Fanfiction Reborn (All X OC) 7 days with Vongola

Chapter 7: Week 1 : Day 7 : ??? : Foggy days are surveillance days.

Even though it was Monday, Saya skipped school once again.

Gokudera was still by her side after sending Kyoko and the others back in the morning. While Saya wished he could stay longer, she didn't want him to miss school because of her.

The faint Mist Flame on a little ring flickered weakly as Gokudera tried to draw out the small amount of flame it contained. He held Saya's hand since before she woke up, working to stabilize the Mist Flame that had appeared.

When Saya woke, she felt a chill throughout her body—a sensation that was cold, damp, and dense, yet strangely gentle. She pulled the blanket closer as per Gokudera's advice. He was holding one of her hands, maintaining the balance of her flame.

"The Mist Flame is rebuilding your damaged body, which is why you're recovering faster," Gokudera explained, his expression serious but not annoyed. "How are you feeling now?"

Saya looked at their joined hands before turning her gaze to meet his. "It feels like walking in a mist... cold, damp, but not as harsh as being caught in the Rain Flame's downpour."

She glanced outside and saw the city shrouded in a light mist. Perhaps it was thanks to Gokudera that the mist wasn't any thicker; otherwise, it might've been declared a fog disaster, like in a horror movie.

"Hmm… I wonder if there are any monsters out there," Saya mused.

"What are you talking about?" Gokudera asked, and Saya replied with a grin.

"The Mist, you know, like in the movie," she said.

"Oh, that horror novel adaptation?" Gokudera responded, and Saya nodded enthusiastically.

"That's the one!"

"Tch... There aren't any monsters, but where there's mist, there's always something else lurking."

"Are you referring to me, perhaps?" A soft, chilling voice came from the window.

A purple-haired boy dressed in camouflage-style clothing and a green jacket sat casually on the window frame, a cold smile on his lips.

Saya hadn't noticed him earlier, as if he had materialized out of thin air like a ghost. Just thinking about it made her freeze in place, her skin prickling with unease.

The aura around him was mysterious and intangible, but Saya sensed it was a deliberate facade, concealing something chaotic and ominous within—like staring into the abyss of hell itself.

His violet eyes seemed to hold her gaze as he spoke, "You're as charming as the Arcobaleno described, Saya-chan."

Saya instinctively tightened her grip on Gokudera's hand, unable to tear her eyes away from the newcomer. A sense of unease gripped her; something about this man was profoundly unsettling. Gokudera seemed to sense it too.

"I'm surprised someone as polite as you would enter a girl's room through the window," Gokudera remarked dryly. "Didn't Reborn tell you to use the front door and ring the bell?"

"I've had to do things like this often lately, my apologies. But it does let me observe some interesting things," the purple-haired boy said, leaping gracefully from the window and stepping closer.

"You must be Saya-chan. Forgive my rudeness in not introducing myself before entering a sick girl's room."

He bowed like a butler in a French film before standing upright. "I'm Rokudo Mukuro. Reborn asked me to look after you today, Saya-chan."

"Pleased to meet you, Mr. Rokudo. I'm Saya Tomoe," she replied, smiling faintly despite the unease she felt.

"Call me Mukuro," he said with a sly smile. For a fleeting moment, Saya noticed one of his eyes flash red before it returned to violet.

"I'm here to look after Saya-chan too," Gokudera interjected, sitting closer to her and pulling her into a protective hold. His tension was evident even without observing his face.

"What about Chrome?" Gokudera asked sharply.

"She's been on a field trip since yesterday with Ken and Chikusa," Mukuro replied, unfazed. "I didn't expect there to be someone else here."

"I'm here too," a familiar voice said. The sound of deliberate footsteps revealed Yamamoto, standing at the doorway with his katana in hand.

"Yamamoto-kun… the sword," Saya whispered in shock, noticing his unusually serious demeanor. It was clear now why Reborn had sent Kyoko away early in the morning.

Despite his injuries from the previous day, Yamamoto had insisted on coming to see her. Saya now understood that it wasn't just concern for her but the danger Mukuro posed.

As Yamamoto approached, Gokudera tightened his protective hold on Saya. "Don't even think about doing anything reckless," he warned.

"Ku-fu-fu-fu… If I did that, I wouldn't be able to stabilize Saya-chan's flame," Mukuro said with an amused smile. Gokudera reluctantly eased his grip, allowing Mukuro to approach.

