Chapter 117: The End of the Civil War
Su Yan hovered in the sky in his dragon form, then swooped down toward Laxus. With one swift motion, his massive draconic claws reached out for him.
Laxus, seeing the enormous talons closing in, tried desperately to escape, shifting into lightning form—yet Su Yan's claws, sheathed in Armament-like Haki, latched on firmly. A sickening crack came from Laxus's ribs.
"Aaargh!!"
Laxus let out a piercing scream and soon lost consciousness.
"Laxus!!" Freed cried out in alarm. Even injured, he hurried forward, hearing how painful Laxus's final cry was.
Ignoring Freed's plea, Su Yan—still in dragon form—descended in front of the Fairy Tail guild. The sight of the towering azure dragon rattled many. But in moments, that giant body shrank and changed back into Su Yan, who now held the unconscious Laxus in one hand.
"S-Su…Su Yan?!" The entire guild stared in shock.
Su Yan glanced around and asked, "Where's the Master?"
"In the infirmary on the second floor," someone answered.
Su Yan carried Laxus upstairs. Several Fairy Tail members trailed close behind, injuries or not. The tumult of recent events—discovering that Su Yan had the power of a dragon—left them reeling.
Inside the infirmary, Mira opened the door. Ms. Porlyusica stood by Makarov's bedside, tending to him. Mira and Porlyusica both turned, frowning at Su Yan.
"Su Yan!" Mira exclaimed anxiously. "How's Laxus…? And the Master's condition?"
Porlyusica spoke calmly: "The Master is stable for now. I've done what I can."
Su Yan set Laxus's limp form on the floor with a thud, then exhaled in relief. A serious illness was beyond any direct remedy of his, and he hated feeling helpless. At least Makarov was safe for the moment.
Porlyusica grumbled, "You brats keep dragging injured fools to me—can't I get some rest?"
"Sorry," Su Yan murmured. "Thank you, Ms. Porlyusica."
"Get out—I despise humans!" she snapped.
Su Yan only smiled wearily and turned to step out of the infirmary. He descended to the first-floor landing, where most of Fairy Tail was gathered—eyes fixed on him. With Makarov incapacitated, Su Yan effectively wielded the highest authority in the guild.
He cleared his throat. "I was a bit impulsive earlier, and the Master is now in a coma. Until he wakes up, I'll act as guild leader. First, go reassure Magnolia's citizens. Tell them all that the…unpleasantness they saw was illusion magic, just a misunderstanding before the magic parade. Next, any damage from the fighting—whoever caused it must apologize and provide compensation. If you can't pay, you'll help rebuild once the festival's over.
"Because so many of you are hurt, we'll delay the magic parade until tomorrow night. Any of you still harbor grudges—if you can't talk them out, I won't stop you from settling them by force. But keep it within reason. As for Laxus and the others… I've already beaten Evergreen, Bickslow, Freed, and Laxus. The Master will decide their punishment once he's awake.
"That's it. Let's move, people."
No one argued. Under normal circumstances, they might have questioned or debated. But Su Yan's prestige was indisputable—he had saved Fairy Tail from countless threats and had just revealed phenomenal power. They quickly scattered to carry out his orders.
Once the crowd dispersed, Natsu approached him, eyes alight. "Su Yan—Igneel. Do you know anything about him? You're a dragon! You must know something!"
Su Yan shook his head. "I'm a human, Natsu. That 'dragon form' is just a special Take Over magic, similar to how Mira can take on a demon's power. I can't help you find Igneel. If I had any leads, I'd have shared them by now."
"How can that be…?" Natsu's shoulders sagged. "That was definitely real dragon power. You must know something."
Su Yan gently gripped Natsu's shoulder. "Focus on getting stronger. Once you're powerful enough, the world's secrets—Igneel included—will reveal themselves."
Natsu stared at the floor, despondent, then turned to shuffle away. Su Yan watched him go, certain that Natsu would bounce back. One setback wouldn't crush him for long.
And so, the Fairy Tail civil war drew to a close. Laxus lay unconscious, awaiting the Master's verdict. Su Yan, the guild's temporary leader, had rallied everyone to restore peace. For now, the guild found itself anxious but relieved—knowing that, under Su Yan's watchful guard, no true threat could tear them apart.
