Chapter 16: Chapter 16, Wait I can do that ?

Hearing my words the eyes of Guinevere seem to dilatate from the info drop.

[You boar-like, narcoleptic nimrod, you could have cause permanent brain damage when you use my rune like a sledgehammer instead of like a dagger like I do.]

I turn my face to the raging demi-god, "it's not a 'could have' situation when its already happened, she can now see you all, and you're not presenting a good first impression to her." that causes the Demi-god to pause then look at her before turning back to me still raging.

[Isn't that just a uncommon trait in this world being able to see the spiritual forms of us?, it's not the worst thing but you could have crippled her mentally you dunce.]

"yeah but the thing is, it's a from birth kind of situation not something you can just give someone even by accident."

He just gives me the most blandest of looks as if he's done with my whole existence.

[You have the Blueprints and resources of a the Lands between in your soul, fixing some astigmatism is low on your total power threshold.]

I just shrug and I watch as he goes to his sister who seems to be sharpening her blade with a whetstone and he simply starts fuming in the corner, it's kind of cute since he's so smol in comparison to the tall Malenia.

"don't mind him he's just a perfectionist, how's the new sight treating you ?"

Seemingly catching her bearings from being addressed "who are they and why can I see them."

I go back to the altar and stand behind it like I'm about to preach the gospel, "None of your concern and because it's a perk from me breaking the millennium rods connection."

Hearing the job was done and she's free she regains all her energy and seems like a hyperactive teenager even though she's obviously goth, meh she's happy, it's not like people are watching her break her Goth façade.

"Well Guinevere, your free so for the price of the spiritual lobotomy I'll take your crystal map card now, yeah steep price I know at least it's cheaper than American healthcare."

at the mention of the price she flinches, I'm confused at why she flinches so I ask why.

"Marik and my brothers puppet like body is still in the tournament, I need to pay him back and retrieve my brother."

I smile before looking up, "it might be a tad bit late for the latter."

Following my line of sight She sees though a hole in the ceiling of the defunct church the End part of the tail of a gigantic Red serpent flying in and out of the clouds, her reaction is to just gape at the size of the serpent.

"That would be Slifer the Sky dragon, the Reason your brother needed to be a puppet is because in his infinite stupidity, Marik gave a God card to your puppet brother and used him against the Pharaoh who can't lose a duel due to a magical Cheater box that manifests required cards out of thin air."

At the mention of a God card most of the Demi-gods turn from what they were doing since it seems a more important subject than just milling about, when they see where we're looking they see Slifer.

"That's Slifer and when it's played, its huge!"

My reaction when I saw it in the anime was the same but since I've seen it before so I'm not as effected.

Just since I want to know his reaction I look at Rykard and yup he's drooling. Note to future self, keep Mesmer and Rykard away from each other when possible.

The other demigods react as well but in their own way; Radahn, Malenia and Mohg seem to want to fight it. Mesmer, Miquella and Melina are mesmerised. lastly Morgott, Ranni and Godwin are unimpressed, when he regains his scruples.

[Why did you call that serpent a god, A god is meant to lead others but the Dragon above us is just a massive amount of spiritual energy but without a seed of reason within it, instinct maybe but not reason.]

I smirk at Miquella, "well its because the Egyptian god cards were made and used as weapons and weapons don't need to have any reservations when their slaughtering armies and innocents alike."

That catches the attention of the more war savvy members of the Demi-gods but Radahn grumbles a simplification of the god card as the other gods nod at, 'a spiritual Siege engine'

Guinevere gets a hold of herself and asks, "what do you mean innocents?"

I tilt my head in amusement. "Well, their called the 'Egyptian' God cards for a reason, their like the second most bloody ancient society besides the Aztecs, also I remember that its a fact that the Millennium items were forged in the blood of an entire slaughtered Egyptian village, man, woman, child or elder with no distinction."

The comments of butchery of innocents make some of the Demi-gods turn away from the subject but when I say it, I make sure to catch Messmer's reaction and expectant of the wanton butcher he's passive to it.

"That's mainly why half of the Millennium items are literally cursed to make their user go crazy, guess which side of that coin Marik's Millennium Rod lands."

Guinevere and Miquella say the same answer at the same time.

"Cursed?"[Cursed?]

"Yup, to be honest the power of mind control is something that is easily exploited so its prime ground for the abuse that its prone to being latch onto by desert ticks, but the curse isn't as flattering as the desert tick holding the rod. causing the desert tick to become a Giant Dick."

She starts chuckling at the joke mainly because it insults her captor.

"Well anyway, we should get going to your brother, by the time we get there the duel should be over and Marik should leave him alone." I come from around the altar and walk towards the entrance.

Catching up with me we reconvene at the church door which is just a slab of rotten wood held up by rusty hinges, Not wanting to get tetanus or Mold from the door I just nudge the door out of the way using my boot.

"What do you mean Marik should leave my brother alone?"

