Chapter 70: 10 Minutes! Hana’s Race Against Time!
10 minutes.
The thought that continued racing through Hana's head was only that number. 600 seconds. ⅙ of an hour. Just 10 full minutes. This battle would either end in Hakim standing victorious and Hana's bones snapping for the final time, or the better outcome.
As Hana looked at Hakim through the massive fires that the battlefield held, she let out a grim smile. "I'll be sure to kill you in just 10 MINUTES!" she exclaimed, charging up to him. As Hakim swung his scythe directly at Hana's face, she blocked it with her hands, causing blood to stream out her hands. But then everything went temporarily silent. As Hakim looked at Hana in shock, he laughed hysterically. "You idiot! You've already lost this battle, what are you going to d-"
Suddenly, Hana pulled the scythe by its two blades up, slamming Hakim into the ground like he had done to her earlier. Shaking the blood off of her hands, she let out a smile as she continued to walk up to her ex-husband. "Blood or death dosen't scare me. But I'll make sure I kill you before I die!" she exclaimed. Digging the scythe into the ground, Hakim created a current of electricity throughout the blades that caused them to change color while being extremely dangerous. "If you touch this, you're dead! Your fire can't hold up against the Lightning Scythe!" he exclaimed, swinging it once again at her. Now that Hana was unable to touch the blade altogether, she had to arrive at the parent body (the wielder) to exchange blows. Using her fast reflexes to charge across the battlefield, she threw a punch of fire at Hakim, who barely dodged it to counter her attack. Pulling the scythe from the rocks, he forced Hana to retreat as the lightning spread all across the surface. Now, the fire was all across the battlefield, which made it unable for Hakim to have any space, except for a small circle that stood in the epicenter of the headquarters. Despite Hana's massive injuries, she could walk across the fire due to the current structure of her bones.
Hana glanced at the timer. "5 minutes. Time to go faster!" As Hana continued to zoom across the battlefield at top speed, Hakim, who was barely able to keep up with her, dodged the first blow Hana had executed with luck. "Shit! I can't waste any time with this guy! I just need one hit, ONE! After that, this battle is in the bag for me! Despite Hana's repetitive punches, she just couldn't get a hit on Hakim due to his excessive dodging skills! Then, she nodded her head.
It was time to turn the battle up a notch.
As Hakim coughed up blood in the center of the fire, Hana enhanced the speed of her punches, creating a net of fire on the top of the battlefield. "You have nowhere to move now, Hakim!" she exclaimed, using her fire like the webs of a spider's net. Suddenly, Hakim, throwing his scythe at an unaffected surface, picked up a massive rock in front of Hana. Spinning it around, he infected it with a mix of lightning and pure power. "Try to dodge this, idiot!" Hakim exclaimed, proceeding to swing the object around. As it finally got close enough to Hana's face, a massive explosion occured due to the impact of both of the collisions. Hakim scoffed. "Did that kill her!?" he thought to himself, looking around the battlefield. Suddenly, Hana appeared abruptly out of the smoke, canceling out the massive hit Hakim had attempted to cast on her with one of her own. Hana, continuing to soar across her webs, smiled once again. "This is the end for you, Hakim." she thought to herself. Using the roof of the cave to boost herself off, she soared at Hakim at rapid speeds, attempting to give him a massive headshot.
As the fire continued to bloom through Hana's body, she could hear the bone substitutes wearing off inside her body with just fifty seconds left to go. Hana screamed, igniting more fire with her remaining power. "FIRE HURRICANE!" she exclaimed, collapsing the entire base of Aybara. As Hakim screamed due to the massive pain he was currently experiencing, he had given up on everything. "Zara… My former family. Thank you for everything…" he thought to himself. Reflecting on the moments that Hana and Hakim had in the prime of their relationship brought a minor smile to his face, despite his current circumstances. As the final thought he had finished in an instant, the mountains of Umue experienced a massive shake from the bottom up.
The cave was buried completely.
As Hana emerged from the massive rocks holding her down, she checked her timer again. 10 seconds. 10 seconds before all her bones were completely gone. Crawling toward the exit of the cave with the little strength she had, she looked back at the corpse of Hakim, who was now dead. "Fuck you." were the only two words that could process through her mind right now. As soon as she exited the cave, she fell onto the floor with one second left, knowing that this wouldn't be the end, but she would be unable to move for a long time.
"Beep!" The timer had finished.
All Hana could do now was succumb to the high pitched sound that invaded her mind, followed by her eyes closing rapidly. "I-I did it… I beat Hakim Faim…."
Hana fainted. The first phase of Aybara's collapse had finally ended, resulting in the actual death of Hakim Faimasa. Now, only Ikama Black stood as an admin to his soldiers and family in Aybara - would he be able to get away from the hands of Team ENTITY, or would Kevin and his friends share the same luck like they did back in Diamond City?
