Encountering You is My Honor

Chapter 17: Chapter 17 No Courtesy At All_1

Wrong, it was unbearable to hear.

Finally, the front door was opened again, and Luo Nanyang returned, carrying a large amount of vegetables.

The first thing he said when he walked in was, "Xiaoli, you really found a man willing to marry you. For the first time, your father thinks you've got backbone. Good for you!"

Luo Qingli felt like storming out. She couldn't take it anymore.

Are these her biological parents? She definitely needed to get a DNA test.

Couldn't they say something nice about her, to make a good impression on her uncle?

Gu Yuying stood up, behaving elegantly and courteously, and introduced himself to Luo Nanyang, "Nice to meet you, I'm Gu Yuying, your daughter's husband. I'm sorry to have married Xiaoli in private without your permission."

Luo Nanyang scrutinized Gu Yuying from head to toe, nodding to himself. Being in business, he was quite shrewd. In addition, being over forty and training martial arts for years, his eyes were sharp.

Not to say his judgement of people is one hundred percent accurate. However, he could tell Gu Yuying was a mature and stable man.

When it came to entrusting his daughter's lifelong happiness, there was absolutely no problem.

However, how could such an exceptional man be wangled by his quirky daughter?

Indeed, fortune favors fools.

Soon after, he chuckled and spoke without a hint of resentment.

"No problem, I agreed to Xiaoli's marriage. I was the one who gave her the household registration. Why are you standing? Sit, sit down. Wait a bit, I'm going to cook."

"No need to bother, Xiaoli and I just had lunch." He really wasn't hungry, and he didn't want to trouble them further.

"That's fine, Yuying. Your father always cooks every day. Don't mind him. Even if you're not eating, Xiaoli and I will still eat."

Zhao Wanru spoke without a hint of formality, treating Gu Yuying as family.

With her saying this, Gu Yuying had no choice but to go along.

After all, guests should follow the host's lead.

The living room did not fall silent, with Zhao Wanru asking Gu Yuying various questions.

The latter did not show any impatience and responded politely.

Eventually, when Zhao Wanru had learned what she needed to, she said to Luo Qingli, "Xiaoli, why don't you take Yuying for a stroll around the neighborhood, get to know the surroundings. Don't stay cooped up inside the house."

"Uncle, let's go for a stroll downstairs! My father bought a lot of groceries today, so dinner will probably be done later."

Luo Qingli stood up without hesitation. Going out was what she wanted, as she barely got a word in earlier.

She was afraid that her aloof husband would lose his temper if asked further. However, he remained composed with a polite smile on his face.

Yet, why did he always have a cold expression when facing her?

Why is that? She needed an explanation!

After they both went out, Zhao Wanru stealthily peeked out the door. When she made sure they wouldn't return, she went to the kitchen.

Kneeling next to Luo Nanyang, she picked out vegetables while saying, "Husband, what do you think of our son-in-law?"

"From what I can tell, he comes from a good background. Moreover, he's mature, shrewd, and respectful towards elders. He's good."

While Luo Nanyang responded to Zhao Wanru's question, his hands continued to prep the vegetables.

"I think he's good too. However, what matters most is he treats our daughter well. He could be the best catch, but if he doesn't treat her well, it won't matter."

Even though their daughter doesn't have many admirable qualities and has a wild temper, she should never be neglected.
