FATE of DxD

First Battle I

Still it was bearable and Jun could handle it. He wanted to wait for Irina to leave before taking Issei's sacred gear because he didn't know if her father would notice something weird if he did so right now.

In fact, the conflict between the church and the female devil Cleria Belial who was the ruler of Kuoh was getting hot so Jun was hesitant about making moves.

It was quite the drama. An exorcist fell in love with a beautiful devil and thus the pair of star crossed lovers earned the ier of their respective factions.

Jun didn't want to be implicated, not that he had thee power to do something about it even if he was implicated against his will but he truly had no opinions towards the matter and just wanted to keep to himself.

Alas, murphy's law was keen to mess up that desire. In truth, it was foolish of Jun to think experienced exorcists like Irina's father and his subordinates would not notice anything strange about him.

Although his magical ability was not easily detectable due to the different inner workings of magecraft when compared to the magic of this world, Jun training in martial arts, his superhuman physique and his breath and way of carrying himself and moving while maintaining his core steady as a rock were major warning signs.

And so, while Mr. Shido saw Jun as someone without any bad intentions as a result of his experience and ability to read people's intentions fairly accurately and even thought Jun might be a good friend to his daughter, one of his younger and more hot headed subordinates did not have such a levelheaded judgement.

With this being the case, it was only a matter of time before the passionate and somewhat bigoted young exorcist caused an incident with Jun who just wanted to avoid trouble before he got strong enough to handle it.

It was a normal day and Issei had just went home after he, along with Irina, dragged Jun around the whole afternoon.

Turning to Jun who seemed to not be tired at all, Irina spoke.

"Ne, Ju-kun!" She called.

*sigh*

'What a crappy nickname.' Jun thought.

"What is it Irina-chan?" He responded.

"Do you train?" She asked.

Jun raised his brow.

"Why do you ask?" He inquired.

"Just the way you move and how you're not tired after all the running with did. Reminds me of otou-san." Irina explained.

'Ugh! If even this airhead can figure that out, her father and his exorcists certainly know. Damn! That was careless of me. I sure hope nothing troublesome comes of this . . .' Jun thought.

Unfortunately for him, the trouble he wanted to avoid was indeed approaching.

"Yeah I do. How about you Irina-chan? Aiming to become a battle nun or something?" Jun asked.

Irina blushed.

"Hehehe! Something like that, otou-san doesn't want to teach me the good stuff before I get older though so-" She suddenly stopped.

"You know I'm a girl!?" She suddenly shouted with a red face, pointing her finger at Jun.

"You're too cute to be a boy. Only an idiot like Isei would not figure it out." Jun replied.

Irina giggled at his response.

"Thanks . . ." She quietly said with some embarrassment.

"Hmm? For what?" Jun asked.

"You know . . ." Irina fidgeted.

"I do?" Jun was lost.

Irina shoved him and sai with some frustration and more embarrassment.

"For saying I'm cute even though most people think I'm too boyish." She got out.

"Oh that. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll be quite the beauty when you grow up." Jun offhandedly said.

"Hehehe. I think you'll be handsome when you grow up too." Irina complimented back.

"Thanks." Jun noncommitedly thanked.

'You're too young for that to make me happy to be honest.' He thought.

It was at this moment that the young exorcist came out and pointed at Jun.

"Get away from Shidou taichou's daughter!" He shouted.

"I knew you were up to no good!" He continued.

"What are you trying to pull by fooling Irina-sama!?" He questioned with outrage.

*sigh*

'Oh no! An idiot!' Jun complained in his mind.

"Kawamura-san! What are you doing here'" Irina was surprised.

"Get away from that brat Irina-sama!" Kawamura warned.

"He clearly has ill intent!" He added.

"Ju-kun is my friend He is not a bad person!" Irina defended Jun.

"You!" Kawamura only got madder.

"To think you had already tricked Irina-sama that far. I, Kawamura, shall take you down!" He declared.