Mukuro took Saya's hand gently, igniting his Mist Flame to calm hers. The flickering flame slowly subsided and extinguished.

"Every job deserves compensation, don't you think?" Mukuro said, pressing a light kiss to the back of her hand. He looked up at her surprised face with a mischievous smile.

"Now that it's done, leave, Mukuro," Gokudera demanded.

"As you wish," Mukuro said.

Before anyone could react…

poof!

Saya transformed into a small pink rabbit. Mukuro caught her in his arms and vanished into the mist with a soft laugh before Gokudera or Yamamoto could intervene.

"I'll take her with me for now, ku-fu-fu-fu," Mukuro's voice echoed faintly as he disappeared.

"Dammit!" Gokudera shouted, but the other party had already disappeared. Yamamoto could only grit his teeth in frustration.

Mukuro moved swiftly through the void, having successfully abducted Saya. The rabbit form of Saya struggled and bit at his hand in defiance. Unfazed, Mukuro used his illusionary power to put her to sleep and tucked her into the inner pocket of his coat. He transported her to the Bloody Blackwood Forest, a considerable distance from Namimori. Once there, he extinguished the flame on his ring and carefully removed Saya from his pocket.

A Mist flame gradually emerged from the tiny rabbit's body. Mukuro absorbed the flame into his ring, watching as it seemed to flow endlessly.

"A perfect little energy rechanged," Mukuro thought with amusement. "It's a pity. If the Arcobaleno weren't aware of her existence, I'd love to keep her as my pet rabbit forever."

At that moment, Mukuro sensed a familiar presence. He leaped from tree to tree and spotted a silver-haired girl in the distance. She stood alongside Gokudera and Yamamoto, both of whom wore expressions of distress.

"Oh, how curious. What brings Sora from the Vittorio Family here?" Mukuro muttered, standing on a nearby branch, just close enough to eavesdrop on their conversation.

"Damn it! This is a nightmare!" Gokudera ranted as Yamamoto interrupted with a sigh. "I don't care anymore!"

"Mukuro took Saya. She's someone we're supposed to protect, and I don't know what he plans to do with her. I can only share so much detail, but please... help us."

"Saya?" the silver-haired girl, Sora, repeated. Mukuro narrowed his eyes as he observed her aura. It felt different from the Sora he once knew, and her radiating energy was strangely enticing. Moreover, he knew that the real Sora wouldn't leave Italy so easily. The answer became clear to him.

"The Ten-Year Bazooka," Mukuro mused. "If this is Sora U of now…"

It might even be possible to take her Hell Ring. Acquiring a ring from the Vittorio Family was no small feat, especially in this era.

"My dear Saya-chan…" Mukuro said softly. Suddenly, the ground where Sora stood split open. Wooden spikes and jagged rocks adorned with eerie eyes surged from below. Sora instinctively leapt into the air, summoning a weapon—a deck of cards—for protection.

"Where is she?!" Gokudera summoning his bow as he narrowly evaded the splitting ground. At the same time, Yamamoto opened a box, releasing his swallow and unsheathing his glistening katana, now coated in Rain Flame. His sharp intent surged.

"What did you do to her?" Yamamoto's voice was as sharp as his blade. "She's... alive, isn't she?"

Mukuro responded with a chilling smile. "She's right here." With that, he pulled Saya, still in her rabbit form, from his pocket and placed her on his head.

In a flash, Yamamoto charged, leading with his swallow.

"Shigure Soen..." The Rain Flame-covered blade slashed at Mukuro, sending a wave of energy his way. Mukuro vanished before reappearing on a thick branch.

"So impatient," Mukuro teased, adjusting the rabbit on his head to keep her steady before stroking her gently. "If Saya-chan were hit by that flame, she'd be hurt, you know."

Observing the scene, Sora hurled a card with impressive speed.

Thud!

The card struck Mukuro's hand with precision, catching him off guard. Saya, in her rabbit form, slipped from his grasp.

Thud! Bump!

Crack! Crack! Crack!

"Ow!" Saya's rabbit form hit the ground hard, jolting her awake. She tumbled and landed at the feet of the silver-haired girl. Who… who is this? I don't know them!

Terrified, the little rabbit scrambled away in a cloud of dust, heading straight for Yamamoto.

