Chapter 337: Chapter 343: Amanda Is Missing
To be honest, when Natalie learned at a gathering with Britney that her friend was planning to visit Martin on set, she was utterly shocked.
Especially when she saw the way Britney's eyes sparkled and her face lit up while mentioning Martin, she immediately sensed that their relationship was far from ordinary.
So, she asked directly—after all, she and Britney shared everything.
"Yes, I'm Martin's girlfriend," Britney answered without hesitation, catching Natalie completely off guard.
"You do know that Scarlett Johansson is also Martin's girlfriend, right?" she couldn't help but ask.
However, her friend's response left her even more stunned.
"Of course I know. And it's not just Scarlett—there's also Lindsay, Jessica, Dolores, Miranda, Paris, Annie..."
Britney rattled off a long list of names, some familiar and some not, nearly making Natalie collapse from shock—Martin had that many women?!
He—just how old is he?!
She had originally thought her only rival was Scarlett, but now she realized she was just one tiny fish in Martin's vast ocean.
Yet, what surprised her even more was that Britney seemed completely unbothered by it.
"Don't you think this is too much? Martin is juggling so many women at once!"
"Too much? Not at all. Martin is outstanding, incredible—of course, he should have many women," Britney replied, as if it were an honor.
Before Natalie could question further, Britney added, "Besides, you know what? Martin is really amazing in that department—one woman alone isn't enough for him!"
"I know!" Natalie mentally responded.
Then, feeling a little unwilling to back down, she said, "I—I'm coming with you to visit Martin!"
Britney gave her a surprised look before suddenly realizing, "Ohh, no wonder I felt something different about you. Nat, you've fallen for Martin too, haven't you?"
It was the intuition of a love-struck woman.
Only, Natalie had been "watered" by Martin fewer times, so her connection wasn't as strong.
Being exposed like that, Natalie felt embarrassed—but not as much as she had expected, which puzzled her.
Even stranger was that she seemed to be gradually accepting the fact that Martin had multiple "girlfriends"!!!
Her worldview was shattering into pieces!
And when she finally saw Martin again, she felt a deep attachment, admiration, and devotion welling up from within her—completely forgetting any concern about the "other girlfriends."
...…
That night, Martin took Natalie and Britney to his estate in Beverly Hills.
Britney had been there before and had already been blown away.
For Natalie, it was her first visit—and, as expected, she was utterly stunned. But what shocked her even more were the two maids at the estate—
They were even more beautiful than her!!!
Absolutely ridiculous!!!
...…
That same night—
Amanda Seyfried returned to her hotel, packing up her things to check out the next morning. She had decided to move in with Lindsay.
In the dead of night—
A dark figure once again climbed in through the balcony.
The simple lock on the balcony door was no obstacle for him.
Naturally, the figure was Charles—not that this needed saying.
Having eavesdropped on the girls' conversation earlier that day, Charles had learned that Amanda was planning to leave.
And so—
He finally made up his mind.
Charles slowly approached Amanda's bed, staring at her delicate sleeping face, murmuring,
"You're mine. You're mine. You can't leave. Why are you leaving?"
As he spoke, he slowly raised his right hand—
...…
The next day.
"Amanda! Amanda! Where is she?"
"Damn it! Where is she? Her scene is about to start!"
The assistant director was searching everywhere, but no one seemed to have seen Amanda.
"Call her! If she doesn't want to act anymore, she can just quit!" the assistant director snapped at an assistant.
Lindsay Lohan frowned and muttered, "Could something have happened to her?"
Rachel McAdams, on the other hand, looked somewhat gloating.
She figured Amanda must have been too excited last night, got drunk, and now—
Well, serves her right!
"She's not picking up," the assistant reported.
"Keep calling!"
The assistant director, sweating anxiously, turned to the others. "Does anyone know where Amanda is staying?"
Lindsay raised her hand. "I do. I'll take people to find her."
She brought along two female bodyguards, while Rachel McAdams and two other crew members also followed.
At the hotel, they showed their work IDs to the receptionist, who led them to Amanda's room.
Knock, knock, knock!
"Miss Amanda!"
The staff knocked and called out—
No response.
They knocked again, called out louder—
Still no response.
"Open the door! My friend might be in danger!" Lindsay demanded.
"But I don't have the authority to do that," the hotel staff hesitated.
"Should we call the police?"
Rachel McAdams felt sure Amanda was just passed out drunk inside, but she also had the urge to stir up some drama.
Lindsay had considered calling the police—but in Hollywood, unless someone had been missing for 48 hours, the police wouldn't even file a report.
"That won't help!"
She whispered to herself, then turned to the hotel staff. "Open the door now! If anything happens to my friend, you'll be responsible!"
The staff member was young, likely a high schooler working part-time. Scared by Lindsay's threat, he shakily pulled out a key and unlocked the door.
"Huh?"
The scene inside left everyone stunned.
The room was spotless—like it had been freshly cleaned. The bed was neatly made, with no sign of anyone having slept in it.
They searched the room—her luggage was gone, her toiletries missing.
"Where is she?" Lindsay voiced everyone's confusion.
Even Rachel McAdams was stunned—could something really have happened?
She was just a young girl herself—she might have her little schemes, but she wasn't malicious. Now, she was actually worried.
"All her personal belongings are gone," one of the bodyguards reported after searching the room.
"There are signs of forced entry on the balcony lock," another bodyguard added—shocking everyone.
Lindsay gasped, "Damn it! Amanda told me two days ago that she kept feeling like someone was watching her in her sleep. So it was real! She… she was kidnapped?!"
Rachel McAdams shivered—Could Amanda be… dead?
For all its glitz and glamour, Hollywood was rife with crime. Especially with so many young, beautiful people around, impulsive crimes weren't uncommon.
Lindsay clutched her head in frustration. "It's my fault! I should've made Amanda move in with me that night!"
One of the crew members immediately called the assistant director.
And before long, word of Amanda's disappearance spread throughout the entire production.
