Laxus sneered. "You're not bad yourself. Just now was only a test; let's see how long you can keep that cool composure."

"Fine by me," Su Yan replied calmly. "Unleash your real power soon. If this drags on, you'll lose your edge."

Having inherited Kaido's abilities, Su Yan could fight for days. In Fairy Tail, most wizards couldn't sustain many high-powered spells before running out of magic and stamina. A battle of attrition would favor him.

Nearby, Natsu was startled to realize that Laxus's fierce assault just now was only a probing attack.

"You're right," Laxus said. "I'll show you the power I've honed these past years—to defeat you!"

A wild surge of magic crackled around him. His teeth elongated, some turning sharp like an animal's, and his forearms sprouted something akin to dragon scales.

Natsu felt a familiar energy emanating from Laxus. "You… you use Dragon Slayer magic too?!"

Laxus smirked. "The old man kept it hidden, but there's no point hiding anymore. I have Lightning Dragon Slayer Magic. If I hadn't underestimated you six years ago, Su Yan, I wouldn't have lost back then. I won't repeat that mistake. I am Fairy Tail's strongest wizard!"

"Lightning Dragon Slayer? You really think that'll help you win?" Su Yan asked flatly, completely unruffled. He had known about Laxus's dragon-slaying magic for a while.

"Your attitude won't last," Laxus growled.

"Whirr—!!"

Lightning flickered across Laxus's body, and he charged Su Yan in a blur.

"Lightning Dragon's Crushing Fist!!"

Golden lightning coiled around Laxus's arm as he swung at Su Yan.

"Hmph."

Su Yan's arm darkened with Armament-like Haki, while a swirl of purple Conqueror's Haki sparked around his fist.

He fused these energies, generating a fierce aura that shimmered like purple lightning.

"Blood Fist!!"

Just before their fists met, a shockwave flared out. Natsu, watching, gasped. "Th-They're not even touching?"

Laxus knew this was some advanced property of Su Yan's power. Between them, black-red sparks crackled in midair.

"Ghh—!" Laxus felt his entire body recoil from the invisible impact, forced backward. Even channeling his Thunder Dragon Slayer magic, he couldn't match Su Yan's monstrous physical force.

"Damn monster…" Laxus admitted to himself. Su Yan's raw power was at a freakish level.

Planting his feet, Laxus inhaled deeply, gathering crackling electric magic in his mouth.

Su Yan formed a giant Haki palm from swirling purple energy.

"Lightning Dragon's Roar!!"

A violent torrent of lightning burst from Laxus's mouth, aimed straight for Su Yan.

Su Yan thrust his giant Haki palm forward.

Boom, boom, boom!

The thunderous roar collided with the Haki palm, shattering the cathedral floor. When the two attacks exploded, Laxus seized the opening, transforming into a flash of golden lightning above Su Yan.

"Lightning Dragon's Breakdown Fist!!"

He clasped both fists overhead and slammed them down on Su Yan's position. The ground quaked under the blow.

Natsu watched, trembling with excitement. The power these two unleashed was staggering, far beyond anything he'd imagined.

"Om—!!"

At close range, Su Yan unleashed another wave of Conqueror's Haki, blasting Laxus backward before he could follow up. He tumbled through the air, bracing himself and firing a volley of lightning spheres in retaliation.

"Lightning Bullet!!"

Su Yan launched several swords formed by his Haki, intercepting the lightning orbs. They all detonated midair in thunderous flashes.

As the smoke cleared, Su Yan kicked off the floor with explosive force, hurtling toward Laxus again.

"Om!"

He tore through the lingering smoke, appearing in front of Laxus. Raising his foot, he lashed out with a powerful kick.

"Tch—!" Laxus crossed his arms to block, but Su Yan's strike still smashed through his guard, sending him crashing to the cathedral floor with a thunderous roar.

"Aaagh!!"

Laxus slammed into the rubble below, dust billowing around him. Su Yan landed nearby, ready for more.