"Remember I told you he's playing against someone who can cheat without even trying, also the guy is meant to have the God Cards due to something pedantic things like fate or destiny, but that just makes it funny when the god cards can just be grabbed and run away physically since their a bit lighter than the old Egyptian stone tablet versions."

I can see the worry she has for her brother but my tangent of the god cards feasibility of being stealing causes her to just be confused just as I planned.

"So, when we get to my brother how are you going to fix him, his mind is gone Marik made sure of that for his puppet plan."

I just smile and wave my hand, "bah that's nothing, he probably just needs a soul reboot, funnily enough I've done it before for someone way stronger spiritual wise than your brother."

"Wait you can just do that?"

"Well, I don't know about those with the other Millennium items or with strong spirituality, but I feel its unique to me, now that I think about it maybe two of the items could do it."

As we walk through the alleys towards the epicentre of the big red snake in the sky, she asks.

"If you can't fix him what of those items could fix him?"

the question causes the spirits of the demi-gods to perk up since it's about important stuff.

"Well since the Demi-gods don't know about them all I could just give an answer, but I might as well list them off, now each of the items have really powerful magics attached to them but the items usually give a clue to the effects the Millennium item can do."

I use my fingers to list them off by curling in them one by one.

"let's start with the ones not cursed by the innocent villagers.

the First one is the Millennium Scale which is one of the pair I said could possibly cure your brother, but I feel it would require something of equal value to compensate since it's a pair of scales, it also works as a universal determination machine which can value anything.

Second of the good ones is the Millennium Necklace or Tiara, its power is connected to the mind and allows the wearer to perceive the past or future using the Third eye which is the centre focus of the Item, it also protects its wearer from the effects of the other Millennium items.

The last of the not cursed Millennium items is the Millennium Key, this is essentially a universal key to anything, it can lock or unlock anything even minds, souls or simply doors, but it also can mess with concepts so you could even lock yourself out of death's embrace like how the current user is using it for, By the way the same guy has both the key and the Scale and is from ancient Egypt."

she cuts in here. "wouldn't that make him like 5000 years old or something"

"Yup, now let's get to the cursed shit.

First is the Rod, a rod is used to direct or punish so its magic is mind control and spiritual pain attacks, simple but it's cursed to make its user more power-hungry the more they use it.

Second is the Millennium Eye, x-ray hacks and mind reading but it's cursed to make you become obsessed with your hearts most ardent desire to the detriment of everything else.

The last fully cursed Millennium Item is the Millennium Ring, it essentially a magical compass that points to whatever you want and can be used to contain souls like the superstitions with demons and salt circles, the only problem is that the ring is already cursed containing a demon that likes to possess its user, it also makes it so the user can't get rid of the ring."

[these items all seem very powerful, but you only said 6 of them and didn't mention this Cheater box you talk about]

"The Last Millennium item is the most unorthodox of the set, the Millennium Puzzle acts as the ultimate puzzle that once completed allows the user to become the master of all games and puzzles, giving the right to control the Egyptian god cards with no downside while also making it so an Egyptian Pharaoh can possess you when you duel too cheat with magic that counts as reality bending.

It's not cursed like the others but it has a downside that was built into the design of the Millennium Puzzle making it act like a body snatcher device for the Pharaoh so he can take control when ever he wants."

my words kind of cause some of the demi-gods to react in their own ways but Rykard ever the analyst asks.

[how strong are we talking.]

"Maybe Radahn ignoring the g forces of re-entering orbit level of magic power, it's not very clear since the pharaoh also has amnesia from being trapped in the millennium puzzle for so many years with no stimulus so he can't use all his magic."

Guinevere pipes up, "You talk about magic as if you're really familiar with it, could someone like me learn it as well?"

her words catch me for a loop as I start questioning myself, but I respond quickly, "Well I'm not sure about here but for these lot, Magic comes second nature, but I think the only one which has any idea what the spiritual magic in play here could do would be either Miquella or maybe Mohg. but their understanding of the subject would be middling at best."

She responds with a tilt of her head, "Why would it just be middling, they seem very competent if their getting your recommendation about it."

I sigh and stop in my tracks. "it's because, they have no similar frame of reference its like comparing a Painting frame to the frame present on a yugioh card, yes their both frames by the definition but the concepts behind them is different, ones a boarder for segregation of information, the other is to protect a painting from damage."

To express my annoyance at the subject I spread my hands out in exasperation.

"Also even I don't know the full span of their magic here and how it works with the powers within me, its like traveling in a cave with a candle, I have no idea if what I'm doing will work or not, hell with how bullshit my spiritual situation I could do something impossible like making Spirit housed cards that shouldn't exist at will since Miquella is essentially doing that for my cards."

My words shock her but her eyes and most of the Demi-gods aren't on me for my outburst but on my right hand, looking there I see a small glow that fades to reveal a White Yugioh card.
