Emperor Phoenix World

Chapter 21 Sun and Moon Mountain Range 5

Yilin heeded Ye Mo’s request and refrained from inquiring further. She simply stood beside Ye Mo, gazing quietly at the river.

“Give me some space,” Ye Mo stated calmly as he observed the river.

In response, Yilin picked up Ye Mo, preparing to move away from the river.

“You’re here,” Ye Yan and his group arrived just as Yilin was holding Ye Mo, ready to leave.

“Let’s go,” Ye Mo said, ignoring the group of people, his gaze fixed on Yilin.

Yilin and Ye Mo had been together for over two years, and this was the first time she had seen Ye Mo so determined. She surmised that there was something in the river they couldn’t handle, and the urgency in Ye Mo’s voice confirmed it.

Without hesitation, Yilin and Yiluo understood the situation and decided to follow Yemo’s guidance, ignoring the others.

However, Ye Yan was determined not to let them leave so easily. He stood in front of Yilin and said, “Fifth sister, the Sun and Moon Mountains are treacherous. Since we’re all here, why not join us?”

Yemo, with her keen senses, estimated that the creature in the water was at least a level six monster. She couldn’t help but curse inwardly. Level six monsters had the strength of high-level magicians. Despite her own magical prowess, her body couldn’t store power like a magician’s, and she had to draw power from the Phoenix Ring each time she fought. If only Yilin and Yiluo were present, she could manage, but with so many people, especially Ye Yan and Ye Tian, there was no obligation on her part.

Yemo whispered something in Yilin’s ear and exchanged a knowing look with Yiluo.

“Yemo, are you afraid to travel with us?” Ye Yan continued to press the issue, oblivious to the situation.

Ye Mo sneered, glared at Ye Yan, and retorted, “Traveling with you is the most perilous option. If you want to die, go ahead, but I have no intention of joining you.”

With that, Yilin sprang into action, taking Ye Mo with her, and Yiluo followed suit, leaving the scene.

Yan and his companions watched as they disappeared into the woods. Ye Yan was incensed and vented his frustration by kicking a stone into the water.

The stone splashed into the river, unsettling the calm surface. Suddenly, a massive creature emerged from the water, its lantern-sized, blood-red eyes glaring coldly at Ye Yan’s group.

“Demon…monster!” Prince Bailiqing initially rejoiced upon seeing the creature but quickly sensed that something was amiss. This level six monster emanated immense power, suggesting that it was about to advance to level seven.

“Your Highness, retreat! It’s a level six Lightning Serpent!” The two elders accompanying Prince Bailiqing were alarmed. Among magical elements, dark magic was the most potent, followed by lightning. Encountering a level six monster at this stage was manageable, but dealing with a level six lightning creature was a different matter.

Recalling Ye Yan’s action, one of the elders cast a furious glance at him and scolded, “The Lightning Serpent is advancing. If you hadn’t disturbed it by tossing that stone, we wouldn’t be in this perilous situation. The kid was right, being with you is indeed the most dangerous.”