"Don't you feel ashamed at declared you're going to take down a seven year old child?" Jun inquired, looking at Kawamura like the idiot he was.

"Age is unimportant as a measure of evil!" Kawamura self righteously claimed.

"Ah! You must be the type that thinks burning little girls alive at the stake under mere suspicions and delusions is okay right? What bastard." Jun commented.

"Shut up! You're words cannot affect my resolve." Kawamura declared with zeal.

*sigh* Jun sighed with exasperation.

'There really is no reasoning with an idiot.' He thought.

"Now, surrender to my custody or feel my righteous fury." Kawamura shouted.

"Man, you can actually spout that chunni crap with a straight face? I'm actually impressed." Jun commented while raising his arms in surrender.

"Hmph! In spite of your devious tongue, you seem to know when you're outmatched." Kawamura proudly said.

Irina looked on with worry, not knowing what to do at all.

"Indeed!" Jun replied with a smile and, when the exorcist came closer to put special cuffs on him, he struck without the slightest semblance of honor.

Activating Reinforcement and Magic Burst while striking with a Pankration technique, he dug in his elbow deep into Kawamura's solar plexus, taking advantage of the height difference.

The exorcist crumpled forward as a result of the unexpected blow and Jun took the opportunity to perform a toss, sending Kawamura crashing down into the ground with great force.

"Ha! You're not to tough for someone talking all that crap are you?" Jun taunted.

In truth, the only reason he was so successful was due to the surprise attack. An elite exorcist was not easy to take down, even for a mid class devil. Jun was just lucky Kawamura was still inexperienced and he was far from being the cream of the crop.

Even then, he had underestimated his opponent.

Kawamura jumped but in a battle ready stance with a line of blood flowing from his mouth.

"Turns out you are more dangerous that I thought:" The exorcist said, calmer and more focused.

'Shit! I should've finished the job.' Jun admonished himself.

'He's calmer now and no slouch if those strikes did not put him out of action but he is definitely injured so I still have the advantage.' He analyzed the situation.

Amping up his Reinforcement, Jun enhanced not only his physical abilities but his senses, giving his eye a very weak clairvoyance and his ear the ability to detect even the sound of weak air currents and heartbeats some distance away. In addition to this, his clothes were also reinforced giving him an extra layer of defense.

All of Jun's mental partition were focused on the fight, one room to maintain his normal buffs, another to use all of his enhanced senses and predict the opponent's moves, and the last to command his body in the actual fighting.

Kawamura drew an exorcist pistol loaded with light bullets and a light sword as he prepared for a serious fight. Being weapons meant for the creatures of darkness like vampires and devils, it would have considerably reduced effectiveness against a human like Jun but they would still kill him.

He then used holy energy to boost himself to superhuman levels of physical strength and endurance as a way to deal with Jun's own seemingly supernatural physical prowess.

Irina shouted from the side but the two combatants far too focused on their battle to care. And so it began.

Kawamura opened fire with his pistol but Jun's enhanced mental faculties could predict the bullets' paths before they were actually fired, allowing him to doge even though he was not actual fast enough to move out of the way after it was fired.

Using Magic Burst onto his legs, Jun propelled himself forward as his form flickered due to the tremendous speed and closed the distance to his opponent.

Kawamura responded with a wide sweep of his blade to intercept the rushing Jun but the boy stopped just outside the exorcist's range, causing the slash to miss.

The priest attempted to move his gun to fire upon Jun instead but the boy boosted his arms with Magic Burst and backhanded the exorcist's handgun away with his right hand, knocking it out of his grip and closing in to stop Kawamura from swinging his blade while striking at his stomach with his left hand.

However, while Jun's move had stopped Kawamura from using the sword on his right hand to attack, from the exorcist's left sleeve, another sword came out to replace the pistol Jun had knocked away and Kawamura struck with it.

The end result was Kawamura taking Jun's full powered, Magic Burst enhanced fist to his stomach while Jun took a sword slash to his right collarbone.
