Chapter 118: Chapter 102: God-Destroying Magic! The Key to Breaking the Game!!

Ding! Sign-in successful!

Reward: Fire God-Destroying Magic.

[Fire God-Destroying Magic: A variant of Dragon-Slaying Magic with the ability to counteract Dragon-Slaying powers, devour and nullify all flames in the world, and even slay gods.]

God-destroying magic!

Rhodes' eyes lit up with surprise. A flame that could ignore and consume all others? Wasn't that essentially a built-in immunity to fire?

If Dragon-Slaying Magic enhanced its user by consuming dragon essence, did God-Destroying Magic strengthen by devouring divine power?

"I wonder how strong it actually is," Rhodes murmured.

With a casual wave of his hand, a massive magic circle flared to life beneath his feet.

From its core erupted black flames—deep, menacing, like an abyssal fire drawn from the underworld. The oppressive heat seemed far more destructive than ordinary flames.

No wonder this magic could kill gods.

"If I get the chance, I'll test it out on a demigod incarnation. If I can absorb divine power..." He trailed off, a dangerous glint in his eyes.

In the coming era, gods were as numerous as stars.

What if he could grow stronger by devouring them?

Given enough time, Rhodes mused, he might reduce the divine pantheon to rubble.

---

After traveling for dozens of kilometers, Rhodes finally reached the outskirts of a bustling settlement. Villages and towns sprawled along the horizon, teeming with all manner of life.

Dwarves, trolls, orcs, elves—every kind of magical being imaginable thrived here.

This was the borderland between the three great empires, a chaotic intersection of races and factions. With the Orc Empire expanding, and the Elven and Troll empires pushing back, many smaller races had been forced into this contested region.

The stronger races, like dwarves, had demigods protecting them. The weaker ones, like goblins, also had their own minor gods. It was a volatile balance, held together by divine grudges and territorial rivalries.

If any of the three empires upset this balance, they risked incurring the wrath of a pantheon united in vengeance.

---

"Humans?"

The moment Rhodes stepped into the town, curious gazes followed.

A lone, unshackled human in this place was a rarity. Most humans here wore chains, their ankles weighed down with iron shackles.

Slaves.

In this ancient, barbaric era, slavery was rampant. Humans, with their clever minds and docile natures, were prized as laborers by almost every race.

Even the elves, who fancied themselves noble and refined, enslaved humans under the guise of calling them "servants" to tend their gardens and estates.

But the orcs and trolls made no such pretense. To them, human slaves weren't even worth as much as livestock. They were worked to death in mines or fields, killed on a whim if their masters were in a foul mood.

"A free human? Rare indeed," came a gruff voice.

Rhodes turned to see a pig-headed orc with a gold ring on his thick fingers, his beady eyes gleaming with greed.

Without hesitation, the pig-headed orc snapped his fingers. "Catch him!"

Two hulking minotaurs stepped forward, their heavy footsteps thundering against the ground.

Rhodes tilted his head, a faint smirk forming on his lips. "Do you enjoy snapping your fingers?"

Snap!

The dark, god-destroying flames erupted from his hand, incinerating the minotaurs instantly.

The pig-headed orc froze, his smug expression replaced with terror. He spun around to flee, but before he could take a step, his limbs went limp, as if severed from his body.

Thud!

The orc crumpled to the ground, wriggling like a worm.

"You seem to enjoy enslaving people," Rhodes said, stepping closer. A bright, predatory smile played on his lips.

"Do you know who I am?" the orc blustered, his voice quivering. "I'm a noble of the Pig-Headed Clan, the brother of our leader! If you dare touch me, the Orc Empire will crush you!"

Rhodes raised an eyebrow. "Pig-headed noble? More like just a pig."

Boom!

His fist crashed down, turning the orc's face into a bloody pulp.

Rhodes shook off the gore with a look of disgust. "Killing you feels like an insult to my fists."

---

The commotion had drawn the attention of the entire town. Stunned creatures froze in place, their eyes wide with fear.

Rhodes cracked his neck, then opened his mouth wide.

Roar!

A deafening dragon's roar, imbued with terrifying draconic power, rolled through the streets.

The entire town trembled. Monsters fled in panic, their instincts screaming at them to run.

Rhodes summoned a pale magic circle beneath his feet, and with a single motion, unleashed a blast of white dragon flames. Houses collapsed into smoldering ruins.

These monsters enslaved humans without remorse. There was no reason for him to hold back.

By the time Rhodes was finished, the once-bustling town lay in ruins. Only the human slaves remained, huddled together in terror.

"You're free now."

Rhodes snapped the chains binding them and pointed toward the path he'd cleared earlier. "If you don't want to be enslaved again, head in that direction. It's safe for now."

The humans hesitated, then hurriedly gathered their meager belongings and began their escape.

---

Rhodes watched them leave, his thoughts turning serious.

The three great empires were on the brink of war, which would keep them distracted for a while. But humans couldn't rely on luck forever.

The real problem wasn't just their weakness. It was the lack of a powerful patron god to shield them.

If humans had divine backing, even the Orc Empire would think twice before making a move. A strong enough god could obliterate an entire race if provoked.

And if that god were him?

Rhodes' lips curled into a grin. A human god who could stand toe-to-toe with the greatest powers of the world—now that was a future worth fighting for.

---

As he turned to leave, one of the freed slaves called out. "Sir! What is your name?"

Rhodes waved without looking back. "I'm just a humble believer of the God of Magic. If you want to give thanks, thank him."

Faith surged in waves behind him, born of gratitude and hope. It was potent, enough to create miracles.

Rhodes smirked. "Faith might be tempting, but it's not for me."

He channeled the power of belief into the star orb he carried, feeding its latent will. Slowly but surely, the orb began to develop a faint consciousness.

The God of Magic wasn't real—just a convenient fiction. But faith was the greatest miracle of all.

With enough believers, the imaginary god could one day become real, a divine being born from their devotion.

And when that day came, the God of Magic would carry a shard of Rhodes' will, obeying him without question.

For now, though, it was just a dream. A god forged from pure faith required an astronomical amount of devotion—far more than a regular god.

To make it a reality, Rhodes would need to save more humans, earn their faith, and build something extraordinary.

But if anyone could do it, it was him.