Waaaah! She cried, tears streaming as she leapt at the boy, clinging tightly to his shirt. Her tears and sniffles came in torrents as she whimpered, Yamamoto! I'm hurt so bad!

Yamamoto quickly scooped her up into his arms, his menacing aura still lingering. He felt relieved as he looked down at the small rabbit. Though scratched in places, it was overall safe and sound.

Seeing this, Yamamoto broke into a wide smile. "You're safe now, Saya-chan."

Saya, still in her rabbit form, nodded tearfully. 'That stupid Mukuro! He drained my flames! Drained them until I'm starving! Just you wait, I'm going to eat some pineapples!'

"Quite the warm welcome," Mukuro remarked, glancing at Sora, whose hand was faintly bleeding.

"Who told you to use only words? ...Going full-out like that, huh?" Sora muttered.

"What do you mean? I always tease like this. Aren't you used to it yet?" Mukuro smirked. "And to think you made someone else drop their valuable energy charger. That's just careless."

'I am not your energy charger, idiot!'

Saya, in her rabbit form, fumed, veins popping on her temple. Sora gave her a sidelong glance before doing something unexpected.

"!"

Thirteen cards appeared, orbiting around Saya before a puff of smoke transformed her back into a young girl. She now stood enveloped in Yamamoto's gentle embrace.

'Back to normal.' Saya looked down at herself in relief. Yamamoto's faint smile lingered a moment before he turned back to Sora and Mukuro. 'That girl must have saved me.'

"Why are you bullying a girl?" The silver-haired girl grumbled, calling the cards back into her hand. Saya was amazed to see cards used as weapons.

'Wow, she's really cool!'

Saya's eyes sparkled as she turned to Mukuro.

"You're the worst! pineapple-headed creep! How dare you turn me into a rabbit… and drain my flames to the point I'm starving!"

Yes, she was absolutely starving now thanks to him!

Mukuro's brow and lips twitched. Drained dry? He remembered clearly that the flames hadn't run out yet. "Pineapple... you say?"

"That's right!" Saya snapped, now glaring at Mukuro. Slowly, his head began to resemble a pineapple in her eyes. Her mouth began to water. "Or do you deny it?"

"No, no, not at all," Sora interjected. "But you forgot to add 'rotten.' A rotten pineapple."

At this, Gokudera couldn't suppress a chuckle, and even Yamamoto's lips twitched with amusement.

Saya spoke with conviction, her expression serious as she now saw Mukuro's head fully transformed into a pineapple. "If Mukuro doesn't wash his hair, then yes, that word might just fit. But thankfully, it smells fine for now; otherwise, I'd be awake from hunger by now."

Ah… because a rotten pineapple wouldn't smell pleasant, and if it were rotten, she wouldn't be able to eat it.

Mukuro's eyebrow twitched, his patience clearly wearing thin.

"Haha, Saya-chan," Yamamoto patted her head, unable to hold back his laughter. Gokudera was already laughing outright. What should have been a fierce battle had turned into a comedy, with Mukuro as the center of ridicule.

"I didn't mean his head!" Sora grumbled under her breath. "I meant his personality."

"By the way, who are you?" Saya asked the silver-haired girl, noticing the resemblance between her hair and Gokudera's. "Are you Gokudera-kun's sister?"

Saya admired their similar hair color, wondering if it was dyed or natural.

"By the way, does Vongola have a Guardian named Lambo?" she asked after a brief moment of thought.

"Yes, but, um… he's just a boy in a cow suit. I'm not sure if he's who you're looking for," Saya said, still confused as to why she was even asking about Lambo.

"So does this Lambo happen to have a Ten-Year Bazooka… or something like that?" the mysterious girl asked again. Saya didn't know what that was, so she didn't reply. Instead, Gokudera answered.

"He does... You're not from around here, are you?"

"Not exactly," the girl replied. "By the way, why was Mukuro draining her flames?" she asked, glancing at him.

"Saya has flames of all seven attributes in her because she ate an experimental candy," Gokudera sighed, running a hand through his hair.

"I bumped into Gokudera-kun while buying snacks, and we accidentally switched our bags, so I ate it by mistake," Saya explained with an awkward laugh as Gokudera glared at her.

"You've been reckless in every era, haven't you?" the girl muttered, her tone light but her gaze serious.

Reckless in every era? Saya was curious about both that comment and Gokudera's earlier words, but she couldn't piece them together just yet.

"Hmm… I like you," Mukuro said.

