared, but only the first one was accessible.

Limbo ________ [Energy 3 | Battle]
[(Wind) Mimick] | [(Fire) Slime] | [(Wind) Mimick]

As the name suggests, Gasma is a type of reddish-pink mist. Very similar to a thick droplet. The other two were yellow chests with brown details, half-open, seeming to have a being living inside the chest, as a pair of white eyes could be seen.
Clicking on battle, the character selection appeared. Water Fairy was set as leader, but I didn't intend to use her anymore for now, so I swapped her for the Magic Lady who increases the critical rate of allied monsters by 19%.
Removing the others, leaving only Horus – since, even if I wanted to, I couldn't remove him – I chose the Super Armed Girl, obviously, and then Pierret.
With everything ready, I clicked on [Start Battle].
{Monsters in the ruins...!? Were they attracted by the power of the ruins?}
As soon as the battle began, a sweet and cheerful voice, sounding a bit surprised, echoed in my mind.
And now I know what type of map I'm on. As she said in my mind, it was a kind of ruin made of stones.
Not far away, I saw the three monsters blocking my way: Two wind Mimicks and a fire Slime.
With my first skill, I easily finished off the Mimick on the right.
"Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang...!"
"..."
How should I put it? The name: Wild Shots fits perfectly with the ability the Super Armed Girl used when it was her turn right after mine, without wasting any time, spraying bullets at the two, killing them without the power to resist.
I saw critical damage rising, as well as defense breaks.
I might not have a human face right now, but if I did, I would be wearing a wide smile.
The second round had the same types of monsters. I used my first skill and, maybe because Wild Shots was on cooldown, she used her first skill, delivering three rapid-fire shots, finishing off the Mimick, leaving only the Fire Slime.
The third turn, which was faster, was Pierret's. When her turn arrived, I saw her attack very quickly with the card in hand, approaching the Fire Slime five times, creating a wind-cutting effect in the shape of a half-moon, but in different positions, forming a kind of cutting wind cube, finishing the Fire Slime.
Facially, we reached the third stage and faced three wind Mimicks.
Even without needing to, I used my third skill on the middle one, finishing it off.
"..."
Well, how should I say it? Wouldn't it be better to improve the speed of the Super Armed Girl?
When her turn came, her Wild Shots skill was used and easily finished off the other two Mimicks.
▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃
I finished the sixth stage very easily without anyone on my team taking damage.

Opening the chest, I got a Fatal Rune (6) ★★ [Normal] with Resistance +2.
I didn't proceed to the next phase, the boss phase. Instead, I clicked return, making my vision darken, and I appeared once again in the isolated space, surrounded by all kinds of monsters.
The reason I chose not to continue is simple. There was a high chance that, the moment I did that, I would be ejected from this dimension as soon as I finished the boss.
Another thing, I had ignored several warnings saying that I had completed this and that, so now was a good time to check what I had completed, starting with [Path of the Summoner].
In the novice bar, I saw: [Obtain Fatal Runes (4/4) – Reward: +50 Crystal] | [Collect].

[Apply Fatal Set Effect (0/1)] – Reward: +150,000 Mana Stone _____ [Go]
▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃▃
Clicking on [Go], I was directed to the Monsters page. Selecting Pierret, I went to runes, Manage, and then I started placing the Fatal runes on her, adding two Energy runes, completing the set that gave +15% HP.

A new mission was generated in sequence.

Clicking on Go, I went to Horus.
I upgraded my rune 4, which gave Critical Damage, now with a 35% increase. Then, I upgraded rune 1, which increased the attack. Although it wasn't in percentage. From +22 -> +70.
Next, I chose rune 6, which was for Accuracy. From +12% -> +30%.
Lastly, rune 3, as it increased my defense. From +22 -> +70.

{Ugh...!} I heard the sweet voice say: {Golems everywhere! What is the secret behind the ruins? Let's move forward without giving up!}
Her words didn't affect me. As I had imagined, this seemed to follow a script.
In [Support for New Summoner] on the [Path of the Summoner], there was also a reward waiting for me. 200 Crystals for reaching level 5. Collecting it, seeing that there was nothing else for me here, I closed all the pages.
In [
Most of them were Mana Stones and some Crystals. I also got 5 [Unknown Scroll (1-3★)].
Seeing there was nothing left, I went into battle.
The boss phase of level 7 was described as: [Betrayal].
Upon entering, I saw a 3-star Fire Golem.
{Argh, one Golem after another. It looks like an army!}
'Don't exaggerate, girl.' I thought, attacking one of the Fire Golems, with three of them appearing at the start, and the Super Armed Girl finished off the other two.
They didn't even stand a chance...
The second turn ended without anyone being attacked by the Fire Golems, easily passing through it, heading to the boss hall.
{Wow, this Golem is huge! Be careful!}
At about 10 meters tall, made of red magma stone, with red circulations like an energy source, they ran across a good part of the Golem's stone body. The head was triangular, with the top straight and pointed downward, darker, but with two vibrant red eyes.
Its arms were massive, and even though I was confident, I felt intimidated and fearful of being hit. I quickly used the defense-boosting skill that also reduced the chance of them receiving Critical Hits.
The wings opened above us as special effects covered us, and soon we were strengthened.
"..."
Okay, maybe I was being too cautious. This Super Armed Girl is awesome!
Showering the Fire Golem with bullets, she reduced its health by 75%.
On Pierret's turn, she used her second skill, dealing some damage, but it couldn't compare to the Super Armed Girl.
The Magic Lady attacked with a kind of straight-line wind tornado, taking about 5% of the Golem's HP, and was counterattacked, losing almost no HP.
And, unlike what I thought, instead of attacking with its hands, the Golem just threw a small stone.
'Isn't that a bit lame?'
Well, I'm not complaining... I just felt a small sense of broken expectation now.
On my turn, I used my third skill, finishing off the Fire Golem.
'In the end, it was just size...' I thought: 'As my dad always says: The bigger they are, the harder they fall.'
I'm not sure if that applies here, but I remembered it as I easily finished off this massive Fire Golem.

I opened the chest that appeared afterward and received a Fatal Rune (6) ★★ [Magic] with HP +70 (Speed +1): [Accuracy +3%].
Compared to the runes I received after completing the stages, this one wasn't too bad, but it still doesn't compare to the legendary 6-star runes...
{That was terrifying! I never imagined there would be such a huge Golem. I never want to see a Golem again in my life! What are they protecting? I don't see anything... Hey, this part is destroyed. I don't think you're the first to step on this ground. This place was recently destroyed. Did someone else loot this place? More bandits?}
Blah, blah, blah...
She kept talking in a scripted manner for a long time in my mind. I just wanted to press a mute button for her, but I couldn't.
Only when she finished talking did a holographic page appear.

I started to feel dizzy. I knew what was going to happen, sighing, I felt my vision blur, and soon I couldn't see anymore, losing consciousness.
Some time later...
I woke up in my bed. I sighed softly as I sat on the edge of the bed, feeling a light itch in my ear.
