Chapter 14: The Seventh Day
Six days of battle.
Six days of relentless struggle, clashing against Prime Whitebeard in my mindscape.
I had lost in every way imaginable. My ribs had been shattered by the force of his Gura Gura no Mi. My sword had been broken in his grip. His bisento had cleaved through my defenses more times than I could count.
Each time I fell, the system would reset me to the beginning, my body healed but my spirit weighed down my defeat. But I didn't quit. With every loss, I grew sharper, faster, stronger. Takemikazuchi stood as my anchor, guiding me through each failure and pushing me beyond my limits.
Now, on the seventh day, I stood across from Whitebeard once again.
"Sill alive, huh?" he said, a grin splitting his face. The air around him trembled with raw power, the vibrations of his Gura Gura no Mi threatening to tear apart the very fabric of my mindscape.
I adjusted my grip on Takemikazuchi. The blade hummed in my hand, its lightning crackling with renewed vigor. "Alive and ready to win."
Whitebeard let out a booming laugh, his bisento slamming into the ground with a force that sent shock-waves rippling outward. "Then come, boy! Show me what you've learned!"
I charged forward, Takemikazuchi flashing with electric fury. Our weapons collided, the impact sending a shock-wave that tore through the storm-laden sky of my mindscape. Lightning illuminated the battlefield as Whitebeard's immense strength met my sharpened skill.
He swung his bisento with brutal precision, each strike a tidal wave of destruction. I dodged and countered, my blade moving faster than ever before. For the first time, I wasn't just surviving—I was keeping up.
"You've improved," he admitted, his grin widening. "But it's not enough!"
He roared, his fist glowing with the power of his Gura Gura no Mi. The air around me fractured as he sent a quake hurtling in my direction.
I planted my feet, Takemikazuchi's lightning surging into the ground. "Not this time!"
With a shout, I swung my blade, the storm around me erupting in a surge of energy. The quake shattered against my defense, but the force still sent me skidding backwards.
"Focus, Shin," Takemikazuchi's voice rumbled in my mind. "You're holding back. Unleash everything."
I took a deep breath, my hand tightening around my Zanpakutō. It was time.
"Strike down the heavens, Takemikazuchi!"
The moment the words left my lips, the storm around us intensified. Lightning cracked across the skies, illuminating the battlefield in brilliant flashes of white and blue. My sword transformed, its blade elongating and sparking with raw energy. Thunder roared as the power of Takemikazuchi surged through me.
Whitebeard's grin widened. "Finally!"
I charged, the air around me humming with electricity. Our weapons clash again, and this time, the force of the impact shattered the ground beneath us. Sparks flew as I pushed him back, My Shikai augmenting my strength, speed, and precision.
He retaliated with a quake-powered strike, the air itself seeming to shatter around his bisento. But I was ready. Lightning coursed through my blade as I parried his attack, the collision creating a deafening explosion.
"You're improving, boy!" he boomed.
"Not enough to just improve," I growled, unleashing a flurry of strikes. Each swing of my sword was faster, sharper, and more devastating than the last. The storm around us seemed to respond to my movements, the lightning dancing in tandem with my attacks.
For hours, we traded blows, the ground beneath us reduced to rubble, the air thick with the charge of our battle. I could feel myself growing strong with every clash, my resolve unshakable.
Then came the moment of truth. Whitebeard raised his bisento, the tremors of his Gura Gura no Mi building into a cataclysmic force. "Let's see if you can handle this!"
I planted my feet, gripping Takemikazuchi with both hands. The storm above coalesced, lightning converging onto my blade as I prepared to meet his attack head-on.
He swung his weapon down, the earth-shattering force barreling toward me. I roared, bringing my sword up in a thunderous arc to meet it.
The clash was apocalyptic. The ground shattered beneath us, the storm above exploding in a cascade of lightning and thunder. For a moment, everything seemed to freeze—Whitebeard's bisento locked against my blade, the force of our attacks suspended in the air.
And then, with a deafening crack, the energy exploded outward, sending us both flying.
I hit the ground hard, my body aching, but I forced myself to stand. Across from me, Whitebeard rose slowly, his bisento resting on his shoulder.
You've got heart, boy," he said, his voice laced with respect. "But this is where it ends."
He charged, and I met him head on. Our final clash was a blur of steel, lightning, and raw power. I poured everything I had into that last strike, my blade cutting through the storm as it met his bisento.
Whitebeard staggered, a deep slash across his chest. He let out a booming laugh, his weapons falling of the ground as he collapsed to one knee.
"You've done it," he rumbled, looking up at me with a grin. "You've surpassed me."
I stood there, breathing heavily, Takemikazuchi still crackling with electricity in my hand. The storm above began to fade, the skies clearing as the battle came to an end.
Whitebeard's figure began to dissolve, his body breaking apart like mist. "Keep growing, boy," he said as he disappeared. "The world will tremble before you strength."