"Shut up!" Gokudera snapped.

"But the Ten-Year Bazooka, or rather—by your time, you should have already returned, right? Strange that you haven't," Mukuro paused before continuing, "Or… you can't go back?"

The silver-haired girl raised her hand to pinch her chin as if deep in thought, while Saya looked at her silently. Then, the girl turned to Mukuro and asked, "Hey, Mukuro… do you know me?"

"Of course," Mukuro smiled, but the girl raised an eyebrow in annoyance.

"So, you really are dangerous, huh?" Gokudera commented.

"No, you're the most dangerous one here," she retorted with a deadpan expression. Saya nodded vigorously in agreement.

"What! Me?" Gokudera exclaimed, while Saya continued nodding without hesitation.

"Well… dangerous, yes, but how should I put it?" Saya pondered, recalling Reborn's account of the events in the research lab. Although she didn't fully believe it, before her death, she thought she had heard something faintly. She was certain it was Gokudera's voice. "I heard you grabbed someone by the collar and shook them, yelling something like, 'Will you shoot, or should I?'"

Gokudera's eyebrow twitched upon hearing that. "That's…"

Saya smiled gently, looking at him, whose expression turned awkward and speechless.

What she felt for Gokudera was only gratitude from the bottom of her heart. Even the words that sounded like a marriage proposal… but please, don't marry someone out of guilt. Don't let it end up like the stories of many she knew, where marriages devoid of love often led to sadness.

Like her parents, who ended in divorce…

Saya silently wished for Gokudera to find someone who truly loved him. But if he truly loved her, and if she loved him too—on that day, if Gokudera proposed, she wouldn't hesitate for even a second to say yes.

"Here," Mukuro interrupted, tossing something to the mysterious girl. "Fran asked me to give this to you."

"Strawberries!" Saya's eyes sparkled at the sight of the juicy fruit. Starving since morning with nothing to eat, not even water, her rumbling stomach betrayed her hunger. "I got kidnapped early in the morning, so I haven't had anything to eat yet."

The mysterious girl opened the box, sniffed its contents briefly, then handed it to Saya.

"You can have them. I'm still full," she said, her words like a blessing from heaven. Although Saya felt she should be polite, her hunger had reached its limit.

"Thanks! I'm going to dig in!" Saya said, grabbing a strawberry and ignoring Gokudera's protest. After a while, Yamamoto took one too, but Gokudera hesitated, watching the silver-haired girl cautiously. She smiled at him.

"Aren't you going to eat? Didn't they give it to you?" Gokudera asked, seeing Saya enjoying the food without any signs of harm.

"Well, I don't even know who sent them. You guys go ahead and eat," she replied.

As they continued eating, Saya's bracelet turned from blue to a glowing red. At that moment, Gokudera lit a flame, and Saya instinctively reached out her hand to him. When they touched, the red flame disappeared into the bracelet, leaving only a faint glow.

"Last time, it almost destroyed Namimori with a storm," Saya explained, chewing her strawberry. "If the balance isn't controlled, we might all get blown away by a tornado."

"Do you always need help like this?" Sora asked.

"There's no better solution yet, but it seems my symptoms improved slightly after the last injection… when I died," Saya said, taking another bite of the delicious strawberry. Though embarrassed by her lack of etiquette, her hunger outweighed her concerns.

"I'm trying to make a remedy, but… going back to the way things were is tough," Gokudera said.

"He said if I can't return to normal and no one wants to marry me, he'd volunteer to marry me," Saya added, causing Mukuro to cover his mouth to stifle his laughter while Yamamoto gave a sheepish smile.

"That's not something you need to bring up!" Gokudera snapped, blushing. Saya nodded innocently.

Suddenly, smoke enveloped the mysterious girl, and— poof!

She reappeared, still sitting in the same spot, but her outfit had changed entirely.

"What just happened?" she asked, scanning her surroundings before turning to Mukuro.

"Back to normal?" Mukuro asked.

"...The Ten-Year Bazooka?" she replied, standing up and dusting herself off.

"Looks like it," Mukuro confirmed.

"Um," Saya interjected as the girl stood and brushed off her skirt. "Sorry for almost finishing the strawberries."

"Go ahead; enjoy," the girl replied graciously. Saya hesitated only briefly before offering them to Gokudera and Yamamoto.

"Would you like one? Gokudera-kun? Yamamoto-kun?"
